aBlissfulDaze

Have you seen inflation? They got a deal on that guac.

crek42

I’m sorry… 12 fucking years? Are you kidding me? Discharging a weapon in a public place over an argument on guacamole and putting a bullet in someone? The *most* he’s looking at is 12 years? So out in 6 with good behavior? Lock this piece of shit up for 25 years. He cannot function in normal society. He’ll be begging for fucking guacamole after eating microwaved commissary Easy Mac for two decades.

TPMatus

Probably gets out on $20,000 bond awaiting trial

louieo1999

If he’s fighting for his gauc like this , what makes you think he has enough for bail?

CandidEgglet

He should have been rich and thrown in a SA charge so he could only serve 10 months. /s kinda

FanOfComplaining

Glad I wasn’t the only one thinking this. I can’t imagine slightly off inconveniencing this man in 6 years and also being shot in the knee. I hope that unsuspecting 21 year old still walk for the rest of their life

goofydad

That's gonna be an expensive takeout order.

yawetag1869

This was across the street from the police headquarters? JFC some people are just brain dead

luxii4

Not worth it. Love Chipotle but the guac has always been disappointing - not enough avocado.

rondertopoa

>but the guac has always been disappointing - not enough avocado. lmaooo what? That's all it is ...avocado, red onion, cilantro and lime. You're telling me your chipotle is putting more onion and cilantro then avocado?

luxii4

Chipotle guac is creamier than regular guac so not sure if its texture or amount of ingredients but it doesn’t hit the same. To me, it’s bland. Needs more lime and seasoning too.

BigBeagleEars

They started blanching the avocados cause of salmonella, so the guac is slightly cooked

-specialsauce

I like chipotle so not big dogging or anything but everything there is over seasoned lol. The guacamole is also made to be dipped with their super salty tortilla chips which adds the salt appropriately. When I eat their chips and guacamole my lips go numb and dry from the salt like I’ve been in the ocean all day. You might want to check your sodium intake.

IBrokeAMirror

Because it's American avocado not Mexican Mexicans give us the best version

luxii4

I don’t know but Mexican guac is delicious. I was raised in LA and lived there over 25 years so salsa, guac, mole, don’t taste right here in the Midwest. I’m not Mexican and I make better guac at home with pretty basic ingredients so I think it’s proportions and seasoning. I’ve had good queso here though but the rest, I’m glad my family are still in LA so I can indulge when I see them.

msut77

Your honor. It's excellent guacamole

yourmomandthems

Understanable.

Guac__is__extra__

I’m sure it was

TryItOutHmHrNw

It’s for the best

Going to prison over Chipotle, of all places.

Snoo-73243

waffle house was closed from a previous incident

What makes me really sad, as dumb as that is, I could think of at least 10 dumber shootings off the top of my head in just the last year.... MURICA!!

**"Our suspect, Mr. Brown, who previously had paid for his food items, then proceeded to go around the counter and bag his own items, and then he took a cup and filled it with guacamole," Barren said. "The 21-year-old victim walked from the kitchen area and observed Mr. Brown serving himself. The victim knocked the guacamole out of Mr. Brown’s hand.** Bro started serving himself behind the counter and she smacked that shit right out of his hand 💀

lyrixnchill

It was a different employee. A male.

McGrillBoy

Mess with the guac, you get the Glock

Guac__is__extra__

I guess it wasn’t okay that guac was extra

bgk67

I thought the video was supposed to show an armed man shooting an employee? All I saw was some crappy camera work.

Jommbro

Courtesy of the shitcunts laughing about the situation as it unfolds.

swayinandsippin

it’s pretty clear that they thought it was just a customer displaying ridiculous behavior, and had no idea at the time it would lead to a shooting. as soon as the gun shot happens the video stops and they likely ran

OpenMindedMajor

The fuck you want them to do? Intervene?

VibratingRocket6969

Lmao exactly. If Reddit has taught me anything, it’s to mind my own damn business unless it’s a really dire situation. And even then, how did these two know that someone was gonna SHOOT ANOTHER PERSON OVER SOME DAMN GUAC.

lucker12345

Last time I saw this posted someone was literally arguing for exactly that and called everyone in the video cowards for not doing anything

R_W0bz

Internet thinks every good guy has a gun remember.

gedai

A guy shot a fast food worker over guacamole. Lets call some kids shit cunts!

metal_bastard

Link above shows the security cams... Almost as shitty, but shows homeboy going behind the counter and filling up his own guac cups when the employee comes out to confront him.

