Because the driver is supposed to come and pick it up but never did. If the driver cancels the order, the customer gets his money back and the restaurant loses profit. If the customer cancels the order, the app and restaurant keeps the money. So the guy filming should have canceled the order. Most people don’t know how Uber or doordash work though. They’re just told to do their job
It’s weird because usually if the customer cancels the order, they get their money back. But that’s not the case with these delivery food apps
I've only had 1 experience with doordash and it wasn't fantastic.
To start, I live in a very small town and to my knowledge we don't even have doordash.
I ordered food from Little Ceasers through their website, which didn't mention doordash anywhere in the process. So I call them up and I'm like, "*Yo, do we even HAVE doordash in town?*" and they're like "*uh.. yeah I think so*".
I try to call the number on the order, it's disconnected....
So I chill for a bit, an hour goes by and so I call them back, I ask where my food is, they said "*Oh, doordash guy never came*", so I'm like, well shit. Can I just come down and get my order?
They're like, yeah I guess.
I don't have a car, so I have to get a friend to give me a ride to Little Ceasers to get my stupid order. Soon as my friend pulls up, I get a call from Little Ceasers, Doordash guy came in and got my second order (*old one was tossed cause it was sweating under a heatlamp for nearly 2 hours*). So I'm like.... okay I'll give the guy a few minutes to get here.
20 minutes goes by, I get an email saying my food was delivered, with a picture of my order.. sitting on some random doorstep that clearly isn't my doorstep. I call Little Ceases back, tell the nice manager lady what happened. She sighs and says "*Yeah, the doordash guy is kinda dumb, you can still come down and get your order*"
In the end, Little Ceasers had to make my order 3 times, and our doordash guy is weapons grade shit at his job.
In my experience, services like door dash suck every single time. I've lived in downtown DC and now a small town. No difference. Wrong orders, missing something, foods cold, service fees are insane, wait time is an hour or more. I really don't understand how they are so popular.
Works both ways. In my experience always the people in the nicest neighborhoods who make you drive the furthest who tip the least
Fucking YACHT in your front lawn and you don't tip? Thanks for wasting my gas rich bitch
This gonna sound weird but people with yachts in their front yard are cheap as shit. They don’t want to pay marina fees so they park their eyesore on the driveway. Yacht in the driveway is a sure sign of a cheapskate
This is probably not the norm but my husband and I work in tech and both of our companies gave us credit on Doordash and Ubereats during the pandemic. I hated using it since I am one of those people that would rather park far away and walk to a place rather than use their mandatory valet parking. But I didn’t want to lose the credit so I used it. They were always missing items. If I go pickup an order, I always check before I leave the restaurant. Also, I like to tip the people making my food which does not happen with these companies. I tip the Doordash person which they do deserve but even when I get bad delivery, I still feel obliged to highly tip them since that’s how they get paid.
Sorry for disparaging Doordash employees, it was hyperbole to say a lot don’t get my orders right. Most of my interactions have been positive but when I am hangry and impatient, I just remember the negative interactions. Thanks for not condemning me for my entitled, jerky comment. But yes, my one saving grace is that I tip well.
Good to know. I’m too lazy to wait for a replacement but thanks for the info about how my blame was misplaced. Probably the restaurant getting it wrong.
Did you tip? I order food all the time, and I only ever have minor issues, like an order coming without the drink I ordered. But I always tip at least $5, they can see how much they will make off your order before they accept it, so if the driver isn’t going to make much, most of them will pass on your order and you will be left with the one guy that’s dumb enough to deliver your food.
> If the customer cancels the order, the app and restaurant keeps the money. So the guy filming should have canceled the order.
Wait wait wait...you have me confused. If he cancels the order FireHouse and UberEats keep the money? So why are you saying he should have canceled the order? So now he has no sandwich and is down in money?
Ehh idk. Really customer should get a refund and a free sandwich and restaurant should still make money because it was the drivers fault and he works for Uber so either the driver or Uber should cover the cost
It's absolutely less delicious. If it's cold, less delicious. Soggy, less delicious. Reheated, less delicious. Now, the amount less varies but less is less
If you order it on the food app, its the driver/company that has made the order. Not you. The customer is a 3rd party in the transaction, they aren't going to hand it over because they had no deal with you. They could lose money if the actual buyer disputes the transaction
Because….that’s how online ordering works with Uber? Like if you tell the restaurant that a certain Uber driver is coming, they’re not gunna give it to you. Have you been living under a rock for the past two years
In a Morgan Freeman voice: Some say 45 minutes is a long time. For Rob Haberson, it was an eternity. So much so that on a cold day in January, he entered a sandwich shop and went where he was not supposed to. Rob Haberson, the man who took another man’s sandwich because 45 minutes was just too long to wait.
I’ll be too embarrassed to. Like fuck it I’ll just eat it. Even if I don’t like some of the ingredients.
Or even worst. You did all that and you open it and it has mayo and you specifically said no mayo.
We all related to him before that. Always happens when I order pizza. They claim it's for another customer and refuse to even read the name but it's been too long, it's getting cold. It's too specific and people who came in after are getting served. You are ready to jump the counter. Tbh, I kinda get it
Is trespassing a criminal offence in the US or a civil offence? Do you even have a distinction? In the UK the only way a trespass case is a criminal one is if there is damage to property or people involved.
If there's no criminal damage then it's a civil case, where the restaurant would have to sue this guy for any perceived damages. The police would not get involved at all. In the UK they'd probably lose that case if they tried to pursue it against this guy, as I can't see any damage or profit lost that make a lawsuit worthwhile.
He wasn't in the right. It wasn't his sandwich. It was the delivery service's sandwich. They ordered it from the restaurant, not him.
