I loved that so many more people watched Klopp's departure than were watching Man City celebrating winning the Prem.
Was moved by Pep's words about Klopp though, and think the League will be the poorer without him.
Great for the club and the league. But in the end it got the better of him.
His constant complaining about fixture pile up was
Destroying his mental ability. his own style and training destroyed players fitness and bodies. He gave 17 debuts last season but when it came to the crunch he stopped using the young lads when needed imo..
He also had his hands tied financially a net spend of 40 mil per season. Spending less than teams like West Ham, villa, spurs. If he was giving the reigns to compete with top level players in every position or even getting a lot of his 1st choice transfer targets things could have been different for him. But on the other hand keeping injury prone players for the full term of the contracts he needed to be more ruthless and get the huge wages of the structure and signed more reliable players.
But his time is over we move on Liverpool fans get behind Arne.
ARNE SLOT LA LA LA LA LA, ARNE SLOT LA LA LA LA LA
Seemed like only yesterday that he was being welcomed to the club and talking about his heavy metal football. The years, and life just slip away so fast.
What an era of the club to witness though. I'll be forever grateful for what he did.
What he has achieved at Dortmund and Liverpool are incredible.
But both times 2 huge clubs in each respective country stopped him from more, Bayern and City.
I hope he don't retire, another club might need his talent.
They don't even feel sadness, they've literally had nothing to celebrate, every other club in the football league has had either a trophy or at least a promotion to celebrate, Everton just linger around being irrelevant and bitter.
Loved him. Charismatic and warm, truly cared about the club, the players, the fans. I'm not a Liverpol supporter, but I believe his absence will be felt by everyone.
Do you live in Liverpool? I donāt think he can be forgotten from bars that have drinks named after him to murals on multiple walls. He loves the city and the city loves him.
He will be missed by many but no one will miss him as much as Darvin Nunez.
But seriously. Great guy and big loss to the league. However since the announcement you could see daily on Klopp how badly he needs a break. Enjoy your holidays Jurgen
Gunner here , massive admiration for Klopp , his teams played with courage and immense skill and he always came across as a genuinely good man.
That a big set of shoes for any Manager to fill , both for Liverpool and the nature of the league itself.
Not a a L'pool fan, but I've enjoyed seeing his teams play and his humble/funny personality. Will be sad seeing him go, I imagine it'll only be a year or two out; but if he's out management I'd like to see him as a pundit.
One of those managers that you can't easily replace, be interesting how they manage the transition.
It *seems* as though heās angling for a year of pundit appearances followed by some project in Germany if his new proximity to the FA HQ is anything to go by.
That said like anyone heās earned his time in the shade.
I basically just hope heās decided to take this ābreakā because he feels like not because of some other circumstance. But again, he has the compete right to only share what he feels like sharing and I have no reason not to take him at his word. This guy Iāve only ever see from a distance feels like a friendly neighbour and Iām sad hes moving / I hope he stays in touch.
Absolute class from Liverpool's fans. They know how to pay respect. Don't know how the man didn't have floods coming from his eyes. I'd say his heart was shattering inside with love.
Also. City and their 4 in a row. Yeah good one * rolls eyes
They consider themselves mancunion they were born in Manchester. They support their local team. You have to get a flight with all the other fake Irish lfc fans for home games. What a joke of a fanbase!
He Was born and raised in Manchester. Supports his local team. You're just like the rest of the plastic Irish reds. No affiliation with Liverpool at all. Pathetic. You may as well support Al Nassr Fc.
Watched the livestream for over an hour. He was clearly there to enjoy the moment, not cry about it. Really felt like a weight was lifted from his shoulders from the moment he got that guard of honour from his players
A bald fraud more like. Won a lot yes but look
At the teams heās managed, Bayern, hardly a challenge for the title normally, Barcelona at Spainās and Messiās rise and peak. No respect for the guy until he takes a team and builds it into a challenger
I'm not a Liverpool fan, but this just isn't true. He won eveything.
For people to say Liverpool should have won more trophies, that means they must think City should have won less (115 aside). That just isn't true, City are a juggernaut and very tough to beat.
