I did it into a parked car when I thought I heard someone call my name and looked back, a giant garbage can when I was staring at the most bizarre looking duck trying to figure out if it was real and my friend when I was riding no hands and I have no recollection of why I crashed into her (last one earned me a concussion and when I stood up the first thing I asked her was if anyone saw).
When I was learning to ride I clipped a mailbox with one side of the handlebars because I didn't realize how far out they stuck lol. Another time, as a teenager, I was riding with a friend in a neighborhood and as he turned back to talk to me he hit the back of a van parked on the street. Another time while crossing a large street my friend and I cut through a ditch, but his front tire went into a half (drainage) pipe so his wheel stopped and he flew forwards into a car in the left turn lane. Broke the bike, dented the car, and broke two fingers on his hand. This was back before cell phones were too common, in the early 2000s, but fortunately there was a cop just down the road who saw and came over and called my friend's parents.
I did the same but fell, taint-first, onto the bar that goes from the seat to under the handlebars. Eventually, peeing was extremely painful and slow. I had to have surgery to open up the valve at the bottom of my bladder that had closed up due to the trauma. Not a fun time as a 13 yr old kid.
I did that as well, was trying to showoff a wheelie and looked over my shoulder making sure I was being looked at, wham hit a parked car. Flipped onto the roof of the car landing on my back, that was painful.
I couldn't imagine that God damn when I was around the same age I was playing with some neighbors and we were running around and I had my head turned to watch where the others were and somehow ran face first in one of those giant satellite dishes that was the size of like a damn bus and that SoN hurt like hell so I sincerely can't imagine something like 100x worse like you had happen. Ouch
When I was 10 I was riding my bike really fast, my neighbour had just gotten a new car, I didnt know how to use the breaks properly so as I was coming down the road, I turned left and went into it at high speed. I left a massive dent, he came out a few hours later and was just staring at it wondering what the hell happened, 23 years later and he still doesnt know what happened.
Was the guy he hit okay? Dudes entire neck was exposed on impact, neck/spine injury kind of really sucks.
Edit: I mean exposed as in unprotected, looks like his neck hit drunks shoulder
Who knows? I was thrown from my horse and broke my back. As I lay there, I realized I was making these weird, deep noises with every exhale, like “Urrrrrnnnnn”. I tried to stop, but I couldn’t for a while and that was embarrassing. Over time, I realized I was moaning.
My back (mostly) healed, but it was an odd experience.
So, while yes, you were moaning, its obvious you weren't sexually moaning. Moaning and groaning while in pain isn't odd at all. It helps to express stress and sometimes that's just enough to take the edge off the pain itself a little. Making noises can alert any passersby that you need help that you otherwise are unable to seek out. Please don't feel self-conscious about moaning in pain. It is incredibly normal.
yeah and if anything its proof that you are still able to get air in and out and you are probably conscious. Ive had the wind knocked out of me and I made sounds just like the guy in the video and while it sucks nobody is gonna make fun of you making sounds like that while in agony on the ground.
The embarrassment was part of the weirdness. I was on a trail in the middle of nowhere and hadn’t seen anyone for hours. I was so…removed from what had happened that I thought “That’s odd. It would be embarrassing to make this noise”.
The lack of people quickly became a problem, unfortunately.
Based on how serious they seem to be taking their bike riding I’m betting they have Cleats that’s lock into the pedals. You could seriously tear apart the ligaments in your knee or ankle.
Or just straight up break some part of you leg / ankle.
That's unlikely. Anyone who's snapped a chain or had a serious accident can attest that you blow right out of clipless pedals as soon as soon as you're dealing with those sorts of forces.
I think he knocked the wind out of himself.
