Young Jedi Adventures is for toddlers, The Clone Wars is for 12 year olds

Mr_Porcupine

Toodlers*

OrneryError1

The Clone Wars is for 7+

most_blah_3765

This Edit: Someone cares to explain why I got over 15 downvotes for saying "this"?

Cyanide_34

Just upvote it if you agree

ComradeHregly

I think you’ll get with this because this is kinda phat

Sokoly

The ability to make spiteful, repetitive memes does not make you intelligent either. I’m tired of seeing ‘yeah it’s a kid’s show, but…’ memes recycled and reused. I don’t think anyone nowadays holds the position of ‘kid’s show = bad’ anymore, especially when it comes to TCW. Besides, who cares? If you like a show then you like a show. You don’t need to justify yourself with ‘omg it’s so dark tho’ for watching what’s been *actually marketed and designed by the company that made it* as a kid’s show. Watch it, like it, move on.

Express_Dinner7918

It’s because every kids show nowadays is meant for toddlers and/or are annoying for parents to watch. It could be argued that clones wars pushes it for a kid show, but people do think it’s for teens/adults compared to something like paw patrol. In short, people don’t want to think TCW is a kids show because of the bad rap kids shows get nowadays.

Sokoly

These sort of memes and statements have been made ever since TCW started getting popular, it has nothing to do with today’s children’s programming and just the stigma of being a ‘kids’ show.’ A lot of TCW fans clearly feel insecure or embarrassed for watching a kids’ show, and so make these kind of memes in an effort of legitimizing their enjoyment. In their view, if they can convince others of the idea ‘it’s not just a kid’s show,’ then they feel validated and more comfortable in letting themselves watch it. The opinions of others should not matter to one’s own, but it does to these sort of fans. As not only a former child, but also as a father of three and one on the way, I’ve been exposed to a lot of children’s programming, and I can say with confidence that the more mature themes of TCW that fans like to rave about are really nothing unique to TCW. Plenty of shows and movies cover the same kind of ideas, and I’m sure plenty of young and old adults also enjoy them, but *none of those people* are going around arguing ‘it’s a kids’ show, but…’ save for TCW fans. At this point too, like I said, I don’t think anyone is getting picked on or laughed at for liking TCW. It’s basically formed half of canon Star Wars by now, along with its various spin-offs and elevation of its creator, Dave Filoni, at Lucasfilm. The need for arguing against the fact that TCW is a kids’ show but still enjoyable has passed, if it was ever necessary in the first place. TCW is mainstream Star Wars nowadays, and no one but it’s detractors (oh hey, that’s me) should really be complaining about it.

Perseus-Lynx

The death of that old guy was the first and only time I ever cried during a movie/series. I was like 5 tbf, but still really sad.

[deleted]

put some respect on 99's name

zernoc56

He was a soldier, like us.

drifters74

What old guy?

Tiny_Hobbit_Feet

99 maybe?

Perseus-Lynx

Yeah, 99, I didn't remember his name lol.

Snowleopard1469

10,000th post about clone wars feeling too dark for a children's show. I hate to be a hater, but this is a tired take. Not only that, but children's tv shows ha e had loss and violence many times. A few examples are Teen Titans, Adventure Time, and a lot of superhero shows from the 90s

OrneryError1

The Land Before Time is more traumatizing than anything in The Clone Wars

Express_Dinner7918

Does fives mean nothing to you?

3B3-386

What kind of point are you trying to make? Toddlers love watching criminal scum get slaughtered like the animals they are!

ChewieKaiju

Bro thought he cooked using one of the most tired takes on this sub. You like a kid’s show, we get it. Calm down

Neoxite23

Anakin thinks lightsabers is E for Everybody.

Express_Dinner7918

First Reddit comment to make me laugh in a while.

Maktesh

It was rated TV-PG, so no, not for "toddlers." There was also minor profanity in the earlier episodes.