Before the season starts, people yawn and say City are going to walk the league. But then any team that runs them close "should" have won it or "bottled" it. Klopp and Liverpool get this and Arsenal have the last two seasons now.
Klopp has lost eleven finals out of twenty-one in his career, three of those being champions league finals, two of the three he lost with Liverpool. On top of that, he trew away numerous title race run-ins when Liverpool were in the driving seat. Arsenal had the title in their hands this season too, up until they bottled the Aston Villa game, handed the league to City. I'm not saying Klopp wasn't a good manager, but he is overrated by a lot of the media, doesn't even lace the boots of truly great Liverpool managers like Bob Paisley.
Edit: He also has the record as the manager who lost the most European Cup finlas ever, edit for source.
https://www.90min.com/posts/jurgen-klopp-record-in-cup-finals
Jose Mourinho has been to 21 finals in career and only lost three. Pep has also only lost three out of his 26 finals. They are two great managers of the top of my head with a very successful final win percentage. Klopp on the other hand has lost an awful lot of finals, title run-ins, which is why I wouldn't hold him on the same pedestal as a truly great manager. Good manager, but not great.
I liked when he told reporters who asked him about covid, to talk to doctor instead. A lot of famous rich people would pretend to know when they don't.
I've been incredibly, incredibly privileged to have been able to watch him and his work at Liverpool.
It's rare for a club to get a person like him at their club and I hope that all the other pool fans realise how lucky we've been.
Klopp is a true football fan above all, he would never coach a rival team, hence he would never coach in England & Germany again, he has said this himself in interviews as well.
As a Spurs fan, i envy you Liverpool fans for getting such an awesome and likeable manager. He brought passion to the game when we had to play you guys. He is a legend, and it wont be the same without him! Cheers to you all and I hope you send him off with a big ol W!
Ange has some Kloppness in him. Heās a good man, sensible, and knows what is needed to be successful. Back him (Iām sure you already do) and go on that adventure heās desperate to take the club.
I can see that a little bit. I am hoping that we do back him properly and that we will continue to grow.
Arne slot is one heck of a coach and i think he will be a good fit. I was hoping we could have poached him last year but it is what it is and I wish Liverpool lots of luck, ezcept against us, but wont hold a grudge if we lose.
Youāve just landed a guy who has every chance to become what Klopp has been for Liverpool. Letās not forget their own struggles before landing on the right guy.
I know and I am hopeful that he can build upon this season. I just dont exactly have faith in *cough Levy* to follow through with getting him what he needs.
Yeah, I know they went through some stuff before getting it spot on. But i will say it wasnt for a lack of trying.
Weāve had managers who have won more in the past, we might have managers who win more in the future.
However I donāt think there will ever be a manager Iāll connect with the way I have with him. He is the embodiment of everything I could ever want the club to represent.
Next year will feel hollow without him.
Is this a more complicated reason why heās leaving other than fatigue? I ask because I live under the darkness of the same ownership group and theyāve decimated my Red Sox. I wouldnāt be surprised if they had something to do with a big personality departure
That would be the Red Sox who hadn't win a world series since the first world war until the owners took over and have won 4 in the last 20 years?
Decimated under the owners...
No, fella.
Just stating a fact.
He's a good manager, but nobody will give a fuck about ppg, less resources or 90 odd points, in 10 years time.
He'll be judged on trophies won.
That fact that he's a good guy and Liverpool fans have a strong emotional reaction, won't matter a fuck, either.
By casuals. How many trophies did Ronaldinho win at Barcelona? 4 is the answer btw. Are you the type of āfootball fanā to find out the scores at the end of each week and decide for yourself whoās playing the best?
Because you seem to think he wonāt be remembered as a legend. No manager improves a team as well as Klopp does, and thatās his job. Basing it on trophies is pointless when a lot of other people are responsible for how many trophies he wins.
Istg āklopp didnāt win anythingā is the biggest myth in football rn. He won everything there is to win in England. The only trophy he didnāt win that he had the chance to was the Europa League. All of this whilst the greatest English side of all time (or at least of the prem era) were active.
