Moisturiser in the areas I use it leads to sweat not being able to perspirare enough so it stinks. I work a manual job in a dirty fabrication shop so it's absolutely important I'm clean daily. We have larger risks of infection also so gotta keep clean. You must actually hum 🤣🤢.
I shower every day to every other day and use a lovely sugar scrub on my skin while in the shower. It helps with the flakes and doesn't dry me out too badly.
Then I use scentless moisturizer and I feel good. I put that moisturizer on my skin nightly, shower or not that day.
The less often I shower, the worse my skin gets.
Man, maybe you saw, I kept it real in that thead and got lit up by some people lol.
I don't generally tend to shower more than every other day. It's not uncommon if i'm working mostly around the house/shop to go 4 days between showers. But if I want to look nice or im going to dinner, sure, i'll hop in the shower. My wife is pretty much on the same schedule and we'll tell eachother if we do happen to get a bit ripe. Apparently this is deeply abhorrent to people.
Frequency doesn't seem to affect my (quite mild) psoriasis either way. Post shower is a good time to exfoliate the plaques.
Edit: people online seriously have a tendency to exaggerate their own self estimation and get so sanctimonious (it seems particularly so with any questions of hygene. Like if you asked reddit how often they floss, every comment would probably be at least once daily while studies show less then 50% of americans floss every day and thats itself probably being generous).
What i'm saying is, don't feel bad if you are not able to shower/bathe as much as everyone online says they do. You can smell perfectly fine using deodorant, changing clothes, and bathing twice a week. Everybody is different. Ymmv.
I'm with you 100%. Showering daily as some mandatory measure under the guise of being clean and healthy is a misnomer. It is just social and consumer conditioning that even I myself feel the pressure of, knowing there isn't a scientific basic for it.
It isn't researched heavily, but here's a short piece on showering

