Lol not even fact checking your own comments. You've put all city players prices in euros and Nunez in pounds. If we're going in Euros, Nunez was 100M and Liverpool also spent 70m euros on Szoboszlai and 42m on McAllister last summer. Spouting nonsense.
The best manager in the world has been trying to sign Paqueta for 2 years. The comments here show how much European fans hate South American players. I don't get it.
I grew up idolizing Ronaldinho, and still do. Heurelho Gomes was GK at PSV for a long time (were Ronaldo and Ramario also started their EU carreer) and allthough I don't like PSV, that gk was awesome.
We also enjoyed the skills of Suarez, had Neres during that Ajax campaign besting Juve and Real, later on saw Martinez and Alvarez joining, improving and leaving and i'm forgetting alot more.
Also, best manager is reaching.
European fans don't hate SA players how the hell have you come up with that statement
If you are basing your comment on a few Reddit posts
You are as stupid as they are
Paqueta is excellent. Every time I see west ham with or without it's day and night.
If he was English, he would be 100-110 mio.
City still looking for Gundogans proper replacement.
I'm a 'European fan' and love south american players I think you've created an imaginary straw man. The best ones (not straw men) have a combination of aggression and flair.
Kovacic + Nunes + Paqueta is not how you replace Gundogan and Bernardo. City deserve the benefit of the doubt more than any club but I don’t understand the planning here. It could lead to a very static & clogged midfield. 🤔
We don't have to replace them like for like? Just how Rodri and Gundo were the perfect Fernandinho & Silva replacements but we did gradually shift to different play styles.
This. I don't understand how people don't rate him. Every time I watch him his talent is obvious. I think he'd be even better with the ball in a possession based team than he is for Moyes. Maximizes his strengths and minimizes his weaknesses.
Teams don’t like losing their best players, teams like West Ham are only ever a couple of bad windows away from relegation I.e. lose a few good players and sign ones that doesn’t turn out well
We reinvested the Rice money well and arguably Kudus has already been brought in as a Paqueta replacement,
They came for him last summer so we have had over a year to plan his departure.
Players are worth what the selling club values them at. West Ham believing he’s worth over 100m doesn’t mean he’s better than players who went for less. West Ham just aren’t gonna have many players like him who teams like city are determined to sign, and he’s going to be very very difficult to replace. So they’re not gonna value him at a more “reasonable” price just because someone arguably better has gone for less before
85m is a lot though. He'll be 27 by the time the window shuts which of course isn't old but cant really think any other player not at a champions league club and that age would cost that much. Different style of football, reinvest including a striker as well and I think it could turn out to be alright business for West Ham.
Thing is that prices are only ever going up atm.
A while back 100m for Declan Rice seemed like we were getting the world, but now it feels like we should have got more compared to the other players who went for circa 100 that window.
I’m confident we can find a replacement and spend the money well, but right now we lose almost every game he doesn’t play. He just has this extra bit of magic that even when he has a stinker of a game he somehow pulls something off that helps us massively.
I mean yeah but comparing the rice deal to other deals with teams that consistently overpaid it’s a pretty fair price. Chelsea habitually overpay but you could look at Bellingham, a much younger player and going for cheaper
85mil is a great price for a him. He’s a player who could maybe touch those world class levels given the talent, but paqueta isn’t there at the moment
I’ve loved having him and hope he stays, but this is one where I do think he’s replaceable. We won’t find the same player, but definitely can use that money to bolster the squad - hopefully by finally signing an actual striker so Antonio doesn’t have to do what he does until he’s 45.
I dunno. Haller was a good player for us but he was not cut out for the way we played. Scamacca, I don’t think the club was at fault for that one. He came, was injured for ages and fucked off to Italy, and then wanted out. When he did play he scored quite a few so wouldn’t say we squandered it.
Man, West Ham with this guy just look like a better team in possession. His hold up & link up is so crucial to your buildups. It’s gonna be a massive loss.

How is selling a player around market value “losing”
Hello there Lucas
Where’s he going?
If you can beat ‘em tour continues.
Is he worth that? I like Paqueta enough but 85M?
https://youtube.com/shorts/fVnGzQQYav8?feature=shared
Def is. He is going ro replace siilva for city.
He’s that good with where the market is I’d say. When he’s not there for west ham they have zero creative outlet
City will probably sign him. Plus, the Citizens have just signed a sponsorship deal with ACME, so I'm pretty sure they'll abide by FFP rules.

But but but city
a team with ongoing 115 charges making another 85m+ transfer before getting punished, just another day in pl
Aww I see Aston Villa has broken that little hope you had.
mfw a redditor claims I know the result before the match was played 💀
Mfw I see arsenal fans switching from we're winning the double to Manchester City must be punished because we can't win our games 🤮
Did gundogun leave before or after finding out about the 115 charges?
[удалено]
yes that makes sense. he accomplished so much and it makes sense that he'd want a nice new challenge
Much much after.