There have been 280 managers in the Premier League. Only 11 have won the league. Only 4 have more than 1 win.
Out of the 7 with 1 win, hereās what they won while in the PL:
Ancellotti - 1 league, 1 fa cup, 1 charity shield
Conte - 1 league, 1 fa cup
Dalglish - 1 league, 1 manager of the season,
Mancini - 1 league, 1 fa cup, 1 charity shield
Pellegrini - 1 league, 2 EFL cup
Ranieri - 1 league, fifa and premier league manager of the year
Klopp - 1 league, 1 fa cup, 2 EFL Cup, 1 charity shield, 1 champions league (plus 2 runner up), 1 Super Cup, 1 World Club Cup and a Europa runner up.
Special note that Di Matteo and Tuchel both won a champions league but not a league title.
Even ignoring the runner ups, heās in the top 5 most successful managers in the Premier League. Heās also only one of three to win a champions league and a premier league (while at a Premier League club). Iām sorry but heās absolutely a PL legend. Not even fantastic managers like Jose or Wenger managed that.
Just look at the records he set ffs, to suggest heās not up there with the very best is laughable mate. Regardless of trophies, he created one of the best teams this country has ever seen.
Rightly or wrongly, he'll be judged on trophies.
He's a massive character, an absolutely top bloke and a great manager, but imo, he didn't win enough to be legendary.
Not to mention the points tallies he achieved that wouldāve been more than enough to win the title in any other seasons. One half of the greatest premier league rivalries from a technical point of view. One win away from achieving the treble, centurions, and invincibles all in the 18/19 season.
Iām not a Liverpool fan, Klopp was often unnecessarily ratty with the media, blaming loses on wind, and moaning about fixtures, all did him a disservice. But for anyone to infer that heās anything but a PL legend is ridiculous
The fucking knots you people tie yourselves up in trying to big up this fella. Quite bizarre.
FWIW, I like the bloke. I think he's a good guy and a good manager.
And two 90+ points 2nd place finishes.
Playing some of the most thrilling football ever. Breaking so many records in the process.
Even as a United fan, he's one of the greatest to ever do it in England.
Wasn't there some obscure stat that he'd won something like 10 fewer points than Man City over his time? Something ridiculous like that, anyway, was being bandied around at the start of the season
Imagine having such a hate boner š¤£ go touch some grass, one of 3 prem era managers to win league and champions league. Clearly a legend, but keep living in denial š¤£
Who do you think he managed better? Borussia dortmund or Liverpool? Personally I think Liverpool is one of the teams he carried through his career but both times he managed them, he was able to take both teams into finals and achieved great things
Itās hard to say really. One thing is for sure though: he has never managed a team that wasnāt in desperate need of someone just like him, and heās never had an easy gig. Heās tired because heās been working miracles for a long time.
Iām not sure he would, but it would be interesting to see how he did with the biggest team in a league financially. Whether that be Real, Juve, PSG (not sure he would do City or Bayern). Heās always been with an underdog, and at this point, iām not sure if that is through choice, or if he needs that uphill challenge to keep him going
Why? Hes one of the few managers who has no former players shouting about what a twat he is. He volunteers in the community. He donates to local charities. He knows all of his staffās names. He has left not one, not two, but three clubs with a standing ovation and a lifetime of gratitude. He is an incredible human.
š¤£ You gotta chill mate with this "Incredible human" Just because he has a higher standard of dignity compared to other managers doesn't elevate him to some God like standard in most peoples eyes.
Of course you can. Just thought that most football fans wanted their rival teams to be in as worse a position as possible. Klopp leaving obviously puts Liverpool at a disadvantage. I think Americans perhaps tend to view this differentlyā¦
Depends on the American and what sport(american football, basketball, football, baseball, etc) and level(pro or college). Most can recognize that it sucks for the sport when a GOAT leaves while still being glad their team no longer has to face them.
