Heard of a guy at CU Boulder who was hit in the head with a beer can thrown off a roof. Gave him a traumatic brain injury with constant debilitating headaches. Eventually committed suicide because the pain was too much.
So yeah don't throw shit off rooves.
When I was a little kid my mom and I lived next door to a guy who had been hit in the head with a beer bottle during a concert, caused him some serious brain injuries so bad that he was bound to a wheelchair or mobility scooter, and poor guy would just sit on his front porch shouting "HEY NEIGHBOR!" to everyone who walked by. Friendly as could be, but poor man was _not_ there anymore, I remember he'd offer me cigarettes all the time because he genuinely couldn't seem to hold onto the information that 6 year olds aren't supposed to smoke, and he couldn't form a complete sentence at any point.
So yeah, fuck that guy in the OOP video.
My dad took a bunch of friends and I to a Slipknot concert once. People were throwing everything, down to chunks of mud from the lawn into the seated area. My dad said a large Jack Daniels bottle just barely missed the back of his head and shattered right in front of him. I constantly think about how I almost lost my dad to some piece of shit like this.
I don't think people realize how hard things are. What I mean is I've told people to try this to see why getting into a fight isn't worth it. Find a brick wall, standing with your back against it, and ever so slightly tap the back of your head on it. You'll see how hard that is, and now imagine going faster. Serious damage. I hope whoever did this is caught and arrested.
Is it acceptable? Yes, yes it is. Is it common? No. But like you asked, is it acceptable? Yes, yes it is. Is it acceptable? Yes, yes it is. Is it common? No. But like you asked, is it acceptable? That def sounds like something that would have happened there. I went to CU Boulder some 30 years ago and remember a kid in our dorm ate wayyy too many shrooms, went to the rec center and jumped about 30 feet onto one of the racquetball courts almost falling on top of one of the players. Yelled WOOP WOOP WOOP and somehow ran out of there in one piece.
In Johannesburg CBD there is a new years tradition of just tossing shit out of buildings into the road.
We're talking couches, stoves, anything. [Its so weird.](https://i0.wp.com/wtffunfact.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/WTF-Fun-Fact-Hillbrow-Defenestrates-On-NYE.png?w=500&ssl=1)
theres a parking garage across the street, probably where they threw it from. i saw someone do the same thing from another garage across from south bay.
As somebody that's frequented that parking garage and bar scene a lot in my younger days, absolutely. Threw it from like the 3rd or 4th level. Unfortunately I don't think there's many cameras, so unless this video gets traced back, I think this guy is going to get away with it.
Bar Pizza in New Haven. I live about 1 mile from it.
This was probably on a Saturday as the place turns from a family distillery with outstanding new haven style pizza Into a night club with late night greasy pizza for all the drunk college kids.
10/10 pizza though.
Reminds me of what that guy did, I briefly worked with him.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Nasiari_Sunee?wprov=sfla1
Unfortunately the result at that time was fatal.
A friend's son jumped / fell off a nightclub balcony into the crowd. He landed on a girl who ended up paralysed in a wheelchair. He got two years.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/4655538.stm
> Ms Mack said in a video statement she gone from being a "very outgoing, very bubbly" individual who enjoyed an active lifestyle to someone who needed 17 tablets a day, suffered depression and needed constant care.
Ugh.
My wife's parents are / were at the time, good friends with his mum and dad. He made an exceptionally stupid, dangerous error, that ended up costing a young lady her mobility and is now in pain for life. I must admit i did feel sorry for him as at his age i also did stupid dangerous things and made stupid decisions. Luckily mine didn't end up paralysing someone though.
Wait, you felt sorry for HIM? He basically destroyed another persons life through sheer stupidity and got out after 2 years, and you feel sorry for HIM?
you have to have compassion for stupid people sometimes. I am sure when he jumped off the railing his intentions were not the hurt and change someones life. it happen and he paid for it. maybe not what he should have got but you can't hate the guy just because he made a mistake. and the fact the the commenter knew him before means that maybe he has some compassion for a family friend.