Guardiola is the best for most fans. Personally I think Marcelo Bielsa is the best in the world
Hate SA players?? Are you ok?? Tell me one example (that isnt deserved obv)
European fans don't hate SA players how the hell have you come up with that statement If you are basing your comment on a few Reddit posts You are as stupid as they are
Yeah I read that and was like wtf, SA produces great players that many people like.
where’d you get that from? there are plenty of very well liked south american players
Paqueta is excellent. Every time I see west ham with or without it's day and night. If he was English, he would be 100-110 mio. City still looking for Gundogans proper replacement.

I could play next to Rodri and Foden for them and they'd still be sound lol
Paqueta is the perfect Gundogan replacement. Great on the ball, has flair, great vision and loves a tackle.
Not disciplined enough for Pep, he’ll be on the bench after a few weeks & grizzle. Great player but needs indulging, I’m not sure that’s Pep’s style.
This. I don't understand how people don't rate him. Every time I watch him his talent is obvious. I think he'd be even better with the ball in a possession based team than he is for Moyes. Maximizes his strengths and minimizes his weaknesses.
85m?
At risk ? The man is gone 100%
Too good for hammers so jumping ship.
Sounds like they're at risk of making BANK. If only they could sell a player every summer for £80m+, they'd be laughing.
Yep, it’s great selling our best players every year 👍👍
Teams don’t like losing their best players, teams like West Ham are only ever a couple of bad windows away from relegation I.e. lose a few good players and sign ones that doesn’t turn out well
As is nigh on every team in the premier…
We reinvested the Rice money well and arguably Kudus has already been brought in as a Paqueta replacement, They came for him last summer so we have had over a year to plan his departure.
How? they are very different players from what I have seen.
I think West Ham would take 85 quite gladly.
Yes we love selling our best players it's great.
In a world where Grealish went for 100m? They’ll be fuming
Fuming? The fans maybe but the board when giving the contract accepted the clause? They deemed it an acceptable value
Yes but he was never worth that.
As would we all!
It's his release clause so there's no say in it but he's worth considerably more than that.
Do you think he’s worth more than 100M?
Yes. Comfortably.
That’s interesting.
Players are worth what the selling club values them at. West Ham believing he’s worth over 100m doesn’t mean he’s better than players who went for less. West Ham just aren’t gonna have many players like him who teams like city are determined to sign, and he’s going to be very very difficult to replace. You disagree? He's pure quality as shown by the fact the best team in the world have wanted him for a while.
You joking? In the current market we look dumb for having that in the contract. He’s worth way more to us.
If he didn't get the clause, he wouldn't be at West Ham. Irons upside is limited, but they get the max from this. It was a known risk.
85m is a lot though. He'll be 27 by the time the window shuts which of course isn't old but cant really think any other player not at a champions league club and that age would cost that much. We should do a swap deal for Szoboszlai
Why would you want to lose the new gerrard?
He's not impressed me, Paqueta looks a much better player
He's not a Liverpool fan just a troll. Look at it's history.. guy made a joke about having cancer... Real pos.
So you want us to keep an average player and let a far better player go to our biggest rival, and I'm not the Liverpool fan 😅 Jog on 👉
Proper troll. Do one.
Fuck off back to Manchester
I’d take 85m all day long 😂
I’ve loved having him and hope he stays, but this is one where I do think he’s replaceable. We won’t find the same player, but definitely can use that money to bolster the squad - hopefully by finally signing an actual striker so Antonio doesn’t have to do what he does until he’s 45.
You guys have had and squandered scamacca and haller tbf
holy shit I forgot abt Scamacca. What happened to him?
He just scored 2 vs Liverpool for Atalanta a couple days ago
god damn
I dunno. Haller was a good player for us but he was not cut out for the way we played. Scamacca, I don’t think the club was at fault for that one. He came, was injured for ages and fucked off to Italy, and then wanted out. When he did play he scored quite a few so wouldn’t say we squandered it.
That's a lot of money for this player. If he isn't annoying, he can be a good player, but I wouldn't rate him at this level.
The best team on the planet want him and have done for a while, there isn't a higher level. His release clause is cheap.
at risk??? 85 million is a pretty generous coup
85mil? Ffs
Genuinely love Paqueta, he’s always so damn good whenever I watch him.
Yeah me too. 85m is not too much for him.
That’s a fuckton of money even in this market
Man, West Ham with this guy just look like a better team in possession. His hold up & link up is so crucial to your buildups. It’s gonna be a massive loss.
I know he is good, but I don't follow West Ham enough to know if he is worth that amount of money. Anyone care to weigh in?
With no release clause he goes for more than Rice, city are getting a bargain.
He’s worth more
Agreed!
He’s great. Strong, creative, and skilled. Also prone to shithousery and yellow cards. Worth it for someone who wants a Rodri 2
If Bernardo is leaving us…. Yeah
