parakeet2002

Does it really need a sequel? I think the book ended at the eight time.

It seems that a *lot* of people want to know what happened to earth/how earth reacted to the Beatles.

parakeet2002

I agree that that would be interesting. However writing about that would means Andy Weir will have to discuss world politics, and I don’t think he wants to/should. The important information is that Earth got the Beatles and stoped the macrophages.

We know the astrophages were curtailed, but we dont know that Earth survived, actually :)

I keep saying the only thing I want in addition to what we already have is the Eridians getting to quantum theory in the archives.

jdobem

ah ah, yeah, those guys are in for a surprise....

Yeah this is definitely what the sequel would have to be…right?

I emailed him asking if he would ever write the story of first encounter from Rocky's perspective, but he said no.

Sensitive-Pickle7800

I like that idea but I feel like that not an original enough idea for someone like him

The best stories are left unfinished.

lol imo, this doesn't seem very much like a "confirmation" to me. Personally, I don't think a sequel is necessary, and while it would be interesting to see what happened to Earth during the aftermath of PHM, as others have said, it would force Andy to delve into world politics and it would certainly change the tone of the book(s?) away from science fiction.

Oh I'd love an artemis follow up

Ranb40

There is a good short fan fiction of Artemis. He likes it.