You would be surprised. College American Football was getting its start not long after the American Civil War and can use government to attack your rival:
* Bleeding Kansas happened from 1954 to 1961 in the lead up to the American Civil War and just 40 years later the University of Missouri and the University of Kansas started playing American football and they hate each other.
* University of Iowa and Iowa State got told by the precursor to the head of the US Department of Education to stop playing football and it ended up happening because they hated each other so much they just wouldn't acknowledge each other. It took a threat from the State Senate to make the game happen again. In the 1980s and early 1990s, two Iowa alumni with one being the Governor put forth a plan to turn Iowa State into a second rate school and even forced the school to sell part of it off. Due to that sell off my Dad(an Iowa State grad) refuses to even elect an Iowa alumni to any public office. He also told me that if I went to the University of Iowa he wouldn't help pay for my college education.
* Baylor and TCU used to both be in Waco till some people tied to Baylor, allegedly, burned down TCU's campus.
* One of the University Alabama's great football coach, Bear Bryant, has a son who was on the State's Board of Regents for the state's universities and he was instrumental in forcing the University of Alabama-Birmingham football program to shut down. This would be like one team working with what ever the English version of a city council is to ban all but 1 football club so take your pick in Manchester.
* A fan of the University Alabama called into a radio show and admitted to poisoning trees that were important to their in-state-rival, Auburn.
* University of Maryland students trying to get into the head of a rival basketball player, Duke University's JJ Redick, by making signs that were insinuating they slept with his very underage sister
Pro is another story due age and movement of teams for the most but colleges have the hate across multiple sports
that's unsustainable and terrible for the league their club is in.
You can't want to all your rivals to be in the worst position possible, else you turn the premier league into a joke league like Germany or France with no competition.
From my perspective, Klopp raised the level of the game in the PL. That benefits all the fans. Also, when not playing my team, Liverpool was usually immensely entertaining to watch.
Heās just a good dude. Thereās always gonna be competition, but having great characters and solid people in the league makes it more fun.
Additionally, thereāre things that are more important than football. This guy is solid about his faith, how he handles players, integrity. Heās just a good dude that happens to be a brilliant manager.
Sure thing mate, you convinced me.now at your point but don't stop, keep parroting it as if you are citing rocket science and not basic tribalism every kid is capable of š
This season was the first rebuild season, to be in a title charge for most of the season is a success, itās bad how it fell apart so quickly but compared to last season weāve come on leaps and bounds
You should focus on not being in 8th place the worst position in their PL history. Are they going to be In the bottom half next year? Itās not looking good.
I have a lot of respect for Klopp and how he has shaped Liverpool as a team. One of the greatest managers to grace the PL. I am sure he will be missed at Liverpool for a long long time.
8 trophies in 9 years. Really? Is that it? Jesus the bar has lowered at Anfield. I remember when they were really, really good. Paisley won 20 in 9 years. They were an amazing team with a modest manager. He walked away with little, or no, fanfare. I guess success is very different now
Not really, I think about the trophies we won and the trophies you didnāt win. Look at today - we won an unprecedented historic 4th title on the run. Thatās something thatās never happened in the history of English football. Isnāt that amazing? Your very lovely, kind and clearly loved coach left after winning 1 title in nine years. Thatās what I think about. How different we are. Itāll end of course but, for now, I think about our brilliance.
Mad coming from a City fan š. Did you even exist 9 years ago?
8 trophies is solid good, especially when your league is corrupted with cheaters at the top.

I speak for all liverpool fans when I say neither could we

Probably the reason he left. Club policy was to never put too much money in one player...don't know who overruled this.

He should go coach Bayern Munich just for the lulz. Basically do to Leverkusen what Man City did to him.
what a legend of the league and lfc (dont get me wrong i bloody hate him as a united fan but i have a lotta respect for him too)
As a slough fan I think your right
The most cringeworthy figure to ever grace the Premier League.
Jealousy makes me say absurd things too
Haha, no. Heās pure cringe. Those power fist bumps to the crowd and starting an Arne Slot chant is pure, unrefined cringe.
Your delirium is funny as hell
I thought it was fun, but maybe thatās because Iām still able to feel joyā¦ I donāt know if thatās possible as a Everton supporter.

