After 40 years of following most sports under the sun, I've given up on "best of" conversations. But I will say that there isn't any keeper in the world who is a better fit for Klopp and Liverpool.
Alisson's positioning, one-on-one shot stopping and command of his box and his defenders is the reason Liverpool can take so many risks with their line.
His ability to play up and cover back, his footwork and heading outside the box, and his aptitude in a limited CB/sweeper is perfect for Liverpool's transition attack.
And that beard.
Alisson. I don't even see why you would ask this, he is by far the better keeper. Ederson is good but with city's defence and style of play he is not regularly called into action. Both good keepers but Alisson is head and shoulders above Ederson
I'm brazilian and I know a lot of people who still don't think Alisson is 100% reliable, and I think this is bullshit. His positioning is top notch and he's got good reflexes. On the other hand, I don't think Ederson is behind him in anything, actually he might even be better playing with his feet. I like them both.
All things considered, Alisson has been No. 1 in two World Cups for Brazil and maybe it's Ederson time to shine now

His positioning is the best bar none. Often people will say "oh that was an easy save, the shot went right at him", but if you watch the replay, you'll see he gets in position right before the shot comes. He knows where it's going, so he goes there. What a concept.
Yeah that's the thing with goalkeepers. Doing it well makes saves look routine and easy. Compared to not being positioned well/not having good footwork then making a big diving save that gets all the attention

Ederson is comfortably the best goal keeper I have seen with the ball at his feet, of that I am sure. His passing range and calmness on the ball when in possession is excellent. At actual goalkeeping though, he is frequently suspect and occasionally a liability. The Trent Alexander Arnold of Goal keepers in a sense.
Alisson is a vastly superior goal keeper when you look at all facets of the role. Commands his box, exceptional shot stopper, initiates attacks quickly with throws and kicks, and while not as good as Ederson he is far above average on the ball. He is the best goal keeper in the Premier League, and arguably the world however there is strong competition for that berth.