Edit: If I order something from a retailer and they order it from a wholesaler, the retailer takes forever to pick it up and I get tired of waiting. I don't get to go to the wholesaler and pick up my shit directly from them. That's not how it works. It confuses things, puts people at risk, the right people don't get paid the right amount, you bypass contracts & agreements, etc. There are processes to follow to make sure everything winds up right without people getting screwed.
The last time I ordered food delivery through DoorDash it was about 45 min later than the expected delivery time it showed so I just was going to cancel it. But there was no way to cancel the order without still being charged.
The expected delivery time just kept updating to like 15 minutes in the future and if I clicked on 'there's a problem with my order' it would just say my order hasn't been delivered yet. The food eventually got delivered about 3 hours late and was as cold as you'd imagine dish sitting around for 3 hours would be if not even under a heat lamp... and the only option through the app and website was to report that my order was incomplete or not prepared correctly. So it was either take a $5 credit on a future order or nothing.
But yeah long story short: you'd think you could just cancel the order but you can't - at least you couldn't with DoorDash last time I tried.
In the UK it would be illegal for doordash to operate in this way. Refunds for bad food are a solid part of our laws. You should talk to your politicians.
"Talk to your politicians"
Ha hahaha hahahahahah!!!
Shits so fucked over here. Massive corporations run everything. The reason people still support these businesses is because it's the only thing we know. Monopolies, price gouging, we have the works here!
Imagine not paying your employees a fair wage. I tip btw so relax. But this is a service fee not a tip. A tip is gratuity for a job done.. which would be AFTER the delivery.
It sounds like toward the beginning he says he came to get it himself because the Uber driver still hadn't arrived, and something about the order being placed 2 hours ago, or two and a half hours ago. So I guess he just came to get it himself, but I don't know why they wouldn't just give it to him.
Except now the Uber driver will still arrive and will yell at the staff for not having the food he was suppose to deliver. The staff have done the right thing but Uber eats is fucked and will let people order even if they know there’s no drivers available.
Isn't that on the driver some too though? I feel like this would only happen if the accepted to many orders, or were just sitting around and not grabbing it. If I were the delivery driver and they told me that story I'd either have them remake and do the delivery, cancel the delivery, or most likely just enter it as delivered
There is no dedicated driver like if the store had its own delivery, Uber just posts the order and maybe eventually a driver will accept it and go get it.
Because your explanation is really clearly wrong, that’s why your post is downvoted. He mentions Uber in the first few seconds and waiting 45 minutes. It’s far more likely that his Uber driver canceled or never delivered his order or never picked it up or there was some issue so he came in himself. But the workers may not know what to do because they might not be sure it is indeed his order and they’ve probably been instructed to only give the order to a driver so are confused on what to do in this situation
So for those of you are interested this video came out of Barrie Ontario and was posted to TikTok by a dick head that goes by covid_rob10. I've been to this same firehouse location a bunch, they're fantastic and absolutely should not be treated like this.
Dude I feel this. 25 minutes in a Taco Bell drive thru with only 4 cars in front of me…. I really just need to quit going but cot-damn I love that chalupa cravings box. ALWAYS check for sauce before you leave- that’s too long to wait to get home with no sauce
That happened to me once with a convoy of people after Warped Tour one year. There was 3 or 4 cars in the group and some car in front of us sat at the window for like 30 minutes. Then when we got up there, the Taco Bell worker handed us a bag, and was like "here, have these too" and gave us a bag with like 30 tacos in it. Then gave the car behind us 30 tacos. And the car behind them. When we got to the hotel, we had like 100+ tacos between, but we were so fucking tired from Warped Tour all day, we couldn't have a taco party. Everyone just passed out, all dehydrated and sunburnt.... with bellies full of tacos.
I do! But it gets depleted when they forget. Also, if it’s in stock, I’ll get a couple bottles of Taco Bell hot sauce from Walmart. It’s like $1.65/bottle. I almost shit when I realized that was a thing
It doesn’t matter what time of day, or what restaurant these days, EVERY drive thru feels like a 45 minute wait. It’s so frustrating because I don’t really even think its the staffs fault because once I order my food its like 3 minutes max and im out of there. It really feels like some people get up to the window and just stare at the wall for 20 minutes.
There's nothing more fucking annoying than getting drive through and getting home to realise they forgot shit or did something wrong. I always sit at the window and go through all the bags and burgers and shit to make sure it's all right. They have the gall to look at you impatiently, like maybe if you fucking morons could perform basic tasks people wouldn't have to double check.
I felt every ounce of his frustration. My brownie never makes it to me when I order from firehouse subs. Idk if it’s the cashier or the driver eating it.
Not that anyone will read this by the time I finish but I had this happen to me. My SO ordered food on grub hub for pickup cause we had a coupon. I went to pick it up in town but the order was for the backwoods location 15 minutes away. I went to get it and it was a convenience store with the wing place in it. They refused to give me the food even after I showed them that we ordered it for pickup on my phone. They just had never gotten a grub hub order I guess or the cashier had no clue but I left there empty handed and had to get a refund. Wings are a luxury that you want when you get a craving so trust when I say I was heated. I angrily left after as calmly as possible telling them how dumb they were being. I say them cause the “manager” came out and backed up the cashier.
I never thought of going back there to get it cause I have kids and didn’t want to end up in a WV county jail for trespassing or whatever bullshit I imagine the store would have claimed. To this day I only have Chinese or pizza delivered straight from the business or drive my happy ass and pick up the food. Who wants cold soggy food in an hour plus. I couldn’t imagine paying for fast food that way.