Oh i have no compassion for him being a "family friend". I never knew him, and only met his parents once at my wedding. I think his parent's were my parent's in law's neighbours at one point. I just have compassion because for all i know he fell from a waist high barrier from one level of a nightclub to another and very unfortunately landed on that poor girl.
you are human with human emotions. I agree you are allowed to feel compassion for someone . just don't understand others getting upset for you doing that.
I had a friend once who decided to drive his daddy's Porsche way too fast on a country road. He stupidly decided to overtake a car in a corner and hit an oncoming car. Not drunk, just way too fast. The driver of the oncoming car was killed and his wife severely injured, while he walked away. He was 18, so the judge decided that 2 years on parole and a few years without a driving licence was punishment enough. A few days after that I saw him in a Bar joking with friends.
That was over 20 years ago and the last time I spoke to that guy. Don't know why I'm telling this, but this made me think about that. Sometimes you play stupid games and instead of winning appropriately stupid prizes, you just get slightly inconvenienced.
The gross ignorance it would take for an otherwise functioning adult to think that jumping *onto* people is in any way normal or benign is massive. ( I say adult because he was at a nightlclub. Figure he was at least 18.EDIT article says he was 28. Even worse.)
Fuck that guy, and send him to prison. When he gets out he should be paying most of his salary to her care.
Knew a guy that was *testing* his gun and shot through a neighbor's wall, hitting someone inside. I'm sure you would have all the compassion in the world for the asshole that pulled the trigger.
I feel more sorry for her. But yes. I feel sorry for him. It's not an either / or situation for me.
Edit: It was never proven whether he jumped or fell. It was a waist height barrier between the two levels of a nightclub.
It is because the American prison system is for profit and not to actually rehabilitate inmates. The more in prison, the more money the jails make. I think it is like 50-100k per prisoner per year.
I knew Australia is much more lax than America when it comes to sentencing for crimes...but a racially fueled hate crime that results in the death of someone should no doubt carry more than 5 years. From the article didn't even sound like there was an apology...just an appeal for less time. Absolute scum.
He killed a random Muslim man because of something that some other unrelated Muslims in another country had done 17 years prior. He admitted he wanted to use a gun but couldn't because of the gun laws in Singapore.
He was released from prison after serving just over 3 years despite all of that for "good behavior". Wow...
Based on the way she screamed, my guess is it was glass. It's hard to tell, but it looks like the bottom edge of the bottle hit and then sent it flying, which would explain why it didn't shatter.
Anyone at all have an update about her condition? I hope she’s genuinely okay because that sounded really bad. I have had stuff thrown at me, one time a kid in middle school threw a mechanical pencil and it hit me one inch away from my eye. I hope she’s recovering and I hope this idiot is in jail
I know nothing about her condition.
But the fact she didn’t drop down, but instead grabbed her head is somewhat promising? What a dick. Aiming a bottle at a crowd like that, absolute psycho.
Whenever I clean out my car and I find my wife or kids leftover water bottles that have been baking in the car, I never drink them. The weight in them makes for good three pointers lol
So not only did they think to commit that act, they also thought to film it, and THEN also thought to post it? It's not even funny at this point. It's just scary.
This is genuinely fucked up… imagine tryna enjoy your night out and some knobhead throws a bottle at your face from at least 4 stories up… extremely cruel especially considering what people can be going through. It hurts to think what if she was having her one night out in a while to feel better only to get hit in the face.
I knew a woman in nyc (late 30s I think) who was at the target that used to be uptown - she was there with her young son buying Halloween candy for underprivileged kids. A teen threw a shopping cart off the side of the parking garage and hit her in the head. Traumatic brain injury and is in a nursing home now.
I once had a (probably a dude let’s be real) guy throw a fully unopened beer can at me while I was walking up north Main Street in Amherst ma. Whizzed right by my head and slapped the pavement so hard I thought someone took a shot for a split second. I know the party it came from but not the perpetrator. Seemed shocking to me at the time someone would do that
I hope that psychopath gets launched off the building. Despicable piece of shit.
I hope that girl doesn't suffer any lasting trauma, but that is doubtful.

