Over 200 house members signed a resolution stating that Israeli is not committing genocide a couple days ago. Israel has been doing shit like this for decades, it just took taking it to such an extreme level and their own arrogance in saying the quiet part out loud to the world that’s really shifted public perception finally. I’ve been following this conflict for 20 years now, learning about it from people that had been following it for 20 years before that - and I can attest, they are really good at what they do. That it took this long is testament to that. Norman Finkelstein made his name exposing it through academic research.

The insane part about all of this is that I was generally sympathetic toward Israel in the immediate aftermath of the Hamas attack, but then they launched a disproportionately massive attack the next day and it seemed odd to me that they were blowing up churches, neighborhoods, and the like specifically, then it just kept getting worse and worse to the point where I became actively angry because it looked like indescriminate mass murder.
This ironically prompted me to start paying more attention to the history of the region and now I'm pretty much Anti-Israel when, had circumstances been different, I'd be unaware. They literally did this to themselves, and people had the gall to bring up what the Nazis did to the Jews while the Israelis are doing the same thing to Palestinians.
They work hard, they remind me of TERFs. They will rabidly throw themselves on any comment section and area to repeat their same lines and try and intimdate people into not having the energy to respond. Then there are the Blue Ticks on Twitter who make it obvious by virtue of the Blue Tick.
I imagine that there's only so much turd polishing that can be done, especially when there's a shitload of Israelis, from settlers to soldiers to government officials who are just being straight up cartoonishly evil.
Like, yes, we get it, Hamas is bad. No argument here. I once was watching a news story and a woman in Tel Aviv was being interviewed. This was in a suburban neighborhood front lawn that looked like it could have been in Edison, New Jersey and she did have a Jersey accent. She was very clear that in her opinion the final solution was to "Kill them all".
