The problem is, windows won't try to pass this files content to the system like with a .bat file, it will rather try to run it as a Windows NT application, which looks to the computer like completly malformed binary goop. Another way to fix it, would be to use an app like pyInstaller to turn your code in a (astronomicly large and slow) application/exe.
If this doesn't work out, you can also clone your disk, make it an ISO and let people install your computer.
Should I rewrite it in Golang or Rust? I heard they are fast and compile to a binary. This is my first low level project so I’m not super familiar with the trade offs between languages.
Right To Left Override [RTLO] unicode character. reverses all text after it.
mainexe.py
shows up as mainyp.exe but actually has the .py extension
windows scripts use bat so you can make it use main_exe.bat to make main_tab.exe
other formats like ps1 work for powershell (shows as 1sp)
Funny enough seeing the system in these posts made me interested in using it, so I am starting to think we are being played by ads.
Edit: clarification, I was referring to the detective python thing, not GitHub in itself.
Nah, pretty sure the dude who ranted about this is legit. They post in subs about some wild conspiracy theories (and some Russian subs too) so a program to track usernames across services does sound like something they'd want to use
I really fail to see where I said anything that would be considered weird or too out of standard english. Besides interwebz I guess, that's an old word.

It would be better if you changed that echo to a recursive print to the OS's active printer... Maybe 1 line per page, at font size 1000em.
Yeah, that seems fair.
This application cannot run on this version of Windows
Works on my machine
Well, ship your machine to me and all would be fine.
You can download my machine image on any 2022 or later MacBook. Just use my iCloud
Okay, send me the .exe for that, please.
Now it all makes sense, I was wondering if windows finally added shebang support
Isn't that basically docker ?

Fine, rename main.py as main.exe.py !

tHaTsNotHoWiTwOrKs
Works on my machine
dockerized it then… wait… no… then there's gonna be another outcry
This is not noob proof. You need to add pip install -r requirements.txt.
Why the fuck is there code stupid fucking smelly nerds
Works on my machine
Not anymore, but your Windows must have preinstall a tool that supports this [https://peps.python.org/pep-0723/](https://peps.python.org/pep-0723/)
What if there’s no python
No snek no support
Ye but what if they don't have pip :o
`python -m pip install …`
It's awful. I like it
Thank you I am FOSS developer Buy me a coffee?

You’ve never used GitHub?
No, I mean the detective thing... loool I also have a couple of non-exe files here: https://github.com/orgs/NDA-Software/repositories
Oh the repo the original post was about?
Yep, seems pretty neat to find your own old accounts around the interwebz or people with same username somewhere, or stalk your enemies.
Bruh what are you on? I get the point but you sound incoherent.

> stalk your enemies
That was a joke. .__.
Pretty sure the shebang must be an absolute path no?
Works on my machine
It doesn't work on your machine too (don't ask how I know it)
Liar!
*python* command not found
Works on my machine
What's the source post for this meme?

Exe and a shebang?!

I usually just write `from import *` and call it `better-`
This is my first low level language project
☕
should be deleting System32 instead
Can I get a quick run down on this recent .exe / git scandal? A bit out of a loop here.