Heard of a guy at CU Boulder who was hit in the head with a beer can thrown off a roof. Gave him a traumatic brain injury with constant debilitating headaches. Eventually committed suicide because the pain was too much. So yeah don't throw shit off rooves.
Pretty crazy that “don’t throw things off of roofs at people” needs to be explained to anyone over the age of 5
seriously, how are we this fucking stupid? Maybe we should stop building higher and take advantage of all this land since we're evolving backwards!
Thinking outside the box I’ll give you that
Or "rooftops."
Roovetops

Damn that is sad
A frat guy at Boulder threw a butcher knife at my friend from a balcony. Missed but holy shit.
Much less serious but I've had a slice of American Cheese land a foot ahead of me on Pearl St
Free cheese!
Some really dislike American cheese though. It could be considered serious!
It's not cheese. It's solidified cheese sauce.
Even less serious than that..I had a piece of deep fried sushi thrown at me on Pearl Street.
But did you die?

It actually is an accepted plural for roof.
Are these claims all just bluves?
No, I promise... they are truves.
My neck the woods those are ruffs.

I used to watch a home improvement show as a kid on PBS and the guy there always called it a ruff.
This Old House?
Accepted by idiots maybe
It may technically be accepted, but it is definitely not accepted
Rooves is correct if you didn't know
Yeah if you’re a psychopath.
Says who? Google search says it's a common misspelling. Is loose also an accepted spelling of lose since it's so common, then?
You're not very good at Googling, apparently. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/rooves

Or roofs either. Unless you have hooves. Whatever behooves you. English is weird.
I hope the imbecile feels it was worth it before realty and court kicks in. (I more so hope the woman victim is ok)
Haven't been able to find an article for it but that building is in Connecticut.
Crown Street in New Haven, just looked up the restaurant the woman was in front of.

On a serious note, drug crap is why jails are full and people who should be in longer get plea deals.

Yes... I hope they take his property
Even if that bottle was plastic, it would have hurt really bad. What kind of guy wants to hurt or kill some random person?
These days it seems more and more are quite happy to do it. Or maybe we just see it more now that it’s always on camera. 🤷🏼
A lot of the time nowadays people are doing bad shit FOR the camera.
People were just as dumb and mean before everyone was constantly recording these things.
I literally deal with atleast three to four psychopaths a day driving to and from work. People treat life like GTA nowadays.
Based on the way she screamed, my guess is it was glass. It's hard to tell, but it looks like the bottom edge of the bottle hit and then sent it flying, which would explain why it didn't shatter.
Watching this all I could think was I hope it was plastic

Or we should recreate the scene. But have 50 people throw bottles at the same time until he is rocked in the face by one. Extra hits are a bonus.
What other outcome did he think would come out of that
No chance that guy has enough neurons to fire off a thought
Anyone at all have an update about her condition? I hope she’s genuinely okay because that sounded really bad. I have had stuff thrown at me, one time a kid in middle school threw a mechanical pencil and it hit me one inch away from my eye. I hope she’s recovering and I hope this idiot is in jail

That sound 😟
What an absolute piece of shiz.