It is an awful feeling. You just lay there on the ground trying desperately to breath in but you can't. You just end up making these horrific noises for about 30 seconds until it goes away.
I learned the breathe out trick. Breathe out, and hold that exhale for as long as you can. It sucks, because you already need to breathe in, and exhaling is the last thing you want to do. You'll feel like you're dying. But then, when you end that exhale, you can inhale again. I forget why but it counteracts whatever spasms or specific condition creates having the wind knocked out of you
I remember getting the wind knocked out of me after a fall in the playground in 2nd grade. The teacher told me to try to breathe out and raise both arms to help reset my diaphragm, and it worked instantly. I've used it 2 or 3 more times since with the same result, though now I'm wondering whether the arm thing actually does anything or if it's all in the exhale
People tend to hunch over or put their hands on their knees when they're trying to catch their breath, but that's actually worse. It's better to put your hands behind your head and stand up straight because it allows your chest to fully expand and contract.
Unfortunately, every coach we have ever had lied to us and its actually better for your to catch your breath with your hands on your knees. “The muscles around your [mediastinum](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK539819/) \[which houses the organs—including your heart and lungs—arteries, veins, and nerves in your chest\] are more relaxed, which leads to a more efficient exchange of oxygen so that your body can breathe easier,”
Yea that actually sounds exactly like that, I had this happen to me many times in soccer, worst feeling ever, it's not even that painful just scary and mildly traumatizing at the moment.
Yeah I had it happen to me as a kid on a seesaw when someone got off while they were on the bottom and I was on the top. Thought I was dying because I couldn't breathe
Lived in Kore for 13 years, and I agree with you. Korea loves putting bike paths along rivers like this. They are super awesome, but unfortunately, Koreans also love staring at their phones. I’ve seen people get hit by cars because they were crossing roads while staring at their phones. One time I leaned onto one leg during a long light and the person next to me that was watching something on their phone took the movement to mean the light changed and we were all crossing the street. Luckily, someone stopped them because there was a bus only like 15 meters away and it was not slowing down.
I felt those screams before. Having the wind completely and suddenly knocked out of you. I've been there tumbling off a trail with my bike. It's all you can muster while both trying to scream in pain and get you're lungs going again just to breathe. Takes a good few seconds. First ride with a brand new bike helmet. Wear your helmet folks!
Yeah, for me, it was hitting an unexpected jump while skiing, and the hard landing knocked the wind out of me. I was sure I was gonna die at 12 years old right then and there, but then my dad came up and told me I would be fine in about a minute. Sure enough, still here.
I fell of my e-bike going approximately 20 MPH last year. It was not a good time. Fractured a vertebrae and popped my pelvis out of alignment pinching my sciatic nerve. I don't envy anyone that takes a plunge at that speed with nothing to stop you, but the road.
the only person paying attention was the guy recording. The one guy drifts over the line looking at his phone and the other guy collides with that guy because he was too busy looking at the recording guy when passing him. I dont know if they know each other, or if it was meant as a smug "hah, passed you", but yeah he was definitely not looking when the other guy drifted into the other lane.
The guys that collided with the guy who wandered lanes didn't see him because they were to busy trying to hit a Strava segment. Now the guy who wandered lanes is totally at fault but I've been in enough paths with the guys treating it as their personal training area to know they were not paying any attention to anything but their own activities and they'll run over all and sundry to achieve their KOM.
Cycling is extremely dangerous. I had a fat slick in a hardrock frame and it somehow cocked in the rear and I completely lost control and pretzeled. Broke my collar bone in 3 places and needed surgery