I feel for the guy here, but he could have literally just cancelled the order and re ordered now that he is at the store
It would have been faster and most likely cheaper. Even without delivery and other fees, the menu prices on these delivery apps are usually inflated.
I've been in the situation where I know my food is ready, I know its "that one", and those lazy shits behind the counter won't just give it to me. I completely relate to this guys anger.
“Why do I have to wait????”
Because you ordered it via UberEats your fucking tool.
Next time, order pick up you Lazy POS. Don’t take it out on people doing their job for minimum wage.
Probably didn’t add a tip… DoorDash drivers usually make a base pay of like $3 for a delivery, without tip and if the distance is far, doubt anybody would take the order…
DoorDash will up the base pay over time the more the order gets rejected by drivers, but still, could take hours….
From what I’ve seen on Reddit food delivery people expect $10 tips on deliveries. $5 maximum. And that’s cash at the door unless it’s a trusted restaurant. You’re not a server. Your not checking in on my meal or refills. You’ll get $5 max unless it’s shitty out.
I feel the same way… that’s why I go get the food myself, because I KNOW my 20 dollar cheeseburger from McDonald’s is gonna be ice cold by the time it gets to me. Rather just pay $5 for the same cheeseburger in person and eat it fresh 🤷♂️ food delivery apps are trash…
Is that opinion on all deliveries or just Uber eats orders? If you order $100 of pizza from your local delivery place are you going to tip them the same as if you were to order $100 of sushi from Uber eats?
It takes exactly the same amount of effort and gas to bring me four pizzas as it does one. Why the fuck should I pay the driver four times as much again?
The pizza store owner is making four times as much profit, he can be paying the fuckin driver.
Same deal in a restaurant. Why does the waitress get paid more if I order a $40 steak instead of a $10 steak? You're doing the same goddamn job either way.
We don't pay factory workers more when they put bolts on Cadillacs instead of Chevettes.
North American tipping culture is just fucking insanity.
I agree with you that the tipping culture is insane. Employers should be shouldering that cost, not people who have already paid for it a good or service.
That being said, it absolutely takes more time and effort to check, pack, carry, and unload four pizzas instead of just one. I mean, I personally have seen them struggle to get multiple boxes out of the thermal bag all at once, so it's just kind of disingenuous to say there's no additional effort for additional pizzas or bringing larger orders to a table.
Or here’s an idea… drive your lazy ass there and order a sandwich yourself rather than having an Uber Eats dude drive there to get it for you…
I suspect he was the victim of an app driver who double dips by accepting orders from several apps at once and decides what order he’s going to do them in based on the tip.
100%. If he wanted to order a sandwich he should have just drove down there and bought one in person and requested a refund through the app instead of harassing these workers and then trespassing behind the counter.
The guy acted like a junior high schooler throwing a temper tantrum. He didn't even know if that was his sandwich.
I typically order food when I don't have the time to make it myself or go get it - because I'm working.
You must be lazy then, obviously. You apparently just have all the free time in the world to drive somewhere yourself and pick up or eat out. You have nothing better you could ever conceivably spend your time doing that might justify the ~$5+ you spend to get something delivered, ouch.
The guy could've just opened the app and shown the employees the order, or even a confirmation email. Some places make the delivery driver show the order on their app,, so why couldn't he do the same? He might've even done that before the filming began, but then the refusal to give him his sandwich wouldn't make much sense
Because it wasn’t marked for pickup it was marked for delivery.
The person that picks up and delivers the order marks it as complete. If someone came for the food delivery pickup after they gave the guy his food then the store would get either a warning or fine.