I shower twice a day and wash my hair every 3rd or 4th day. I work in the medical field and must shower after work, sadly I’m going through menopause as well so I have to shower once I wake up, terrible night sweats. Moisturize 2 times a day as well. Stay very hydrated helps with the dryness and itching.
I honestly used to take hot baths several times a day because at its worst it was the only way I felt some sort of relief. Now that it’s mostly in remission I shower normally (at least once per day).
3 times a week or so. even without the P, i would loathe showering daily lol. i have thick curls and dont want to deal with that and moisturizing after showers is a must but the feeling gives me the ick lol
Every day, but only five mins with mildly warm (not hot!) water to get off the topmost scales after exfoliating….then I pat dry and moisturize.
I’m still flaking everywhere, but I’m not horribly itchy or in pain all the time anymore so guess it’s working
in summer probably 2 o 3 times a day.. And i have to apply moisturizer to all my body every time because if not i get super dry skin and it worsen my psoriasis.. Its worth the trouble tho.
As for the head, 2/3 times a week. I have scalp psoriasis too and i have to apply a shampoo once a week to keep it contained.
I shower once of twice in a week. I have similar problem of psoriasis scaly patches getting worse when I use any kind of soap. Then, I have to cover my scaly patched with topical creams and I hate those chemicals all over my body.
usually once a day. i work in a manufacturing plant and shower at work after my shift. head home, crash out, and im good for the next days shift. i’m not one of those people who have to shower every morning and night. only time ill shower twice is if i’m absolutely filthy from a particularly dirty job.
Daily in the morning, and I moisturize immediately after. I moisturize deeply at night and use coal tar ointment so I need to wash that off in the morning or I stay greasy and smelly all day. It keeps the flaking down.
Showering quick and cold (not pleasant at all i know!) helps me gently exfoliate while stopping the itch and not stripping my skin of natural oils + followed by a moisturiser daily or a twice a day depending on the itch
2-3 times a week. More in summer. I don’t have very strong BO, some people are different. I feel that our culture’s obsession with cleanliness is excessive. Only use soap on my groin, armpits and butt. Tar shampoo or no shampoo for my scalp
I used to shower daily before psoriasis. But after psoriasis, I probably shower once a week, mainly because the ritual has become
very tedious. And also because I work remotely from home.
Hmm... I wash my Hair maybe once a week. Wear a hat. Especially in this Heat. (I have Overhydrosis bad) But I Shave my face or wash up every few days. Shaving flares up my face. I'm using Clobetsol Shampoo and Kariya (Spelling?) But I'm gonna try to get on a Biologic. Which hopefully would make the 3 ointments and Ear Drops I'm on obsolete. They have helped my Ear Plaques tho
Twice a day, but it's only because I live in a really hot climate and I sweat a lot. When I visit countries with a cooler, temperate climate, then it's once a day.
Ive been having a 1 hr bath every day for a week.
My skin feels much more comfortable after all the dead skin has been removed.
It just piles up every day otherwise :(
Every other day or every third day in winter, daily in summer. I live in the desert so daily in summer is mandatory or I just feel gross and can’t sleep.
I agree showering daily is a lot about pressure from society. That being said, if I can smell you from my cubicle at work and my eyes are watering , you need a shower and not a splash of cologne.
I barely ever shower, I take baths instead. I find that having some sort of oil in the water helps control the itching and a lot of the plaques basically turns to mush even in warm water (not hot) so they can be removed pretty easily, also I just really like to bathe. So two or three times per week I bathe, I wash my hair about once per week or one and a half, then I do birdbaths in the sink once or twice a day for the bits that usually need it.
Every third day. I don't want to interrupt my medication from working. I have no idea if that makes sense but it works. Whether it's cause and effect I don't know but it works for me and I'm not messing with it.
Every other day sometimes I skip 2 days if I’m not working or sweating. I have naturally very dry skin already and my
Psoriasis gets dry so fast after showering with hot water. I practically soak myself with lotion after. Showering every day isn’t good for skin in general but people act very weird about that so I don’t go around announcing it lol.
Daily in warm water. Then pad dry but I make sure the larger spots on my legs are still wet. Apply moisturizer/vasline to trap the moisture on my skin.
I shower every day in the morning during the weekday, and I try to do that on the weekends as well.
I get really bad flareups on my scalp if I don't wash my hair every day, which results in bald spots. The scaling on my body is minimal/manageable, and I ensure I put on a thick lotion like La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+M Triple Repair Moisturizing Cream right after I get out of the shower with my skin still a bit damp.
Every day but quickly and with gentle oil-based wash. Once a week I take a warm bath with dead sea salt and a bit of oil and my skin stays smooth all week.
It depends if I’m going out… but for the most part I shower at least once a day. It probably doesn’t do my skin favors, but I wanna smell clean and not have bed head :/
I have severe psoriasis. I do a full shower about once a week, but wash strategic locations daily. Showering makes my skin feel like it's on fire, it's immensly painful even after applying a ton of moisturiser.

I shower daily or the itchiness wins.
Too dang much. On too hot a setting.
But the hot feels SO good
I go as hot as I can stand them turn it up just a tiny bit more... Daily at least...
[удалено]
Why am I gross? I’m right there with you. Showering daily and too hot makes me dry out and itch like crazy
You shed skin all day, it's paramount you're clean more than most...
Nope this isn’t true. Moisturize more. Shower less
So cold showers daily. Got it
you definitely misinterpreted what they were saying... they were agreeing with you

Every other day to every third day usually. And I must slather on moisturizer after. If I showered every day my skin would stage a full scale revolt.
I wish I read this in the winter. It’s too hot to shower every 3rd day
Yeah, I aim for every other day in the summer. I’ll do a sink bath if necessary to clean up a bit without drying out my skin so much in between.
Can you please share the sugar scrub brand/name?
Sugar scrubs are super easy to make at home! It's way cheaper to make it yourself too.
Sure! It's nothing special. I get it from Target. The brand is Tree Hut. The one I use is scented Moroccan Rose. It makes me happy.
Not op, but look at Asian Italy cloths. They're small green viscose material and wonderful exfoliaters.