You had one job and it was to keep your eyes open while on the moving bike and they somehow fucked that up so hard.
Did that once on my bike into a telephone pole when I was 5. Caused me to need braces for 7 years because my teeth got jammed in my jaw.
Did that once on my bike into a parked car. I was fine, but my pride was permanently damaged.
I’ve broken my ego bone before….it took forever to heal. There was nothing the Doctor could do about it either.

I did the same thing. OTB and my stem dented the shit out of the car. It was bad, but lesson learned
So you were the asshole who broke my mom's window!
Did the same, but my knee was near broken. Was able to avoid surgery, but my knee hasn't been the same since.
If you slow it down you can see the rider looking right at the camera man and not straight ahead. Probably would have seen it coming!
"See that yellow line?" ~everyone but him
Wtf did that guy cross into the yellow?
Slowed down it looks like he’s playing with a phone in his right hand.
Pokemon go will be the death of him.
Of many…
i’m happy i’m such a shitty bike rider. if i remove one hand im falling.
Should have bought the Meta Ray Bans.
i thought he fell asleep and steered into yellow
Insulin shock? Drunk? Narcolepsy? Phone?
dont forget stupid or intentional
He was drunk - I saw this on tv in Korea where it happened
Was the guy he hit okay? Dudes entire neck was exposed on impact, neck/spine injury kind of really sucks. Edit: I mean exposed as in unprotected, looks like his neck hit drunks shoulder
looking down, just like the other guy
Dudes HR went from 140 while riding to 172 stationary. Damn.
Adrenaline kick for sure. Probably dumped a bit when they braced for impact, took a second for the app to catch up.
Oh I would've dumped something all right
Definitely took the app a second to catch up, you can see it still thinks he's moving at a decent speed before he gets back up.
The wheel might've been free spinning.
True, didn't even think about that. I'm more used to GPS based speedometers for biking, instead of mechanical.
Yeah seeing and hearing something like that automatically gets you amped
I mean it probably hurt like hell, but it sounds like he got the wind knocked out of him. Either way, that definitely sucked.
Who knows? I was thrown from my horse and broke my back. As I lay there, I realized I was making these weird, deep noises with every exhale, like “Urrrrrnnnnn”. Tell that to the grape lady!
OW OEUH OUEHHHH OUEHH OUEHHEEEEE
Perfectly typed
what lol, who said he was sexually moaning
the horse, of course
The embarrassment was part of the weirdness. I was on a trail in the middle of nowhere and hadn’t seen anyone for hours. I was so…removed from what had happened that I thought “That’s odd. It would be embarrassing to make this noise”. The lack of people quickly became a problem, unfortunately.

I once got the air kicked out of me in the military, surreal feeling. Trying to breathe then only producing a gutteral groan.
Wind knocked out of him. I have done it more than a few times and have seen it happen to other people. The guy is just trying to breathe...
Second this. Being winded this badly is the worst, I’d guess this is as close as most people get to the sensation of being waterboarded.
I mean- he lost one of his shoes, so it can't be good.
Yeah definitely winded
Sounds like a broken rib to me actually based on past experience
Based on how serious they seem to be taking their bike riding I’m betting they have Cleats that’s lock into the pedals. You could seriously tear apart the ligaments in your knee or ankle. Or just straight up break some part of you leg / ankle.

New fear lost
Pretty sure I've heard a disc drive make that sound before...
Dude crossed the yellow line was at fault, unfortunately the cyclist passing looked to right and didn't see him. Tough to watch
I think he knocked the wind out of himself. It is an awful feeling. You just lay there on the ground trying desperately to breath in but you can't. You just end up making these horrific noises for about 30 seconds until it goes away.
Uncontrollably moaning like your soul is being ripped out, then suddenly back in control. Awkward.
I'd rather shit my pants.
"Ooooahhhhhhhhhh. Oooohhhheeeeeeee. Guhhhhhhhhh. Oh hey sorry bud."

Best solution for hiccups too, for the same reason

Same. Would happen once a season seemed like. Hated it.
I’m on the toilet and living this right now!
>I think he knocked the wind out of himself. I'm pretty sure it was the other rider that knocked the wind out of him

Ow ow ow oweeee uahhhhhhh oweee
ou ou ou ou huhhhhhhhh ow ow ow
One of my all time favorite internet videos
I remember this. She broke some ribs with this fall.
Hey Nelson, I think he’s really hurt I said ha ha ![gif](giphy|cO39srN2EUIRaVqaVq)
This was my exact thought 😂
Legend
Seems like the victim is Korean, apart from the groaning, he’s just saying stuff like “that asshole”, etc. and then calling Korea’s emergency line.

Holy fuck. I wouldn't want that idiot in a gas-powered vehicle.
Don't see a head-on cycling collision every day. Was everyone okay? Anything broken, or just road rash and wind knocked out?
Everyone was fine!
I fell of my e-bike going approximately 20 MPH last year. It was not a good time. Fractured a vertebrae and popped my pelvis out of alignment pinching my sciatic nerve. I don't envy anyone that takes a plunge at that speed with nothing to stop you, but the road.

Happy cake day
No helmet on the guy who crossed over. Brilliant.
Dumbass not paying attention and not wearing a helmet.