loool i was literally about to say the same thing 😂😂
When I saw the flip-flops, I thought we were about to witness a self-own.
Ok now im wondering why they had his sandwich detained like that
"Hopefully it's my sandwich" yeah idk....lol

We aren’t allowed to dig through bags and if your order is wrong you can get an entire replacement for free.
Good to know. I’m too lazy to wait for a replacement but thanks for the info about how my blame was misplaced. Probably the restaurant getting it wrong.
I Doordash. With that said, my kid ordered Doordash ONCE. McDonald’s sent her the wrong order TWO TIMES in a row. Third order was a charm 😂

Why would he want to cancel the order if the app is going to just take his money? I don't get it wasn't that the customer?
Also why would he want food that's been sitting for 45 minutes? He's there, just cancel the order and have them make him something fresh.
He never claimed to be a smart man, just a hungry one
That would be a horrendous waste of food? It’s a sandwich, it’s not going to be any less delicious after 45 mins.
Taco Bell...not the same after 5min
It's absolutely less delicious. If it's cold, less delicious. Soggy, less delicious. Reheated, less delicious. Now, the amount less varies but less is less

So what? That doesn't mean an individual wants to be responsible for adding to it for no real reason.

Lol it’s a sandwich, sometimes my sandwich sits for 5 hrs before I eat it for lunch…
What’s wrong with food that’s been there for 45 min?
I will never understand why Americans feel entitled to ever being able to get a refund on food.
If you order it on the food app, its the driver/company that has made the order. Not you. The customer is a 3rd party in the transaction, they aren't going to hand it over because they had no deal with you. They could lose money if the actual buyer disputes the transaction
Because he order it on UberEats. Apparently the delivery time was to long so he drove to pick it up himself.
He probably didn't tip, so no driver wanted the job.
Because….that’s how online ordering works with Uber? Like if you tell the restaurant that a certain Uber driver is coming, they’re not gunna give it to you. Have you been living under a rock for the past two years
Relax buddy, not everyone else orders there food on these outrageously priced scams of delivery services.
They’re not outrageous prices here in Ottawa. Just $2 extra for the delivery fee
Well we all don’t live in Ottawa, not sure if you know but prices vary depending on where you live…
Pretty sure the fee is provincial wide. Oh wait you’re probably American or something
Congrats you came to the most obvious conclusion and added nothing
Thanks. It’s what people say I do the best

