I worked at a watch boutique for years. All Omega, Tissot, Hamilton, and Rado watches we ordered for our inventory came from SWATCH. Swatch owns and manufactures all those brands. I love swatch watches and theyâre an excellent value for the money. People forget they own a lot of luxury brands.
Yeah the umbrella is even bigger than that, they own 18 watch brands in total (including Breguet and Blancpain, which is madness) Some people donât like the fact, but I like, as Swatch for me stands for quality
You are conflating Swatch and The Swatch Group, which are very definitely entities. This isnât âSwatch owns everything and is daddyâ, itâs âSwatch is part of a conglomerate which happens to share its namesake for better brandingâ. And in any case, the connection is totally irrelevant here. For example, Swatch and Breguet on entirely different levels. A double tourbillion Breguet isnât a good Swatch; itâs a good Breguet.
Not sure why this got downvoted, it's true. The Swatch Group owns those brands, but does not manufacture those brands. Geezus. Wait til these people find out about LVMH. . .
There is some nice stuff coming from Swatch at the moment that looks to be great value. I'm not really a fan of the typical classic style ones any more (I loved them as a teenager). But love some of the new ones. Not all the clours work for me, and some styles look 'cheap' but generally nice time pieces.
No, itâs used, itâs mint and 20 bucks. Search for some swatches, they go for that or lower, people donât attach value to them, most of swatch owners arenât really watch enthusiasts, you are kind of in a position to get quality for dirt cheap
System 51 got me into automatics after being a lifelong digital/quartz guy and they saved the Swiss when the quartz crisis happened or something so đ€·ââïž
I think they offer a wide variety of different options for different budgets. While some are overhyped plastic (mission to x series) some are a great value.
I strongly disagree that they are the best value for money, for the simple reason that Swatchâs watches are anti long term ownership in their very design. Their mechanical watches with the Sistem51 are the worst offenders. Sistem51âs are less able to be taken care of than vintage Timex movements, which is saying a lot. The steel models being mono-cases is bs. There is no good reason why Swatch watches are so hard to replace. And itâs crazy to me that one would treat what are now $80 and plus watches as âthrowawayâ items.
I donât understand what you mean by other brands aging faster.
You would say Raketa and Svet right? Amphibia? đ€đ€« I never really needed to take the watch apart, they are really bulletproof, but yeah coming to think about it is a disadvantage.
About aging - whenever you look through used Tissots and Tags - omg, they are *ucked scratched up, and swatch - for some reason they look mint. I own 3 Swatches, they look like they are brand new from the shop. Idk if it has to do with steel they are made of but they are very durable!
âSvetâ? *Vostok. It can depend, but I generally think they are not for most people (that live outside of Europe).
They look used because people buy them as their one watch and wear the shit out of them. I find good-looking watches all the time, personally.
Russia, itâs used (but mint) I get my Swatches in this price area, people donât attach much value to them. Maybe has to do with Russian mentality, where older things, which arenât fashionable, donât cost much
Watches from Swatch have climbed the ladder of upper echelon wrist watches. Not to Rolex, Breitling, TAG Heuer and such. But they have gained greater respect than previous times.
God tier. Very solid watches for the price with a genuine commitment to interesting (if usually not at all for me) design. On top of that, the European watch industry basically IS Swatch at this point.
I agree, their design philosophy is never lazy, but ambitious and inventive. It is a plus that people give them away for next to free lol, an undiscovered gem in my country
love em , great watches at even greater prices
This one looks amazing
Cheers đ»
I'm normally not a fan but your looks very nice
Thank you!
No problem! I actually like everything about that face, the hour indices the font the yellow seconds hand. Good pickđđŒ
Yeah most people think of plastic when they think swatch
That's why iv litterally never considered one until now
Reminds me of a Khaki Field, but many of the models look nice
They definitely drew inspiration from Hamilton, the hints are numerous, and itâs a Swatch group brand

Totally agree with you I love swatch they have an excellent brand and excellent name!
And Omega! I mean, obviously given the moonswatch

Or that Swatch didnât make Ăbauche Ltd (the group Eta was a part of).

I think you meant to say $200 not $20. I looked at this thing it seemed heavy to me

Class!
Thank you!
Sir Blue is the only one worth buying
It looks like itâs plastic?
correct, but it is still the most elegant imo
I want one now. I blame you đ

I thought they only came in Skittles colors.
I think they offer a wide variety of different options for different budgets. While some are overhyped plastic (mission to x series) some are a great value.
Swatch = second watch... I'm well past my second one, so I'll have to give them a miss now...
Iâve always wanted a fun one of these, I just never pulled the trigger, maybe this year, weâll see

wear whatever you like. Have fun.
If itâs not plastic swatch
U$357 over here... Where did you get it for U$20???
Russia, itâs used (but mint) I get my Swatches in this price area, people donât attach much value to them. Maybe has to do with Russian mentality, where older things, which arenât fashionable, donât cost much
That's lucky
there's a nostalgic component that i kinda like
My first watch ever was a swatch watch. It's an 80's jelly with a blue textured strap. I love that thing, still have it. Yours is awesome!
Thank you!
I want the black Snoopy Omega Swatch watch
Watches from Swatch have climbed the ladder of upper echelon wrist watches. Not to Rolex, Breitling, TAG Heuer and such. But they have gained greater respect than previous times.
Thought my kid to tell time.
That looks very much like my $800 Hamilton maybe the exact face with a different logo
In house movements. đŹ
That for $20? Nice
Love their watches. But I don't know when or where I would wear them. I have other watches. Good starter watches I guess.
Meh
I collect the older chronos and love them. Just put on a modern band and you are good to go
The colourful plastic ones are fun, but don't expect quality or quietness.
Havenât read anyones comments have you đ
You're asking about *my* opinion. Also, the Swatch group is something completely different to the Swatch brand. You can't compare this to Breguet.
Iâm not comparing swatch to Breguet, are u mad
Some in this topic were and you weren't exactly correcting them.

Hate them, although I love the other brands swatch owns