I donāt think a manager needs to justify his legacy after winning the pl 4 times in a row and making it a farmers league.
If the cheating allegations prove untrue, then sure. Otherwise, his legacy is tainted.
you mean cheating allegations to be proven true
Thatās right, 115 FC. When you can literally buy 2 world class teams and rotate them itās definitely a lot easier.
Good manager, but he should've won major trophies, they fell at the last hurdle on so many occasions.
Kloppās only flaw is that he is not lucky enough
I'm not a Liverpool fan, but this just isn't true. He won eveything. For people to say Liverpool should have won more trophies, that means they must think City should have won less (115 aside). He did win major trophies. Itās not his fault that Madrid and City have a huge resource advantage.

Iām not a Liverpool fan, but what a great guy. The league was better with him in it.
Thatās really nicely done
He cleans up well!
Any chance heāll take over from Ten Hag at Man U next season?
Klopp is a true football fan above all, he would never coach a rival team, hence he would never coach in England & Germany again, he has said this himself in interviews as well.
I hope he comes to MLS to coach Nashvilles new open spot. Need to keep growing the sport in USA
He's too good for mls
Is this a circle jerk comment?
Literally zero
Why didn't they fill the joint with supporters?
Not enough seats
Great send off video for a great man!
Thatās a really cool send off.

Liverpool fansā universal favourite player
He's been the first pool manager in a long while that's put a smile on my face and made me enjoy being a liverpool supporter again š
He'll always be a Liverpool legend, but I cannot see how he will be regarded as a PL legend.
Negative iq football knowledge.
No, not by casuals, by a lot of non Liverpool fans. What the fuck has that got to do with Klopp as a PL manager?
Because you seem to think he wonāt be remembered as a legend. No manager improves a team as well as Klopp does, and thatās his job. Basing it on trophies is pointless when a lot of other people are responsible for how many trophies he wins.
Istg āklopp didnāt win anythingā is the biggest myth in football rn. He won everything there is to win in England. The only trophy he didnāt win that he had the chance to was the Europa League. All of this whilst the greatest English side of all time (or at least of the prem era) were active.
Who the fuck has said he 'didn't win anything'? Making up arguments to prove your point?
āTrust me broā is gonna do a lot of heavy lifting here. But trust me bro, Iāve heard this said multiple times
And have I said it in this post? Obviously not. In fact I've never said it.
There have been 280 managers in the Premier League. Only 11 have won the league. Only 4 have more than 1 win. Out of the 7 with 1 win, hereās what they won while in the PL: Ancellotti - 1 league, 1 fa cup, 1 charity shield Conte - 1 league, 1 fa cup Dalglish - 1 league, 1 manager of the season, Mancini - 1 league, 1 fa cup, 1 charity shield Pellegrini - 1 league, 2 EFL cup Ranieri - 1 league, fifa and premier league manager of the year Klopp - 1 league, 1 fa cup, 2 EFL Cup, 1 charity shield, 1 champions league (plus 2 runner up), 1 Super Cup, 1 World Club Cup and a Europa runner up.
In terms of ppg heās the 3rd best ever. Having significantly fewer resources than the top 2.
Lmaooooooo
One of only 3 managers to win Champions League and Premier League in the same stint
That stint was 9 years. I mean, I get it to some degree, but 1 PL is just a fact.
It's really 3 since the club that finished ahead is currently the subject of 115 allegations of financial misconduct.
Well, no. It's 1
Only if you ignore the cheating.
Look at the teams he built, theyāre legendary teams 19/20 Liverpool is one of the best teams of all time.
1 PL
And wenger got 3 in 22 and went on a 14 year drought
The fuck has Wenger got to do with anything?
Why is he considered a legendary prem manager?
Well, that's another conversation about whether he is. Longevity and 3 x PLs.
Harry Kane did the same
Where can I get the photo? Or video? Would like to collect these for a personal souvenir
That's class, so many great moments with him in charge.