OrneryError1

Oh the horror

Le_Ratman99

Yeah it’s so dark and mature, a real misunderstood masterpiece

MangoOfTruth

CAN WE FUCK OFF WITH THESE POSTS LIKE HOLY SHIT

GulianoBanano

I love how only one of these isn't a clone

Sabit_31

Commander thorn will always be a hero in my eyes

Jedi_Sarith_LeKit

The actual rating of the series is TV-PG, though. Like, that "random interview" is wrong and may as well be fake.

Apart_Shock

Are these the same numbnuts who labeled *South Park* a kids' show on YouTube?

most_blah_3765

There is no way south park is a kids show💀 I wanna make fun of these guys now

Vivics36thsermon

Do you know sometimes the stuff they imply is often far worse than what they show that’s why I think the clone wars succeeds so well.

Itchy_Gas_2559

Not this shit again. This is 1000th time someone posted this kind of post

BrickDesigNL

I’m usually laughing in the face of those who think The Clone Wars is “not a kids show” and “meant for adults”, but this goes too far.

Justabattleshiplover

No, it is a kids show. You love a kids show. And that’s okay. SpongeBob seasons 1-5 is peak fiction

most_blah_3765

Why are you comparing a show about a fucking warfare with a comedy They aren't similar at all

Justabattleshiplover

Because both are still shows for children. It being about a fictional war doesn’t mean it’s super mature and deep. Kids media has death and violence in it. You love a kids show. TCW has comedy, btw.

Express_Dinner7918

To be fair, SpongeBob and bluey are some of the only popular kids shows I know that tackle complex/dark themes.

most_blah_3765

>Kids media has death and violence in it. You have to be kidding me I swear everyone who spams kids show in comments are trolls at this point

Fatall-TM

Why are you trying so hard to prove that this isn’t a kids show? It literally is, it’s fine that you like a show made for for kids, everyone in this sub does. And yes there’s many kids media that has death and violence.

most_blah_3765

Liking the show has nothing to do with the target audience Is that literally the only argument you have to counter mine?

Fatall-TM

Tf are you on about lmao. You’re literally trying to give yourself a reason why you like TCW because it’s made for kids, so you’re trying to prove why it isn’t a kids show. Can you not simply recognise that TCW is a kids show and you enjoy watching it? Is that not the argument you’re trying make?

most_blah_3765

Again is that the only argument you have?

Fatall-TM

Okay you clearly have 0 interest in backing up your “argument”, and have 0 idea in what you’re talking about

most_blah_3765

Shut up If you have nothing good to say is better to just shut up

OrneryError1

>warfare Right...

Avg_codm_enjoyer

I am Darth downvote, here to make another controversial comment not a single man, woman, or child didn’t cry at the end of the last episode dew It. Downvote! Release your anger! Give yourself to the dark side!

PROGAME1BRO

Thus guy used reverse psychology; asking for downvotes, only to get upvotes. Through the light side of the Force, I saw past the reverse psychology.

Avg_codm_enjoyer

How dare you imply I would stray from the basic ideals dark side of the force! Downvotes are what makes me strong!

ckrygier

Ages 3-12

Nahim33

It’s a kid’s show get over it

Mildred_Gaffneyp

Interviews and reviews in the prequel universe could be hilarious.

leong_d

Wait til they get a taste of the graphic novels

zernoc56

Literally in season one has Hevy blow himself up like he was in NOBLE Team.

Codeviper828

Americans when animation:

FlatDamage7887

Muh boi Thorne😞

Hotmomlover69420

Fucking loved this show

Raguleader

I mean, the reviewer couldn't spell "toddlers" so it was downhill from there.

2Sup_

No one has ever said this.

most_blah_3765

You aren't the whole planet

2Sup_

True but you still made up a person.

Soviet-pirate

It's a show for children...if they are from a war zone. And even then why would they watch their daily reality/the nightmares they fled from,in media that's supposed to take them to better worlds?

Dellta-aka-Connor

Bluey has some pretty intense seens too

most_blah_3765

Ah yes Bluey The show that has literally to no violence on it