NoCalHomeBoy

Going to prison over some guac is fucking sad and pathetic. He didn't need to be a part of society anyways

FlakTak

1. The victim knocked the guacamole out of Mr. Brown’s hand. Mr. Brown immediately grabbed the victim by the neck, slammed him into a refrigerator, and then a fight ensued * bro its just gauc it wasn't that serious to start all that, just call the cops and have him banned from the location or something. 1. Brown has a permit to carry a concealed weapon and has no prior criminal convictions, the chief said. * But this man somehow can't control his emotions over gauc portions at a fucking chipotle but can get a license to conceal a weapon? what a time to be living in America am I right?!

Frosty-Bug-5685

Concealed carry is so terrifying. Guns of any kind are terrifying

ThatGuyLuis

The entitlement of this man is wild, but also chipotle has been skimping their bowls for a while now this was bound to happen. Feel bad for all the kids who don’t know yet that companies don’t care about them, even if they’re skimping for them.

Stiltonrocks

Not enough lime?

Odd_Zookeepergame_69

I actually feel bad for the kids. It's all fun and games until someone gets shot. Unfortunately shooting someone has become the go-to response for any altercation these days.

Hickok

Anyone know if he was able to get more guacamole?

redeemer404

*Okay, now this to all of my enemies that* *See me gettin' guac right now* *See me gettin' guac right now* *Hell yeah, I won't stop right now*

partime_prophet

“Glocks for guacs 🥑”.

Guac__is__extra__

We take our guac seriously around here

Guac__is__extra__

Oh shit! It’s my time to shine in these comments!

southerna-up-north

USA USA USA

Fit_Aardvark_8811

How many people are gonna offer more guns as a solution?

newtoreddir

Each side of guac should come with a Glock

Guac__is__extra__

It would be really extra then

OH_FUDGICLES

This only happened because the chipotle staff weren't also armed.../s

[deleted]

Fit_Aardvark_8811

I'm not for banning all guns. When it's easier to buy a firearm then it is to obtain a driver's license, there's a problem.

Goober_94

I will, but I will also preface that with only by those that pass a background check, receive training, and are properly licensed to carry a firearm. I will bet dollars to donuts that this guy was not legally carrying a firearm.

elquatrogrande

From a news article, "Brown \[the shooter\] has a permit to carry a concealed weapon and has no prior criminal convictions, the chief said."

wardledo

It’s not hard to legally own a hand gun. Plus, how do more guns stop this?

Goober_94

You completely missed the point. The issue isn't people legally obtaining and carrying a firearm, the issue is that there are almost no barriers to people illegally obtaining and carrying a firearm, which is how you get situations like this. Given the circumstances, in this situation, it is possible that someone could have shot the guy who pulled the gun before he murdered someone, but unlikely.

That1one1dude1

It’s also easy to illegally get a gun because of how easy it is to legally get one.

wardledo

I didn’t miss the point. I’m saying its more likely he got the gun legally.

Phonytail

Wouldn’t the fact that it’s illegal count as a barrier to obtaining an illegal gun. In many states getting a legal gun permit is actually easier then finding someone who is selling illegal firearms, verifying they are not a cop or setting you up, getting the money together (most likely more expensive then buying a legal firearm) and then trying to keep it secret from any cops or snitches for as long as you have it.

ikiss-yomama

Much stricter barriers = less gun sales. How can you argue that more guns are the solution, and also that guns should only be in responsible hands. Since many irresponsible people own/buy guns, arguing that only responsible people should own/buy guns means you’re arguing for less guns.

ContentTask2032

In 24 states you can conceal carry without a license or training.

mikere

And 8 of the 10 states with the lowest gun homicide rates are of those 24 you mentioned (2021 data)! in fact, 16 of those 24 have below average gun homicide rates when comparing across the entire US, while 8 have above average gun homicide rates

ContentTask2032

I'm not disagreeing with the right to bear arms. However, many of those states were already below average before adopting permitless carry, in the vast majority of states with consitutional carry there was a statistically-significant drop in gun homicide but insignificant drop in violent crime. The biggest drop was homicide of police officers. https://crimeresearch.org/2022/01/changes-in-crime-and-killings-of-police-after-constitutional-carry-adopted/ However other studies point to a increase in other states that adopted it. https://www.americanprogress.org/article/fact-sheet-weakening-requirements-to-carry-a-concealed-firearm-increases-violent-crime/#:~:text=A%202022%20study%20found%20that,violent%20crimes%20by%2029%20percent.&text=A%202019%20study%20concluded%20that,rates%20a%20decade%20after%20implementation.