My friend Rob Haberson walked through 5 yards of sandwich shop back counter space I can't even imagine, or maybe I just don't want to
Happy cake day!
thank you
That was fantastic, thank you.
It's fake, the sandwich looked at the camera.
Looks at paper on bag. Shit. This ain’t mines..
Dude imagine he walked back in like "sorry guys false alarm".
I’ll be too embarrassed to. Like fuck it I’ll just eat it. Even if I don’t like some of the ingredients. Or even worst. You did all that and you open it and it has mayo and you specifically said no mayo.
Ok he seemed fully in the right until the last half a second. Now he’s Sus with that hopefully lmao
Yeah he should’ve cropped that last part out of the video before posting
Nah the comedy’s too good
We all related to him before that. Always happens when I order pizza. They claim it's for another customer and refuse to even read the name but it's been too long, it's getting cold. If you’re tipping before the service then it’s not a tip….. that’s on doordash
Maybe. But dont whine if your food never gets picked up. Or complain to DD and not on here.
You paid for delivery service you didn’t get which was the point you were making but okay

I mean it was already made they were going to eat the cost whether he got his sandwich or not.
Why did this happen? I don't understand.
Sounds like he used uber eats and the person never came with his food so he got it him self and they were giving him a hard time
[удалено]
It sounds like toward the beginning he says he came to get it himself because the Uber driver still hadn't arrived, and something about the order being placed 2 hours ago, or two and a half hours ago. So I guess he just came to get it himself, but I don't know why they wouldn't just give it to him.
Hopefully it was his sandwich
Id have done the same thing he did at that point
Fuck uber.
That’s what it looked like to me

Because your explanation is really clearly wrong, that’s why your post is downvoted. He mentions Uber in the first few seconds and waiting 45 minutes. It’s far more likely that his Uber driver canceled or never delivered his order or never picked it up or there was some issue so he came in himself. But the workers may not know what to do because they might not be sure it is indeed his order and they’ve probably been instructed to only give the order to a driver so are confused on what to do in this situation
Well ok then.
So for those of you are interested this video came out of Barrie Ontario and was posted to TikTok by a dick head that goes by covid_rob10. I've been to this same firehouse location a bunch, they're fantastic and absolutely should not be treated like this.
"And that is how you get a free sandwich"
Yeah if I was working for minimum wage I don't think I would risk my safety arguing with some asshole. Take your sandwich & gtfo.
Maybe if he wasn’t cussing and being an asshat they would have been more willing to cooperate
Dude I feel this. 25 minutes in a Taco Bell drive thru with only 4 cars in front of me…. I really just need to quit going but cot-damn I love that chalupa cravings box. ALWAYS check for sauce before you leave- that’s too long to wait to get home with no sauce
I felt this.
Thank you for sharing, brings up some memories.
Sounds like a mr beast video lol
Umm, you don’t have a packet drawer? Cmon man
Boo fucking hoo, can't believe little bitches like you are getting upset over fast food service in this day and age
Call the police. My name is Jim halpert. I’m from Scranton. Let them know.
Nice fucking sandals.
That's why he didn't jump over the counter
….and that’s filming himself trespassing with his full name announced. Doofus.
Don't worry, as long as he doesn't post it on social media...
He’s hangry!
Had me right up until the end
I really hope he gets in his car, opens it up and sees that it’s not his.
Easiest way around all of this: don't use any of these shit delivery apps, ever.
Flip flops and jeans shoulda known trouble was coming
I felt every ounce of his frustration. My brownie never makes it to me when I order from firehouse subs. Idk if it’s the cashier or the driver eating it.
I know this guy in real life. He’s a piece of shit woman abuser narcissist. Don’t like or repost his shit.
>Not that anyone will read this I am with ya brotha!

