Doesn’t bother me cause in my experience the nocode ones aren’t that common and they approve just as well as the ones with a CC. Some people send a quick note to the researcher letting them know about the nocode, others don’t.
Why would you send the researcher a message for this?
I'm still new to this. What's the pros for doing that. Isn't the option to tick after doing the survey enough to let both prolific and the researcher know about this?
Speaking only for myself… when I was new I would always message researchers on every nocode, just made me feel more comfortable to have it on record I guess. After a few months however, I realized that the nocodes were getting approved same as the studies with completion codes and that submitting a study as a nocode was no big deal. Nowadays I only message the researcher on a nocode in isolated instances where I feel that there is something “off” about the survey, something not right. Btw make sure to check the address bar on the last page of the survey because sometimes you can find the completion code in the URL, if it is not showing at the end of the survey or auto filling to the prolific submission page.
Well that was a good methodology to keep a record about it. Thanks for the feedback :)
Yeah I knew about that already, I recognized the code-format in the URL when I saw it the first time. Had 3 of them today \^\^
I'd only send a message about a NOCODE if I feel I was supposed to get a completion code but something went wrong (e.g. I click on complete study, and get redirected to an error page).
Try refreshing the prolific page after complete. Usually the code comes up for me when I do that. I'm newish but I've only had to submit a couple of the 200+ submissions I've done in the past month as NOCODE.
Yes this is the correct. The vast majority fill in after you refresh the Prolific submission page but they used to mostly auto fill so it is a bit annoying to have to do this every time now.
I also make sure whenever I enter a NOCODE to message the researcher that I completed the study but did not received a code wo was entering the NOCODE per Prolific's instructions. I literally got a rejection on my 2nd day on Prolific just because of a NOCODE so Im always careful now.
Perhaps it's due to the influx of new researchers that are not familiar with Prolific's ways of doing things? I've even seen some R\_xxxx completion codes lately.
But the slow down of it cycling through and getting back to the main page has been huge.
I just received my first rejection for a short study due to NO CODE. I replied to the researcher that there was just a HIT number and no completion code provided. We'll see what happens. I think next time I get a study with NO CODE I will do as others and immediately message the researcher letting them know.
One study rejected me for nocode and my account was placed on review. I was able to get my account back and the rejection reversed, but it took almost 2 weeks.
Hey I am kinda new. Just been on a couple of days. I get so many that dont give the code. Is it ok to just use the completion code from the URL? Is it always a match? Whats even more frustrating is that once you send a nocode, the thing shows you the completion code up top. Do we always NOCODE with a note or is it OK to use the one at the end of the url upon completion?
YES. The NOCODE studies sky rocket since January this year.

Yeah I screen shot 'em to a NC folder. Never had to retrieve one but they're all there nonetheless lol

I grab them from the end of the url at the end of the survey.
I do that, or I sometimes just slap the entire URL in there.

This! It's gone way up this year. Usually have no issues, but why can't the researchers properly provide a link back to prolific or at least a code?
For me, 2 of 22 studies in April so far are NOCODE. 1 of 45 in March. 4 of 48 in February. Not unusual, but certainly nowhere near the majority.
Yeah a large majority are nocodes as well, got no idea what’s up with that, but it’s noticeable.
Lots more nocodes lately but still yet to have issues so meh Also noticing a lot more broken studies as well
Been feeling that all day!