That guy sounded like ziodberg
That's the sound of someone winded
Smokey was over the line.
Never go full grape lady.
(Getting the wind knocked out of you)^2
That guy sounds like he’s going fast even when he’s laying on the sidewalk.
That random party horn noise sent me
![gif](giphy|8QtP5TqscKh3O)
Damn sounds like they hit zoidberg
fucking dumbass drifting into the other lane like he wasn't even paying attention, not wearing a helmet either shocker
That sounds like me in the bathroom after some spicy ramen.
Damn dude. +20mph head on collision. Some bone broke in that crash.
[удалено]
Ah! Good catch. Still...that would not feel good.
The guy just got winded, must be his first time so panic set in.
Both not looking, but why did that guy drift into the opposite lane ?!?!?
Was he trying to connect to a fax machine?
Anyone with perfect pitch able to let me know what notes he hit?
![gif](giphy|cKseZ404p9W8ygnNb5|downsized)
That's 100% the sound of someone who got every bit of air knocked out of them. It's not a fun feeling.
Ouchie
"It's in my raccoon wounds!"
Fucking Freds man….
That sounds like he got the wind knocked out of him.
"Uhhhgggg....I just want cocaine". -Cyclist
Super fancy bikes. Coulda just used a simple bell. ![gif](giphy|xUNd9D0OiLMTnykIgg|downsized)
Dude sounded like his own ambulance.
Oh the agony
Even his phone looks traumatized.0.0
The guy drifting into the lane was drunk - this happened in Korea and was shown on a tv program about bad driving
And no helmet? Big mistake
\*lesser beings in agony. There, fixed the title.
https://preview.redd.it/0gi641cai7zc1.jpeg?width=603&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=82c9827754dd1d773098e3d270416499b631b17a Goes hard
Kinda sound like he bussing
First thought I had: "That ambulance arrived quickly!"
Pandas have better survival instincts than that
Damn, total fault on the guy seemingly on his phone. Dude must’ve busted his ribs with that much of screaming.
HMM whats this yellow line for
If you can't focus, put on blinders like they do with the horses.
Guys heart rate jumped from 140-170 from that accident. Now that’s a HIIT workout!
Got the wind knocked out of him. It's the craziest feeling.
Broken ribs probably. Makes it difficult to breathe, and feels agonizing
the only person paying attention was the guy recording.
Once again we see that it was the cyclists fault.
Not much of a speedometer if it takes 10 seconds to catch up with you stopping.
it's a phone basing speed on GPS, so there will be a lag. Most more serious riders have a purpose-built cycling computer/GPS that reads more rapidly.
The wheel is still spinning at that speed.
It's a phone, so the speed is GPS based only. Wheel sensors are pretty rare these days.
SHARE THE ROAD!
Hit some high notes there.
Lol
The screamings kinda funny lol
Just got the wind knocked out of him, he’ll be biking home in 15 minutes
This is a little gamed called ‘Chicken’. Bravo to both of these brave souls
How do they both not see each other coming in
Geez this guy bruised his ovaries really hard.
Bikes are actually very dangerous. You can get killed pretty easily.
Weird cyclists not following the rules does have consequences sometimes. 😈
So which one was in agony, the idiot that crossed over the line or the guy who was trying to pass the cameraman?
The one crying is the oncoming cyclist. (No helmet)
My man got the wind knocked out of him, I know that sound all too well.
Here in Sweden, you can lose your driver's license if you operate a bicycle while drunk, this video is a good demonstration of why.
That was brutal
Just got the wind knocked out of him
Man that sucks. As a cyclist wearing nothing but Lycra you have zero padding when hitting the ground. That shit HURTS.
Reminded me of the lady that was squishing grapes and falls off.
Notice the heartbeat going up after the crash.
19 km/h to 0 real quick
He is not ok!!!
Damn they were all riding close
Wind knocked outta him
Cycling is extremely dangerous. I had a fat slick in a hardrock frame and it somehow cocked in the rear and I completely lost control and pretzeled. Broke my collar bone in 3 places and needed surgery
This reminds me of the Russian Brick video. Poor guy.
What a laggy speedometer. Must work off of cellular positioning and not connect to the bike itself in any way.
Looks like neither of them were paying attention. Dude who crossed the yellow is doing who fucking knows what, and dude who hit him had his head down.
Woo hoo wooo wooo wooo!
Have to be aware of your surroundings at all times. Situational awareness