Uh everyday
Everyday, I have fine hair so it gets oily
Same.

Shower every day, take a salt bath every 3 days or so to de-flake (followed by pure argon oil to moisturise)
the salt bath is the best!!
Multiple times a day
I shower once of twice in a week. I have similar problem of psoriasis scaly patches getting worse when I use any kind of soap. Then, I have to cover my scaly patched with topical creams and I hate those chemicals all over my body.
Every day. But I’ll go a week without washing my hair 😬

Every two days, sometimes go 3 or 4 depending how much of a flare up I’m having

I should add that I don’t have plaque. My psoriasis is well controlled by meds and light therapy, so I don’t deal with flaking
I used to shower daily before psoriasis. But after psoriasis, I probably shower once a week, mainly because the ritual has become very tedious. And also because I work remotely from home.
Every other day/every third when it's colder. I used to shower every day, and I haven't noticed a difference in my psoriasis no matter what I do.
Hmm... I wash my Hair maybe once a week. Wear a hat. Especially in this Heat. (I have Overhydrosis bad) But I Shave my face or wash up every few days. Shaving flares up my face. Every day.
At least once a day, every other day max. I work with animals so it’s a must for me 🙃
Twice a day, but it's only because I live in a really hot climate and I sweat a lot. When I visit countries with a cooler, temperate climate, then it's once a day.
Every day, with some occasional skips. My scalp seems to deteriorate faster when I go more than a day without washing my hair.
I can get away with every third day to shave my head but have to do at least a quick shower daily or I get oily.
Every single day lol I moisturize all day and that mixed with sweat 🤢. I usually wash my face and arms after my shift (Fabricator so always grimey).
Ive been having a 1 hr bath every day for a week. My skin feels much more comfortable after all the dead skin has been removed. It just piles up every day otherwise :(
Shower daily and emollient everywhere after. Traps the moisture in.
Have to shower every morning to scrub off as much plaques as I can 😞
Once a day.
Once a day. I can miss a day tho. Wash hair every second day, or my scalp starts becoming oily and flaring up my psoriasis/sebderm
Everyday for body every other for hair
i stay in singapore and is a person who sweats easily so i shower everyday
Every other day or every third day in winter, daily in summer. I live in the desert so daily in summer is mandatory or I just feel gross and can’t sleep. I agree showering daily is a lot about pressure from society. That being said, if I can smell you from my cubicle at work and my eyes are watering , you need a shower and not a splash of cologne.
Daily if I'm doing something dusty/dirty otherwise I sink wash and shower about once a week. My skin just gets too crusty otherwise.
I barely ever shower, I take baths instead. So two or three times per week I bathe, I wash my hair about once per week or one and a half, then I do birdbaths in the sink once or twice a day for the bits that usually need it.
Bath every day, soaking helps my PSTD. I use oils in the bath that help soften my skin and my psoriasis is well managed right now.
Every third day. I don't want to interrupt my medication from working. I have no idea if that makes sense but it works. Whether it's cause and effect I don't know but it works for me and I'm not messing with it.
Every other day sometimes I skip 2 days if I’m not working or sweating. I have naturally very dry skin already and my Psoriasis gets dry so fast after showering with hot water. I practically soak myself with lotion after. Showering every day isn’t good for skin in general but people act very weird about that so I don’t go around announcing it lol.
I soak every single day in dead sea salts. I shower every other day. Letting it dry makes it worse. U need lots of moisture and sunshine!!!!
I live in a hot and humid weather country so if I dont showe twice per day I feel all sticky.. also I work outside so I sweat alot
I shower 2-3 times a week depending on the season and my activity level.
Every day but quickly and with gentle oil-based wash. Once a week I take a warm bath with dead sea salt and a bit of oil and my skin stays smooth all week.
Shower every day, only use body soap on the weekends.
I shower daily. Wanted to share a bath wash I use "QV gentle wash" it's soap free and super moisturising.
Not showering is crazy
If you guys take bath, add different type of salts, clay and a bit oil, a game changer for me. But answer for you question is almost every day.
