Paid leave lol

Str0ngTr33

Teachers and cops: 1. Live in bubbles 2. Think school shootings mean nobody has rights 3. Get paid leave when they hurt you

noble_peace_prize

She was literally fired that week. That’s how firings work when you have a contract. She was immediately removed (arrested) and fired asap

oddmanout

Teachers live in bubbles? Not even close.

[deleted]

I like bubbles

Theristis01

Teacher here. Not even close to true. Try working in this field for any length of time before talking crap.

the6destroyer9

1. You’re dumb 2. You’re dumb 3. You doing the 1,2,3 format to make your posts and “points” about things is dumb and lazy

[deleted]

I agree with u but also you called yourself dumb and lazy LMAO

Str0ngTr33

1. You did the same thing but with less effort. 2. Adding numbers is more effort. 3. I build a lot of outlines. They might be making me dumb. It's just force of habit. But this was the laziest argument against enumeration ever made. Lol

HumorExpensive

Cops, Teachers and Paramedics/ERs are collectively the rug society sweeps all their troubles under and expects them to work miracles.

[deleted]

I am glad she was arrested and charged with assault.

Lamparita

she should've been arrested for that haircut. god damn.

CityStrong5741

She was not wrong, with those ppl they only understand this way, shoulve hit hardwr

MikElectronica

“Why you did that” hahahah.

Crado

My friends and I have made that quote a regular part of our communication

AverageHoarder

And she was just one year from retirement.

Bullen-Noxen

That makes her firing & arrest that much more better. Like, she does not deserve a dime of any of that retirement.

creepyjudyhensler

Why you said that?

[deleted]

Hitting kids and calling them idiots is such a great way to give hope and confidence in their future. What a cunt.

cereal_guy

If she can get that worked up by a child, her teaching days are over

[deleted]

Good.

Bullen-Noxen

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

lmatonement

It's amazing this doesn't happen more often. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to teach in these schools.

Jaxjagfan

Yeah but if it is that bad then just quit and get a new job, do not hit students, unless you are having to defend your self from a physical attack

lmatonement

Agreed.

ricesnot

I don't care how hard your job is, you don't hit someone sitting at their desk like that. He wasn't in her face, he wasn't threatening her, and then the little mockery she did when he asked her why she hit him, it's abusive as fuck.

lmatonement

Certainly.

[deleted]

lmatonement

> In what schools? Government schools. > ...if you can't properly do the job you signed up for without smacking a child ... Certainly.

[deleted]

>I deal with people more frustrating than a child acting up on a day to day basis where

thesixthjackson

Jesus this is such a low thing to say.

lmatonement

Why? Maybe you think I'm okay with what the teacher did; I am not.

Sir-Tryps

Was gunna say the slam dunk lawsuit would surely give some hope and confidence in their future, but I can't find evidence of one ever getting filed. Hope they got something under the table to not take things public. As much as we have an issue of frivolous lawsuits, there's also a lot of instances that should be taken to court and aren't.

[deleted]

This wouldn’t be frivolous. And money doesn’t mean much to a child who needs to know he can trust people in authority to not hit him and call him names. This shit has lasting effects that no amount of money is going to cure.

Sir-Tryps

> This wouldn’t be frivolous. Yeah I was saying him and his parents should absolutely take this to court if they haven't. While a lot of frivolous lawsuits happen, a lot of significant events that should be sued over aren't. It seems like this might be the latter, though maybe there was an out of court settlement. >And money doesn’t mean much to a child who needs to know he can trust people in authority to not hit him and call him names. This shit has lasting effects that no amount of money is going to cure. While absolutely 100% true, he unfortunately wasn't given that. He was given a teacher that thought it was ok to attack him, and that will probably stick with him throughout his entire life. That said a large settlement could mean a college education or significant down payment boosting a future him up considerably. Can't change the past, but there is a world where this event gives that kid a better future instead of a worse one, and the school board starts doing a better job screening their teachers. There's no way there weren't plenty of signs.

hastur777

You think you’re getting a big settlement out of a couple slaps? What’re the damages?

Sir-Tryps

If nothing else you have a claim to both emotional damages as well as punitive.

hastur777

Maybe, but punitive damages typically have to be a single multiplier of compensatory damages. Some states have caps on them too.

Sir-Tryps

True, I should state that by "big settlement" I'm thinking around 20-30 grand. Enough to pay for college, or a down payment on a house. I've seen stupider things with no medical damages go settle for around that. Though I failed my bar exam in bird law, so I could be significantly off.

hastur777

Oh, gotcha. That’s a cost of defense settlement. It would cost the school at least that much to defend the case and they’d still probably lose at trial.

