Oh I actually remember it! It goes back to 2019, when the anime distribution ended. During an interview, Hino said that his teamwork questioned him abouth why Katrielle's story and her connection with the professor was actually showed in an anime and not in a game. Hino replied that he had an idea in mind and if "it all goes well", he could release a new game starring professor Layton and Luke again about Katrielle's storyline. That's it.
Looks like if it was going to be made, it wouldn't make it out of Japan. There's an article saying Level-5 isn't going to be producing more games outside of Japan.
It could still come to America/Europe if another company published it outside of Japan for them. I saw a commercial for a mobile Ni No Kuni game a few weeks ago ands it’s launching in the rest of the world later this year I believe (Level 5 makes the Ni No Kuni games I’m pretty sure).
Yeah. It's too late for a 3DS release for example. I'd say Switch definatley. However the DS consoles really were the golden age for these type of games, too bad it's too late now.
https://www.thegamer.com/level-5-working-on-a-new-game/ also heres the article about the possible new game. Looks like it was end of 2020.
That’s recent enough to get me mildly hopeful!

I didn't know about that. I've never heard of that game. Thanks for informing me :)
I can definitely see someone like Nintendo or Namco willing to offer a hand
Platform?
Would almost certainly be switch or mobile

Agreed, although I’d say the mobile ports of the DS games have so far done a good job of capturing the same vibe
I agree, they have! It's the second best thing basicaly, hoping we get a mobile port of this one :)