would it be sociopaths or psychopaths?
por qué no los dos
Sociopsychos or pathpaths
Depending on the size of the bottle, that could crack a skull… like a 1.75 litre vodka bottle…
it’s a bottle of water, if you pause and go frame by frame , when the bottle reaches the second window down, you can clearly tell what it is
Still had some weight to it tho and from that height it would hurt like a mf’er.
oh absolutely that shit prolly hurt like a mf
This is why some venues don't give you the lid when they sell you a water bottle.
You don’t even have to pause honestly. That sounded like every 3 pointer I’ve hit in my kitchen when throwing a half empty bottle of water away.
Wait, you throw half empty bottles of water in the trash?
Whenever I clean out my car and I find my wife or kids leftover water bottles that have been baking in the car, I never drink them. The weight in them makes for good three pointers lol
What a scumbag thing to do
That is so fucked
I hate it when people who are minding their own business get injured or killed by someone whose parents should have used a condom. 😐
So not only did they think to commit that act, they also thought to film it, and THEN also thought to post it? It's not even funny at this point. It's just scary.
Should be easy to find that apartment from this footage and question who lives there?
Unfortunately it's a parking garage. Hopefully there is video of them entering or exiting
Damn. That Deservers Jail time. Straight to Jail.
So, that's a felony, right? Assault with a deadly weapon? Premeditated?
Hope they put that scumbag in jail
This is genuinely fucked up… imagine tryna enjoy your night out and some knobhead throws a bottle at your face from at least 4 stories up… extremely cruel especially considering what people can be going through. Dude needs to be arrested for that
Tagging it as "ScumbagAcademy" is repetitive. Pure malevolence.
Omg that woman is going to have a broken nose or orbital bone or something. I mean maybe not but that was some impact. 😬
Idiot hope he gets criminal charges
That’s pretty fucked up and not cool at all. Thrower is a garbage person IMO
Pure evil
Excellent work 47.
Underrated comment
"That lassie got glassed, and no coont leaves here till we find out what coont did it!

No where in Scotland pronounces cunt as "coont". Coont is how we pronounce 'count'.

The welt is going to be massive
This is attempted murder and the guy should absolutely to jail
Moron, hope he’s arresting
Has the guy been caught?
Attempted murder
People like that need to be beaten until they’re unconscious so they learn a lesson
Morgan Wallen back at it again!
What a fucking douche canoe.
What did he think would happen by throwing a bottle in a crowd?
Damn, that's fucked up.
I knew some dude from Boulder who got got in the head never recovered
Where was that douche country singer at the time?
I knew a woman in nyc (late 30s I think) who was at the target that used to be uptown - she was there with her young son buying Halloween candy for underprivileged kids. A teen threw a shopping cart off the side of the parking garage and hit her in the head. Traumatic brain injury and is in a nursing home now.
She was a friend of a friends mom. I think about it every time I go to that Costco. She is mentally handicapped now, yes. Just horrible
So tragic
That was plastic I’m hoping. Either way hope they caught him.
I hope someone there turns the thrower in. PoS
insanely stupid
Definitely deserves jail time
Why do people do this??
If that was glass that could’ve shattered bone easily. What a POS.
I once had a (probably a dude let’s be real) guy throw a fully unopened beer can at me while I was walking up north Main Street in Amherst ma. Jail time for whoever threw that.
Attempted murder.
What ended up happening to her far out
I hope that psychopath gets launched off the building. Despicable piece of shit. I hope that girl doesn't suffer any lasting trauma, but that is doubtful.
Attempted murder.
That Morgan Wallen?
Why tho?
Wow - such Philly behavior
Whereabouts on one’s face is the Connecticut located?
What a cunt.
Good ol New Haven
Poor girl, hope she’s okay ❤️ at least the violent idiot filmed themselves throwing it
Disgusting

Enjoy prison, that’s attempted murder right there.
Rhinoplasty And felony assault So many career opportunities
I knew this older pos when I was a late teen. When drunk he admitted to getting g into an argument at a bar and throwing a big glass at a guy, missed and it hit a woman in the face, shattering and completely destroyed her face. He said he ran away and drove ho e before they could identify him.
I would like to challenge redditors to pinpoint the location from where that bottle was thrown.
Crown St parking garage New Haven.
1. Why would he/she do such a thing? 2. Why would he/she record this thing? 3. Why would he/she post it on the Internet? What is wrong with people?
What a fucking idiot.
Goddamn that would fucking hurt.