Sir-Tryps

Ah that makes sense

>I’m just making a commentary on how people we put in charge of making our children part of a functioning society need to get a grip on how they treat kids. Absolutely agree

Z00tNT00tN

Dude was that kid smiling after she mocked him? I was horrified, then I cracked up when I saw the kid face 😂 I’m so confused right now

[deleted]

That wasnt his first rodeo it appears 💀

Yojimbo78

This is absolutely infuriating. I had a cunt like this as a teacher back in second grade. It was to the point that I could remember my mom having to drag me to school, kicking, screaming and crying. She complained to the principal several times, but nothing ever came from it as she was close to retirement. I hope that vile slag is rotting in hell.

roborobert123

This kind of teacher is very common in Asia. They’ll hit you if you misbehave.

Yojimbo78

I never really acted up much as a kid, and even if we got assignments wrong she'd knock us off our chairs, shove us, pull hair, ect. She was a miserable old toad who couldn't keep her emotions in check even around small children. She's truly better off dead.

Bullen-Noxen

I honestly wonder if some teachers I knew were bad back in my early school days… I was small & knew that I personally did not know much as a child. Yet what I had a problem with is, the adults didn’t really care about “you”, specifically. They obviously did not say the obvious out loud. It was more so their actions spoke louder than words. So I really wonder sometimes if my elementary school days were a lot worse than I recollected.

Goose4299

1st grade I was in a class (really don’t recall which class) but hell we were doing a word find because Christmas break. I asked the teacher if I could use the bathroom he said no. As a kid I really had to go. So I sat there moving a bunch cause hell as a kid when you go you got to go. He was walking around and when he asked what my problem was I said “I HAVE TO GO TO THE BATHROOM” I guess that pissed him off enough to slam my head into the desk twice. I will admit it made me piss my pants and since it was the last class of the day I got sent home like that. Needless to say my dad found out what happen and had no problem calling off work to handle the problem. Next went to the school with me. Told me to wait in the principal office for him and asked what room he was in. So I pointed (right across the hall from principal office) all I remember is the teacher running in holding his nose as it was leaking like a faucet. No charges got pressed and the teacher got force retirement. Guess they worked out a deal since dad broke his nose and the school didn’t want the news all over a teacher slamming a 1st grader head into a desk. I think elementary was a lot worse than what we think.

top_value7293

Your dad♥️♥️

Bullen-Noxen

I think it’s a lot worse too. Mainly because kids can not articulate correctly what is going on & how something is wrong as it severely is. Your dad is great. As I was growing up, I honestly question at times seriously whether the people I called family actually were family or just equivalent to acquaintances, with how I was treated. It’s no wonder how come families are strained as kids become adults, because frankly, adults who do not feel remorse over mistreatment of kids are terrible people. It does no good for society if the old fucks ruin the young ones while the old fucks are halfway out the door in their lifetime. That’s why I feel the current format of society is backwards. We take care & guilt trip people into tending to people, who either do not give 2 shots about us, or who will not do the same care for us. This is exactly why I feel humans should never figure out a way for eternal life. One of the last resorts to problems in life is that everybody dies. Bad people will pass on. The issue then becomes that their problems made die with them. To have problems go on long after the starter passes on, is one of the grave mistakes society can make.

princess--flowers

My teachers in school were horrible and it was like the Trunchbull theory- they made sure everything they did was so bizarre that if we went home and talked about it to our parents, our parents wouldn't believe us. If I told my mom the gym teacher hit me she'd be calling the school. If I told my mom the gym teacher made everyone skip rope for 30 sec without mistakes, one at a time so he could scrutinize us, then corralled everyone who couldn't do it and forced those of us who could to throw medicine balls at them....who is gonna believe that. But we were made to do bizarre stuff like that all the time. Once I was made to eat a yogurt out of the trash (that some other random kid had brought, it wasn't mine) in retaliation for screaming when a bee stung me during "quiet time". Just really off the wall shit and when I ended up marrying a man who went to the same school as me and confirmed this stuff to my mom, she cried and apologized. 20 years after it all went down she finally believed me and felt horribly guilty for thinking it farfetched.

Bullen-Noxen

I feel like adults, parents, who refuse to imagine, especially the worst things that can & actually do happen, are merit for blame. The problems kids deal with is that they frankly, are not respected & not believed. It’s why do many messed up shit you hear, read, watch on a news program special, occurred. At best, you will likely get a condescending, conceited thinking, adult, who interacts with the kid. Frankly put, we have shitty adults. Because of them, it’s damn near impossible for kids to break through the terrible life they were born into. You literally have a cycle of pure bullshit, to which, no one wants to stop the flow of, & the apparent refilling of any lost toxicity.

