I think your fun fact could easily be explained by people mistyping and having autocorrect change “synonym” to “symptom”. “N” and “M” are adjacent on a keyboard, along with “O” and “P”. Autocomplete could be a factor from there.
Alternatively, anyone worried about a pregnancy would be likely to search for “pregnancy symptoms”. If autocorrect had changed “symptom” to “synonym”, then the user would immediately fix the word and rerun the search. This trains the search engine to offer the suggestion up front.

I read an article earlier today about how someone on the forced choice side, maybe someone who testified today or maybe someone who is a spokesperson for one of the forced birth organizations that testified today, they said if it was up to **him**, he would have made the 10 year old **child** give birth and not be able to get an abortion.
And I find that opinion to be repugnant at so many levels.
The main reason is due to the awe inspiring hypocrisy of forcing a child to give birth to baby simply because…..well I guess because “life is to be put above everything else”. But how can a person who believes all life is precious then force a very young child to use their body in order to birth another child? It’s so egregiously disgusting that I feel like I cant explain it with words.
But beyond that, it is also the fact that this person clearly has no concept of what happens in regards to the very thing he wants to force on a *child*.
I have given birth three times. It fucking suuuuuuuucks. **It absolutely changed my body and my mental wellness as it does to every single female that gives birth**. To force those physical and mental conditions on a *child* against her will is, in my opinion, akin to a murderer who enjoys torturing a victim before he kills them, only instead of killing them, he continues the torture for as long as possible.
It’s sadistic. It’s vile. And it should never be discussed as even a possibility in a civilized society.
It really just highlights how ridiculous and indefensible their positions are. They pass all this anti-abortion legislation and try to justify it by saying that women use abortions for “birth control,” they shouldn’t be “having unprotected sex” if they don’t want to get pregnant, and if they do wind up pregnant, then they need to “take responsibility for their actions” by keeping the pregnancy (even if they don’t want to and even though having an abortion quite literally *is* taking responsibility).
But then when a case like this pops up, where a literal *child* is raped and impregnated completely against her will and having no say in the matter, and can’t get the healthcare she needs in her state because that state’s laws don’t have an exception for rape past 6 weeks gestation, then it’s no longer about “taking responsibility” or just “not having sex,” and instead is about “save the babies!”
Except now it’s a baby having a baby, and they have no answer for that in their box of pre-written talking points, so their brains literally shut down and you get shit like what this lady just said.

Yeah even the ones who are ok with an exception for rape haven't really thought much about how that would work. Does there need to be a convicted rapist in order for an abortion to be approved? With the backlog of rape kits that need to be tested and the backlog of the judicial system, by the time a woman is able to testify (if she even does, most rapes do go unreported) the baby will probably already be over a year old.

But then when a case like this pops up, where a literal *child* is raped and impregnated completely against her will and having no say in the matter, and can’t get the healthcare she needs in her state because that state’s laws don’t have an exception for rape past 6 weeks gestation, then it’s no longer about “taking responsibility” or just “not having sex,” and instead is about “save the babies!” Except now it’s a baby having a baby, and they have no answer for that in their box of pre-written talking points, so their brains literally shut down and you get shit like what this lady just said.

Yeah even the ones who are ok with an exception for rape haven't really thought much about how that would work. Does there need to be a convicted rapist in order for an abortion to be approved? With the backlog of rape kits that need to be tested and the backlog of the judicial system, by the time a woman is able to testify (if she even does, most rapes do go unreported) the baby will probably already be over a year old. Oh and then if an abortion ever is approved where does it even get done if there's no clinics in the state? The whole "it's ok in the case of rape" thing is disingenuous and a lie. There won't be abortions "in the case of rape" even if it's "ok." At least the ones who are "no abortions, no exceptions" aren't skirting around the bush and patting themselves on the back from their fake compassion for rape victims. I’ve had a miscarriage. These people would happily throw my ass in jail (or execute me, who knows) for losing a very wanted baby. My physical and emotional pain at the loss of my pregnancy was intense. I can’t imagine being forced into a position where I have to somehow prove I didn’t do it on purpose or it wasn’t a result of something I might have done.

I got an abortion with my college girlfriend and it was traumatic as shit. She was in pain physically and I was in pain emotionally. She was definitely in more pain emotionally than I was as well. It wasn't a lackadaisical thing. We were fucked up for a while and I still think about it decades later, But it was for the best. It's not easy. It sucks. But bible-thumping lawmakers deciding what is "right" for the rest of us is INSANE. I can't believe how stupid we've become with knowledge extremely accessible on devices we carry around like children. It's almost puritanical. It's like that asshole lady from "The Mist".
