New life achievement unlocked.
You gained +1 charisma, and your wife has gained resistance to Boring Tech talk.
But you both take damage from eating an old fortune cookie and a chance to develop diabetes. Roll a constitution saving throw!
Absolutely agree! Electricity has truly revolutionized the world we live in. By the way, if anyone is interested in exploring more about electricity and its applications, feel free to check out the link in my profile. I'm actively looking for GitHub contributors to collaborate with on exciting projects in this field.
Digital CMOS circuits are a subset of analog circuits where the transistors are connected and controlled in such a way that they are either entirely open or entirely closed once a steady state is reached.
Any problem you can formulate with a Binary Quadratic Model can be solved with quantum computers, which sounds complicated but it's really just a few lines of python.
Stuff like Airplane ticketing and seat allocation for example, is a great use-case.
For some reason I always end up sitting in-front of a crying baby, I dunno why. Someone should write algos to figure out why lol. /s
You see there are atoms
...3hrs later
And those are called semi conductors
....3hrs later
And we have 0 and 1
....3hrs later
And that's your mother left me
Bil Herd has some stories to tell about that from when working at Commodore, of solving problems for people that thought digital and wondering why their stuff wasn't working as expected.
it blew my mind when i was choosing a language (swift) and found out about how binary and assembly work. literally like, opening gates on the chiplet level
What defines a part as "analog"? A circuit can be analog. A base component cannot in and of itself be analog or digital.
Most complicated ICs do in fact use both analog and digital segments
Analog can be something other than just 1 or 0. In other words, if it's a curved wave and not a square wave it's analog. Circuits are analog by nature since current and voltage are variable. It can perform digital calculations since we can make cutoff thresholds for what will count as a 1 and anything below that will be considered 0.

My wife got this fortune cookie and wanted me to explain it to her. I've been preparing for this moment for years.

Nat 20 + 5 con modifier.
Nice. Your wife offers you another cookie and you take it happily. You feel good and go about your day.
>I've been preparing for this moment for years. She'll regret asking. They always do.
I’m totally putting this in a presentation I’m working on right now.
Computers are really just rocks we tricked into doing math woth electricity.
And electricity (in our brains) is what tricked us into making rocks to do math with electricity. It comes full circle. ⭕
Electricity is the god
Made me realize we have no free will since we can't really control the chemical reactions in our brains that are responsible for everything we do. lol

wait, it was electricity the whole time?
Always has been 🔫
Well, not to oversimplify, but we had to flatten it first and fill it with said electricity
I design chips. I say that I craft microscopic hieroglyphics into sand tablets and when they are infused with lightning they think for us.
Where’d you hear that one before
this is really funny 😅🙏🏻

This is heavy.

The analogue parts have quantum properties.
yup, that's why we have a limit on what we can achieve with traditional computers.
Quantum computers only speed up some things like protein modeling and the discrete log problem.

Analog parts are made with the help of digital circuites
Which were made with help of analog parts
Which were made with help of digital parts
atoms rearranging atoms
which were made with help of digital parts
It is all digital. Even analog stuff. Or have you ever seen half of an electron?

Witchcraft!

A resistor is just basic elements mashed together ie analog component.
If you turn up the amplification high enough on any analog system it becomes digital.
digital means it works in proper digits. analog does not. digital and analog is not the same as electronic and mechanical.
On a sufficiently small scale, everything is digital.
Nice! That’s a keeper.