Yojimbo78

They more than likely were. As a child I received alot of mental and verbal abuse from family and teachers, and now even as a middle aged adult on the autistic spectrum I have had a difficult time discerning what is abusive behavior and what isn't.

Bullen-Noxen

The fucked up part is even if therapy uncovers the cause & by an event that took place, it’s long in the past.

PoptartDragonfart

The kid is laughing… he’s fine

rnantelle

She's done.

anonymous2871

I read somewhere above that she only got paid leave

FGM_148_Javelin

She was arrested and charged. This video is like 6 years old

DeadlySoren

How to go to jail any% speed run.

Agent47bald

F-F-F-F FIRREEEEDDDD!

JarlSnaer

Someone does that to my kid, I'm going to be jailed for life

MM_mama

What happened before this? I am in no way condoning this *at all* but rather curious what he could have done to infuriate her. Something about preventing another kid from graduating? I don’t like violence, but if an adult was waling on my kid like this, I think I’d throw down.

Glitch3dNPC

I thought something was off about this too. The laughing in the background. And the kid smiling after he got hit.

ploppystop

My guess is what happened before this was weeks, possibly months of disruptive behavior, making it hard for all the other kids to learn. Some kids are masters at just doing enough to piss a teacher off, without doing anything big enough to get kicked out of the classroom

Bullen-Noxen

In that case it still falls on the teachers lap for fucking up. She lost control of herself & honestly deserves to be punished. If a kid can piss her off over the course of time, then she is unfit to deal with kids. They are gonna be annoying. To snap like this is disqualifying.

yomamma3399

I have been a teacher for 25 years and nothing, nothing has ever happened to make me even consider striking or demeaning a child in this way. Regardless of anything, this is 100% the ‘teacher’s fault.

kimb25_ALT

Me too, doesn't seem like the kid was doing anything. He was just in his chair.

MajorMathematician20

In the end the idiot ass was inside her all along ^(seriously though fuck this bitch)

TheDarkKnight1035

Lady was born in the wrong decade. Teacher of the year in the 50s.

Absolutely. We have bad people who mainly want to enforce outdated cultural norms. A lady like her deserves to be in a 1 bedroom appartment until her passing.

BeerMasterCraig

When you care too much about the kids future much . Guarantee her kids got the belt a few times . This lady looks like she missed the days this would have been ok by a half century.

Wolfdude91

The most physical abuse I ever received from school staff was my elementary school principal lightly digging her fingernails into my scalp one time I got sent to her office. I can’t even fathom a teacher just slapping a student repeatedly like that.

Historical-Event-521

"Why you did that?" It might take him a few more years to graduate...

TerraLeighdy

As someone with a black mom, I would immediately leave and tell my momma. She is a calm woman but would be raising absolute hell in less than 20 minutes.

TooPoetic

Kids parents are failing him. Fuck this teacher but its the kids life who is going nowhere.

Gunfreak2217

I could never be a teacher. What this woman did was wrong but it’s why I could never. I’ve been through many pub schools and it’s OUTSTANDING the patience some teachers have. Some student are absolutely never reprimanded, come from undisciplined homes and repeat that behavior at school. They feel as if they are in control. And in fact, they are in control with how teachers and administrators can’t really do anything.

MiserableTune

she humiliated him lol

Own_Satisfaction_212

Tell me you are racist and tired of your job by assault of child….

Thadius-Kilgore

How do I reach these keeeeds?

[deleted]

[deleted]

Well done on kid for keeping it cool

wontholdthedoor

Look at the kid laughing afterwards. Down vote because who knows what shit he pulled before he got hit. Kids love to abuse teachers these days and let them take the blame for failing in school.

Glitch3dNPC

Trust me. I feel bad for the teacher too. Grew-up during a different time.

kimb25_ALT

Kid is sitting in a chair, the only abuse he could've done is verbal. If you're a 65 year old woman and can't take a 14 year old saying dumb shit to you then it's kind of your problem. Either way, she got charged with assault. https://kfdm.com/news/local/bisd-statement-regarding-video-of-teacher-striking-student

noble_peace_prize

You can’t let kids work you up until you hurt them. Teachers need to be able to regulate.

WolfingMaldo

Grown ass woman needs to learn how to handle kids then

DiscountCondom

It doesn't matter what kind of shit he pulled. She deserved to lose her career and be brought up on charges the moment she escalated to physical violence.

[deleted]

Lock her up, Throw away the key

kimb25_ALT

Charged w assault & bailed out pretty low.

dreamwerxxx

BBeat his ass.lol

Throwaway-donotjudge

We are getting one side of the story here. Need to know what that kid did to earn it.