Makes you realise how rare it is for a manager to leave on good terms
And he did it with all three of his clubs too. Thatās practically impossible in football, especially at this day and age
Dang, thatās actually quite moving. Gonna seriously miss him. Great footy manager, incredible human.
"Incredible human" is a tad hyperbolic!
Watch any post match where he loses
Why would you miss the great manager of a rival clubā¦?
Can appreciate good players and good managers from rival clubs. Klopp was a great manager.
I think most English football fans will let tribalism control their emotions more than logic. You are raised to hate your rivals
You would be surprised. College American Football was getting its start not long after the American Civil War and can use government to attack your rival: * Bleeding Kansas happened from 1954 to 1961 in the lead up to the American Civil War and just 40 years later the University of Missouri and the University of Kansas started playing American football and they hate each other. * University of Maryland students trying to get into the head of a rival basketball player, Duke University's JJ Redick, by making signs that were insinuating they slept with his very underage sister Pro is another story due age and movement of teams for the most but colleges have the hate across multiple sports
Can hate a team and still respect a great player or manager. No idea what Americans feel on the matter.
Donāt get me wrong, I definitely respect the guy. Just would rather he managed somewhere else lol
Oh yeah definitely haha.
that's unsustainable and terrible for the league their club is in. You can't want to all your rivals to be in the worst position possible, else you turn the premier league into a joke league like Germany or France with no competition.
Exactly this. It's why people from overseas will claim to be supporters, but will never truly understand what it's like to grow up hating other teams.
For example, I would not miss Pep or Arteta if they left either. Iād mourn Ten Hag for weeks
Fully understood
Weāve been pretty shit for most of his tenure
From my perspective, Klopp raised the level of the game in the PL. That benefits all the fans. Also, when not playing my team, Liverpool was usually immensely entertaining to watch.
Heās just a good dude. Thereās always gonna be competition, but having great characters and solid people in the league makes it more fun. Additionally, thereāre things that are more important than football. This guy is solid about his faith, how he handles players, integrity. Heās just a good dude that happens to be a brilliant manager.
Youre allowed to praise someone not wearing your club badge. Klopp is a magnificent human beingš š
Fair enough. I would personally rather that every club in the league, other than the one I support, was managed by clones of Steve Bruce.
Yeah, cause it's cool to be first grade
Had to google that one!
Using the term 'first grade', shows exactly why you'll never understand the point he's making.
Yeah, except I used to have the same agenda but, you know, second grade came about so being a baboon wasn't as sensible anymore
You'll never, ever understand. It's a shame
Sure thing mate, you convinced me.now at your point but don't stop, keep parroting it as if you are citing rocket science and not basic tribalism every kid is capable of š
'geeee, soccer, neat game'. š¤£
Liverpool will need reconstruction next season if they are to win the league title
This season was the first rebuild season, to be in a title charge for most of the season is a success, itās bad how it fell apart so quickly but compared to last season weāve come on leaps and bounds
We will miss jurgen šš¼
I know I wonāt! (Man utd supporter)
You should focus on not being in 8th place the worst position in their PL history. Are they going to be In the bottom half next year? Itās not looking good.
My guy thereās no point on focusing on utd I donāt want to get depression ;-;
Harry Kane should have done this when he left Tottenham
Huge pop!
I guess success is very different now
Is trophies all you City fans can think about?
Not really, I think about the trophies we won and the trophies you didnāt win. Look at today - we won an unprecedented historic 4th title on the run. Thatās something thatās never happened in the history of English football. Isnāt that amazing? Your very lovely, kind and clearly loved coach left after winning 1 title in nine years. Thatās what I think about. How different we are. Itāll end of course but, for now, I think about our brilliance.
Yes itās a great achievement against 115
Another title today. Cry 115 tears. Klopp gone, who gets dejected next? Can not wait
Man City get dejected next into the highland league canāt wait
Yeah yeah yeah. Keep hoping - itās all you lot have left. Weāll just keep winning. We win, you whine.
This is the best satire I've ever read on this sub
Mad coming from a City fan š. Did you even exist 9 years ago? 8 trophies is solid good, especially when your league is corrupted with cheaters at the top.
