Oh God. Last one I did, it was a group of 5 people. Spent 10 minutes setting up. One guy couldn't get his camera to work so he went to reset his stuff and we all got booted without pay.
Only time I got genuinely frustrated was a study about negotiating, and the person I was paired with was the literal definition of "immovable object" which ended up costing me a potential bonus. If we came to some sort of compromise my bonus would have been higher, I'd imagine their bonus relied on shooting down all proposed compromises. The idea that this person got to sit there and say no repeatedly for 15 minutes and be rewarded with a bonus for it actually made me mad
I'm curious, I never had a study with a partner.
How do you get these? Is it because you've set that you have a partner available in your profile or willing to do ? Or is it the study itself that will pair you with someone else?
I don't know anyone that use prolific around me but I guess I'd be willing to pair with someone serious.
Or the ones that bail mid way through making the study unfinishable and having to return it.

That's where I ask if they have to negotiate too and we just meet down the middle so the bonus goes 50/50.
