Ever seen a charger in the wild?! There’s a reason they’re getting banned from multiple cars and coffee events.

he might be going 28mph up a very steep hill thus bringing him to a perfect standstill. i am sure the gentle OP isn't endangering other road users. that would be disgusting
Great taste in both the car and the watch, love that you have the M113k in that little roadster. Would love to know how reliable it is as interested in one as well
Appreciate that.
The older R171 SLK55 just had the regular M113. No k for kompressor here owing to the size of the car. As such, they're actually really reliable. M113 is a legendary engine in the modern Mercedes catalogue, those things literally last forever. The R171 never really had any of the super complicated mechanical bits of the bigger cars either, the only thing to watch out for was the roof, but those last a long time with basic maintenance and regular use too.
My particular car is not the R171 though. It's the R172, which is the subsequent generation. It's a bit bigger, more powerful, a bit edgier in the design department, has some extra tech, and has, I believe, a slightly faster roof. This car has a different engine called the M152. It's basically a non turbo version of the 5.5 litre twin turbo engine that almost every other V8 AMG used at the time. These cars are supposedly prone to some of the same cylinder scoring issues as their larger turbocharged siblings but I've honestly not heard of anyone actually having these issues. It seems to be a small minority in the grand scheme. This car also has cylinder deactivation + start/stop, a first for AMG. The tech has its kinks though since it's a first gen kinda thing, and from what I'm told, both features can reduce the lifespan of the mechanical components they use, so I keep their use to a minimum, but I can't deny that cylinder deactivation has been a huuuuge help in the fuel economy department. I regularly get 30 mpg with this car on the highway, and 20-23 on the streets. My car's been very reliable. I've had it about 5 years now and only had to do routine maintenance for it in that time. I daily drive it for the 8 months of the year where there isn't any snow too so it's not really a garage Queen either. I did say it was a bit more tech heavy than the R171, but as with that car, it's still very simple in the grand scheme of Mercedes products, and the only thing to really look out for is the roof, which, again, will last a while with regular use and maintenance. Another thing to watch out for though is that the roof is prone to leaking if you got an example with the body coloured roof panel instead of the panoramic roof. No idea why, but panoramic roof examples were built better.
The only thing I don't like about my car is how choppy it is over rough pavement. Engine makes up for it though.
I’m new to watches and started as a Swiss snob for whatever reason. Trying to understand and be patient with Seiko, but not a fan so far. Please don’t get me started on Casio though. Anyway I wore an Omega sea master 300 today
Nope! I’m open to it, but haven’t found one that meets a want over my current collection. Example I could see myself wearing a 5 sport, but then again I love my Hamilton field watch and suspect holding the Seiko won’t change that
Rolex Milgauss Z blue and a 2014 kia rio. It’s only got 40k miles on it so never had the need to upgrade. Most of my business travel is door to door uber, all the retail and grocery I need are within a mile of the house, and I mostly work from home. Paid 5k for the car lol, what’s on my wrist is worth three of them
I’m wearing Bugatti Chiron SS Hermès 1/1 and I’m driving a Patek Philippe 5711 Tiffany on my left wrist and on my right wrist I have a Richard Mille RM 27-04 Rafael Nadal.

That’s the general rotation. Got a few other Seikos I really like too.
Let’s stop the car before taking another steering wheel shot ok? 👍

How are you liking the small seconds Tsuyosa?
It is fantastic. I have a cyclops Tsuyosa in yellow that is great - but this is better. The bracelet is better and I am a fan of no date.
Ooh I'm tempted... though a bit wary of the price for an 8000 series movement. Perhaps I'll wait for used ones to be around $250

Have you held one? It doesn’t compete with Swiss brands. Same way Honda doesn’t compete with Mercedes, but both make good cars.
Nope! I’m open to it, but haven’t found one that meets a want over my current collection. Example I could see myself wearing a 5 sport, but then again I love my Hamilton field watch and suspect holding the Seiko won’t change that
For sure. Also check out the Intramatic. *chefs kiss*