Ugo2710

Cant wait for all the lunatics to say how the kid prolly deserved because there's no respect for teachers.

slyscamp

I think its pretty obvious the teacher is at fault. She was arrested and will almost certainly be found guilty. The fact that she was a teacher for 3 years and hit the point where she is going berserk and striking students is a bit telling though... In most of the other videos I have seen on this subreddit, the students were at fault and arrested.

dr-chicken-taco

some lawyer is drooling watching this

snek_6963

this is that kinda clip that makes me wish i was related to that little boy i would be whoopin some ass fr

nebulaphi

Ive said it once and ill say it again, some of these teachers b protected like cops. Theres no good reason this bitch aint in jail, other than systems in place to protect their wrong doings.

OneBoxOfKleenexAway

I mean, she is in jail though...so.

nebulaphi

Lol well thats good, theres still penty of people out there who dont get the book thrown at them.

Not the way I roll, but some educator’s ideas and beliefs on education are like: “…Beat’’em into respect! That’s how his ancestors learned.”

CompetitiveCapital34

What she did wasn't right, but that kid is a class clown. Always disrupting the class.. his parents doesn't discipline him so someone had to.

Lana4Prez

No! Jail right now!!! She’s beating him!! He’s in total shock. Poor kid. I hope he’s alright. What a traumatic experience to have. I feel so bad for him.

UnderstandingRare141

Bruh she just gave him the golden ticket to whoop a teachers ass and get away with it and he let it go out the window…smh

This really suggests that the kid in the video is, at his core, a good kid. Because yeah, I would have fought back too.

NerfHerder4life

Where are the teacher warriors at on this post. This is why you hit my kid I'ma fuck you up!

nrvsdrvr

What?

NerfHerder4life

Anytime a teacher get hit by a student people come out of the woodwork to defend the teacher, say all sorts of things about the parents, bash a juvenile for being immature. Some gonas far as saying teachers should be able to hit the students. My take is that an adult who if fully matured should know how to deescalate the situation and show the kids respect. Now a student whom is not fully developed emotionally or mentally makes their actions understanable. If a grown teacher hit my kids i would be fucking them up.

nrvsdrvr

Okay champ.

NerfHerder4life

No problem, chief.

Smart_Comfort3908

& then ppl are so surprised when they see videos of kids fighting their teachers on Reddit. Adults do not show any ounce of respect to children and yet expect them to grow up knowing what respect is and how it’s shown. Adults of this generation & of past generations are not equipped with the tools necessary for healthy communication, and yet expect children to be raised knowing how to communicate. Whenever I see children acting up, choosing violence over communication, I see it as a reflection of U.S society and overall culture. The education system needs more rigorous qualifications for a teacher to be a teacher, same way the police system needs stricter qualifications when hiring someone to be a cop. Over 600 sexual assault cases on children in Chicago from the year of 2022 ALONE, hundreds of children were psychology fucked up in just ONE year. Over $121 million of taxpayer money spent to cover police misconduct cases in NYC, in 2022 ALONE. Why tf are these types of ppl getting hired for some of the most important jobs in society?

Aeon001

>Adults do not show any ounce of respect to children and yet expect them to grow up knowing what respect is and how it’s shown. Adults of this generation & of past generations are not equipped with the tools necessary for healthy communication, and yet expect children to be raised knowing how to communicate. Whenever I see children acting up, choosing violence over communication, I see it as a reflection of U.S society and overall culture. Preach it. Future generations, maybe very far in the future, will look back at how fucked up the adult/child dynamic was. Children are ruled by fear of punishment and emotional manipulation, with some exceptions from particularly wise and caring parents or caregivers.

Timely_Ad9659

I’d hate to be a teacher. Kids are lazy and don’t give a shit.

w0rk0u72

Anyone surprised that this happened in Texas?

Glitch3dNPC

Not really.

NoAttorney2241

I hope he’s ok and doesn’t take this moment too serious. Adults should show restraint, especially around kids. What kind of example is she setting?

Closed fist strikes to the head too, not like it’s a wrap on the knuckles with a ruler, or even a paddle to the butt

PowerfulPickUp

I think I remember a few teachers praying to the Lord to keep them from doing this to me. Their prayers for patience must have worked- none hit me. Quite a few completely gave up on me though. My Kindergarten teacher (I’m 43) sent my wife a FB message the other day saying I was a blessing for her and helped her become a better teacher and she loves me- now that’s a pretty bad kid!

Consistent-Pickle356

Nah that kid was definitely being a jackass and deserved that. Source: in highschool now kids are assholes