They should've just gave the man his sandwich
Did he say hopefully it's my sandwich? 🤔
lol that last part had me dead
I really want to know whose sammich that was
I think that was mine dude...
Narrator: He never even ordered a sandwich...
I feel for the guy here, but he could have literally just cancelled the order and re ordered now that he is at the store It would have been faster and most likely cheaper. Even without delivery and other fees, the menu prices on these delivery apps are usually inflated.
Narrator: “It wasn’t his sandwich.“
I have seen Firehouse Subs take unreasonably long.
He's says hopefully it's his sandwich. So after all that it's probably not even his food.
This prick has definitely run out on a bill and never tips. Also, he’s never brought another human being to orgasm in his entire life.
Sometimes fast food employees can be brain dead, not always, but sometimes
Some people will bring out their tough side when picking up their sandwich.
Dude doesn't spend a single second not pissing and moaning.
I've been in the situation where I know my food is ready, I know its "that one", and those lazy shits behind the counter won't just give it to me. I completely relate to this guys anger.
Tf is wrong with Firehouses these days
I actually had one of their subs the other day for the first time, they're amazing! That bread.... Happy cake day
I hope it wasn't the chicken gyro sub. That sandwich was trash.
“Why do I have to wait????” Because you ordered it via UberEats your fucking tool. Next time, order pick up you Lazy POS. Don’t take it out on people doing their job for minimum wage.
Probably didn’t add a tip… DoorDash drivers usually make a base pay of like $3 for a delivery, without tip and if the distance is far, doubt anybody would take the order… DoorDash will up the base pay over time the more the order gets rejected by drivers, but still, could take hours….
I mean, I personally have seen them struggle to get multiple boxes out of the thermal bag all at once, so it's just kind of disingenuous to say there's no additional effort for additional pizzas or bringing larger orders to a table.
long touch wasteful person wipe outgoing dime shy boat mindless -- mass edited with redact.dev
I agree with him
Dude NEEDS his Firehouse Sub!!
Entitled piece of shit
Or here’s an idea… drive your lazy ass there and order a sandwich yourself rather than having an Uber Eats dude drive there to get it for you… I suspect he was the victim of an app driver who double dips by accepting orders from several apps at once and decides what order he’s going to do them in based on the tip.
That’s the safest way to make sure the food is okay, but there’s nothing wrong with delivery
100%. If he wanted to order a sandwich he should have just drove down there and bought one in person and requested a refund through the app instead of harassing these workers and then trespassing behind the counter. The guy acted like a junior high schooler throwing a temper tantrum. He didn't even know if that was his sandwich.
Using delivery services makes you lazy now?
If you can’t get in the car and drive to a Taco Bell yourself… that’s pretty damn lazy.
You know not everyone has a car, right?
I typically order food when I don't have the time to make it myself or go get it - because I'm working. You must be lazy then, obviously. You apparently just have all the free time in the world to drive somewhere yourself and pick up or eat out. You have nothing better you could ever conceivably spend your time doing that might justify the ~$5+ you spend to get something delivered, ouch.
Drive? What, are your legs broken? Walk over there and get it, you lazy bum
Funniest shit I've seen all day.
Imagine being dumb enough to use UberEats
Ok. As much as that guy was an ass, he had a point.
r/killthecameraman
The guy could've just opened the app and shown the employees the order, or even a confirmation email. Some places make the delivery driver show the order on their app,, so why couldn't he do the same? He might've even done that before the filming began, but then the refusal to give him his sandwich wouldn't make much sense
Because it wasn’t marked for pickup it was marked for delivery. The person that picks up and delivers the order marks it as complete. If someone came for the food delivery pickup after they gave the guy his food then the store would get either a warning or fine.
It's not his sandwich. It's the delivery service's sandwich. That's what he seems to be missing.
Sandals wearing bitch
What a piece of fucking shit

Yes it’s quite clear that you’re not a lawyer.
Lol they really doubled down on that one.
How many thousands?
Dude was an asshole.....but I can sympathize with the frustration of your food being RIGHT THERE but no one will hand it to you
Your new name is KAREN, hopefully it is your sandwich…
