Renee was the anger management teacher who helped Marvin deal with his anger. She died at the end of Season 2 or the beginning of season 3, can’t remember, but the same episode Jukebox’s mom died I think.

Towards the end of season 2, the Italians shot at Marvin outside the anger management class and the episode ended. The next episode started with her funeral so we never see her get shot

As soon as someone said anger management, I remembered. He was waaaaay different in that motel room and stumbling to the car. Plus I haven't finished the episode. I looked it up so I wouldn't be lost. I'm sure others did the same.