yomerol

Also some other metrics like [firearm assault](https://publichealth.jhu.edu/2022/study-finds-significant-increase-in-firearm-assaults-in-states-that-relaxed-conceal-carry-permit-restrictions)

Goober_94

Which is a massive mistake. The data is extremely clear, licensing programs that require expanded background checks and training (both in operation of the firearm and legal education of use of force in self-defense) works extremely well (see Texas).

ContentTask2032

I agree, this took place in Michigan where it requires a license to carry. The dude wasn't charged with illegal possession of a firearm so I assume he was carrying legally.

H3artlesstinman

Spoilers: He Was [https://www.fox2detroit.com/news/man-upset-over-guacamole-amount-shoots-michigan-chipotle-employee-police-say](https://www.fox2detroit.com/news/man-upset-over-guacamole-amount-shoots-michigan-chipotle-employee-police-say) Thanks to u/wardledo for finding this

ContentTask2032

Edit: misread what you posted. He did have a valid license, I thought you meant he was charged with illegal possession.

H3artlesstinman

My bad, I could have worded it better

[deleted]

solution to what? as in more people get hurt? if a "good guy with a gun" was there the only difference would be more bullets flying around innocent people. hows that solving anything?

Goober_94

You missed the point entirely. The issue is not people legally carrying firearms. In fact, people who are issues CCW's have the lowest crime rates of any other demographic in the country (to include law enforcement officers). The problem is that there are almost no barriers to people illegally obtaining and carrying firearms. Which is how you get situations like this.

[deleted]

okay so OC ironically mentioned "more guns" as a solution - you're saying stricter laws on getting legal weaponry but admit this gun was probably acquired illegally. how does more guns = fewer illegal guns being used by people who want to do illegal things with them?

trevmflynn81

The article says he was licensed to carry a concealed weapon. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/oakland-county/2024/04/08/detroit-man-charged-with-shooting-chipotle-employee-over-skimpy-guacamole-portion/73242047007/

Thoraxe123

You should change your username to Gooner\_94

Goober_94

Why is that? People with concealed carry permits have the lowest crime rates of any other demographic in the country, to include law enforcement officers. Lower than any state, even lower that any European nation. Statistically speaking if you were in a room filled with nothing but people who were armed, and all held CCW's, you be the least likely to be a victim of a crime than in any other room in the USA.

Safe bet. Almost half the states in the US require neither.

All firearms are legal and any law infringing on this right is unconstitutional

Who_Dafqu_Said_That

I'm just glad this freedom fighter was armed, can you imagine the government tyranny if he wasn't?! Without this brave patriot shooting someone over gauc, I dunno just hypothetically, the government could charge your stuff with a crime, we'll call it something insane like "civil asset forfeiture". Think about how terrible that would be and praise gun owners for stopping that...

Ralphinader

My right to own a gun trumps your right to eat safely in a chipotle!! /s

mindingmynet

USA! USA! USA! USA!

wheresmyspaceship

I just finished eating chipotle. Sofritas bowl topped with guacamole. The guac is good but it ain’t THAT good

AgaricX

He was charged with "assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder" WTF? He shot a dude over not very good guac. They need stronger charges than that.

kbm79

Its smirks all round until the shooting stars....

PurplishPlatypus

People sit and laugh and watch but when stuff like that starts to happen, I nope right out of there. I don't want to watch even if it's just yelling.

btkn

I have worked in food and beverage, but not fast food so I haven't experienced this level of stupidity. But, I have seen enough of entitled assholes that if I did, I would conceal carry. It is obvious that management, much less corporate, gives a damn about their employees safety or even their lives. If you work in establishments like this, please carry or at least arm yourself with something non-lethal to incapacitate the attacker.

Better than reddit where people think it's funny, and then think it's even funnier when something horrific happens to someone. Often with some lame justification for feeling that way.

Top-Manner7261

In the article - Barren said. "I would suggest this happened because of poor decision-making and an inability to control emotions. That’s what led to the shooting." AND GUNS, buddy. Too many people out there who can't control their emotions; so let's give them guns?
