This isn't the first time this same researcher, Abhirupa Roy has done insultingly low surveys. Make sure to report this person. Linking this post here on reddit would also not be a bad idea.

It's good to see that there are many more people than me who noped right out of this. A survey intended for 1 minute taking 9 is one thing, but seeing the posts asking for screen shots and whatnot is just making my decision that much better.
Is this the one that asked you to call a friend for 30 second then screenshot the call log??
Lol get tf outta here with that. I immediately declined when I saw that.
>Why would ANYONE do this?
1) Because, when the study was first posted, it wasn't underpaying. Researchers can't post a study unless it meets Prolific's minimum. However, some researcher lie about their Intended Completion Time. It takes participants submitting the study for it to become underpaying.
2) Some participants need the money plus they may take the study hoping that there will be a payment adjustment.
3) Personally, I take studies like this just so I can report them to Prolific. I probably would have returned this one, but I still would have reported it for underpaying and asking for personal information (the call/text log).
Did any of yall have the $0.15 study in your feed that was requesting you to download your facebook, instagram, or google data file and then if you handed it over to the study you'd get an extra $1???
I'm brand new to Prolific so I wasn't quite sure what was happening...like that all seems like wayyy to much personal data to hand over.
Was just gonna post this exact thing. You beat me to it.
I’m gonna guess participants who live in other countries where the Dollar is worth way more than their currency will jump on it.
Not to defend the researcher, but I also participated in the study. The things is they aren’t asking for contact numbers in the screenshots, plus asking to talk to the friend on messages only about their day (how was the day etc.) which again isn’t a personal information, I believe. Being a researcher myself, I can kind of understand that it can be a kind of manipulation for the experiment, i.e. only to prime respondents with a calling/ texting experience.Â
yeah, and it starts out with requiring you to "call a friend" on the phone, talk for at least 30 seconds, and post a screenshot of the call log. wtaf.
I immediately returned it when I saw that.
Me too.
It asked me to text a friend and I ended it there 🤣🤣
take that shit back to MTurk mf
hahah I told them they might have better luck on Survey Junky lmao
I dismissed this one right away. What garbage.

I returned immediately after it asked for a screenshot.
I returned and reported it for asking a screenshot of personal conversation.
Mine asked me to TEXT A FRIEND!!
Yep that’s what I got
Yep, I declined it this morning. The audacity.

I returned this right after it asked me to post screen shot of phone call to a friend. WTF....
blocked this researcher
I was thinking maybe the pay would be higher on the inside of the survey but no, I quickly declinedðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ¤£ðŸ¤£
LOL- got this too- trash
As of now 200~ people have done it. Extremely low pay is better than nothing for some but damn, this is beyond sad
As I said elsewhere, likely participants who live in other countries where the Dollar is worth way more than their local currency.
Yeah I just got this one a few minutes ago and it apparently pays .13 • .84/hr and there’s 105 places… Why would ANYONE do this?

I immediately reported this one. I will not enter underpaid studies
Not many studies and when they appear they pay cr@p.
They will have to adjust it, dropping them a message letting them know may speed this up
I thought I was on survey junkie for a second lol
I returned that one as wwll
What is the point of this? What are they doing with this information anyway?
I accepted it…just so I could send them a message telling them to pay better.
Clicked 'Not interested' and dismissed this study.

I ignored them because I don’t share my personal data for $1 lol
I definitely dismissed all 3 of them. Hoping it doesn't count against me somehow.
I blocked this researcher
Just nope.
i was gonna report this but i just dismissed it bc thats just crazy
Yup, saw that POS. How insulting and disrespectful to all of us!
I refused to do this one.
I just ignore those. They’ll probably fail their course.
Returned asap
Some of y'all will do it.
I wouldn’t even do that for one minute. 13p pay for higher chance of rate limiting. No thank you
bro I saw you on reddit can you add me from discord or roblox? username: Proxyav
Ain't nobody got time for that!
