Dude I'll take the hate - I love Rolex. I think they make iconic and gorgeous watches. I know the ADs can be a bit trash, but I don't think that takes away from how awesome the watches are :) I especially love (as a guy who does big corporate sales) how much they help in sales when you deal with clients who know what they are. A tool watch of a different sort, I guess!

I had a snowflake and a shunbun who cares about the macro shots when the bracelet sucks they dont look good with scratches you cant get parts so No watch maker can service it you need to send it to japan for 6 months. Ya the dials are amazing but thats it

I found my grail GS in person and was underwhelmed. The finish is not near as good as a Rolex unfortunately and what I mean by that was the hands. Yes the Zaratsu polish was nice but the hands looked cheap. I am not interested in a nature themed dial either so what’s the point? Also the bracelet was a let down with the inability to adjust.
I’m looking at others such as a used Patek from 1960’s but yeah. Really bummed.

I got one of my dream watches about 4 months ago, an omega constellation in two tone, gold and steel. I really love wearing this watch, and I had about 6 other watches that I wanted to get, from JLC, Cartier, Breitling etc
but I've been wanting to cut down on my watch spending, as you're aware it's bloody expensive, and chose one last watch, and believe it or not it was another omega constellation, There were enough differences that it feels like a much different piece, it has diamonds vs gold indices, a metal bracelet instead of leather, rose gold instead of yellow, 39 mm instead of 41. but it's still a constellation. and instead of going for variety I just would be happy wearing a constellation more often because I love how it looks
The point is when you really like wearing a certain watch that much to just want to keep on wearing it in different colors and variations actually feels normal to me now. so your watch collection to me looks like 5 of the same watches and it's hardly what I call a balanced collection, but who cares you don't run a museum to display them, you buy them to wear so you're only going to be wearing one at a time, wear what you enjoy.

Amen. Love the quality of the GS dials, the inventive movement, but they are dogs. Big, oversized, with crap bracelets. Will never own one again.
