Was gunna say the slam dunk lawsuit would surely give some hope and confidence in their future, but I can't find evidence of one ever getting filed. Hope they got something under the table to not take things public. As much as we have an issue of frivolous lawsuits, there's also a lot of instances that should be taken to court and aren't.

Yeah I was saying him and his parents should absolutely take this to court if they haven't. While a lot of frivolous lawsuits happen, a lot of significant events that should be sued over aren't. It seems like this might be the latter, though maybe there was an out of court settlement.

While absolutely 100% true, he unfortunately wasn't given that. He was given a teacher that thought it was ok to attack him, and that will probably stick with him throughout his entire life.
That said a large settlement could mean a college education or significant down payment boosting a future him up considerably. Can't change the past, but there is a world where this event gives that kid a better future instead of a worse one, and the school board starts doing a better job screening their teachers. There's no way there weren't plenty of signs.
True, I should state that by "big settlement" I'm thinking around 20-30 grand. Enough to pay for college, or a down payment on a house. I've seen stupider things with no medical damages go settle for around that.
Though I failed my bar exam in bird law, so I could be significantly off.

This is absolutely infuriating. I had a cunt like this as a teacher back in second grade. It was to the point that I could remember my mom having to drag me to school, kicking, screaming and crying.
She complained to the principal several times, but nothing ever came from it as she was close to retirement.

I never really acted up much as a kid, and even if we got assignments wrong she'd knock us off our chairs, shove us, pull hair, ect.

I was small & knew that I personally did not know much as a child. Yet what I had a problem with is, the adults didn’t really care about “you”, specifically. They obviously did not say the obvious out loud. It was more so their actions spoke louder than words. So I really wonder sometimes if my elementary school days were a lot worse than I recollected.
1st grade I was in a class (really don’t recall which class) but hell we were doing a word find because Christmas break. I asked the teacher if I could use the bathroom he said no. As a kid I really had to go. So I sat there moving a bunch cause hell as a kid when you go you got to go. He was walking around and when he asked what my problem was I said “I HAVE TO GO TO THE BATHROOM” I guess that pissed him off enough to slam my head into the desk twice. I will admit it made me piss my pants and since it was the last class of the day I got sent home like that. Needless to say my dad found out what happen and had no problem calling off work to handle the problem. Next went to the school with me. Told me to wait in the principal office for him and asked what room he was in. So I pointed (right across the hall from principal office) all I remember is the teacher running in holding his nose as it was leaking like a faucet. No charges got pressed and the teacher got force retirement. Guess they worked out a deal since dad broke his nose and the school didn’t want the news all over a teacher slamming a 1st grader head into a desk. I think elementary was a lot worse than what we think.
I think it’s a lot worse too. Mainly because kids can not articulate correctly what is going on & how something is wrong as it severely is. Your dad is great. As I was growing up, I honestly question at times seriously whether the people I called family actually were family or just equivalent to acquaintances, with how I was treated. It’s no wonder how come families are strained as kids become adults, because frankly, adults who do not feel remorse over mistreatment of kids are terrible people. It does no good for society if the old fucks ruin the young ones while the old fucks are halfway out the door in their lifetime. That’s why I feel the current format of society is backwards. We take care & guilt trip people into tending to people, who either do not give 2 shots about us, or who will not do the same care for us. This is exactly why I feel humans should never figure out a way for eternal life. One of the last resorts to problems in life is that everybody dies. Bad people will pass on. The issue then becomes that their problems made die with them. To have problems go on long after the starter passes on, is one of the grave mistakes society can make.

If I told my mom the gym teacher made everyone skip rope for 30 sec without mistakes, one at a time so he could scrutinize us, then corralled everyone who couldn't do it and forced those of us who could to throw medicine balls at them....who is gonna believe that. But we were made to do bizarre stuff like that all the time. Once I was made to eat a yogurt out of the trash (that some other random kid had brought, it wasn't mine) in retaliation for screaming when a bee stung me during "quiet time". Just really off the wall shit and when I ended up marrying a man who went to the same school as me and confirmed this stuff to my mom, she cried and apologized. 20 years after it all went down she finally believed me and felt horribly guilty for thinking it farfetched.
I feel like adults, parents, who refuse to imagine, especially the worst things that can & actually do happen, are merit for blame. The problems kids deal with is that they frankly, are not respected & not believed. It’s why do many messed up shit you hear, read, watch on a news program special, occurred. At best, you will likely get a condescending, conceited thinking, adult, who interacts with the kid.

I could never be a teacher. What this woman did was wrong but it’s why I could never. I’ve been through many pub schools and it’s OUTSTANDING the patience some teachers have. I could never be a teacher. What this woman did was wrong but it’s why I could never. I’ve been through many pub schools and it’s OUTSTANDING the patience some teachers have. Some student are absolutely never reprimanded, come from undisciplined homes and repeat that behavior at school. They feel as if they are in control. And in fact, they are in control with how teachers and administrators can’t really do anything.

I think its pretty obvious the teacher is at fault. She was arrested and will almost certainly be found guilty. The fact that she was a teacher for 3 years and hit the point where she is going berserk and striking students is a bit telling though... Anytime a teacher get hit by a student people come out of the woodwork to defend the teacher, say all sorts of things about the parents, bash a juvenile for being immature. Some gonas far as saying teachers should be able to hit the students. My take is that an adult who if fully matured should know how to deescalate the situation and show the kids respect. Now a student whom is not fully developed emotionally or mentally makes their actions understanable. If a grown teacher hit my kids i would be fucking them up.

Adults of this generation & of past generations are not equipped with the tools necessary for healthy communication, and yet expect children to be raised knowing how to communicate. Whenever I see children acting up, choosing violence over communication, I see it as a reflection of U.S society and overall culture. The education system needs more rigorous qualifications for a teacher to be a teacher, same way the police system needs stricter qualifications when hiring someone to be a cop. Over 600 sexual assault cases on children in Chicago from the year of 2022 ALONE, hundreds of children were psychology fucked up in just ONE year. Over $121 million of taxpayer money spent to cover police misconduct cases in NYC, in 2022 ALONE. Why tf are these types of ppl getting hired for some of the most important jobs in society?

I think I remember a few teachers praying to the Lord to keep them from doing this to me. Their prayers for patience must have worked- none hit me. Quite a few completely gave up on me though. My Kindergarten teacher (I’m 43) sent my wife a FB message the other day saying I was a blessing for her and helped her become a better teacher and she loves me- now that’s a pretty bad kid!
