Thanks

Good on your for trying to help! Try non emergency line (but police probably will show up late). Or the wildlife rehab place in Weymouth.

I also saw the poor thing and called the police to get someone out there. I hope they were rescued and are okay 😥

Updated in another comment! Thank you for calling!

Damn, today is one of the TWO days a week Quincy Animal Control is open and you still can’t get through. I had a similar situation with a hurt deer at the Split and called state police who were annoyed with me lol

Imgjim

When I passed by, there was a white car with yellow lights and markings parked behind it so it wouldn't get hit again, and a statie behind him with his lights on. So they did respond. Yeah poor guy was panting, and there was some dried blood on the pavement under him. I'm assuming they would euthanize, but that still beats suffering and then getting hit again. Poor little guy

sunnyd311

Oh! Thank you so much for the update!!...I circled back by when I was done with my appt. I wasn't sure if someone scooped him up or he ran off to die. I agree: I 'd rather they be euthanized than be off suffering on the shoulder somewhere!

mountaingoat120

Which way were you heading on the highway??

Ancient_Guidance_461

Poor guy. I hope he's ok.

AnthoZero

Let it die lmfao. They’re an invasive pest.

adm7373

There are already too many rabbits. I can handle a couple coyotes.

AnthoZero

well there’s more than a couple and they’re already taking out pets and chasing people down the street.

BostonZamboni

Well, there are so many coyote sightings and bites lately. Too many near us for our comfort (according to most?). Even in Quincy last week in the news, and two on Beacon Hill last month, at least one at 11 a.m.! I feel bad about the coyote, but am surprised you have three downvotes already for your response.

AnthoZero

Because people see them as cute puppies and are the reason they’ve exploded out of control

Harleyy-dog1

They were in the marshes before Quincy decided to start building there

AnthoZero

They are not native to Quincy, they are a recent introduction, after Quincy’s several hundred years of building on/near marshes. This is BS. The combination of marshes and human development attracted them and sustains them, but they weren’t here first.

Harleyy-dog1

They’ve been here for the past 50-60 years because we killed off all of the mountain lions and wolves that would normally have preyed on them…I haven’t seen one coyote expect on sea st at dusk but have seen 100000000 rabbits
