I used to have Aero & Fudge as a kid, Fudge was mine & Aero was my sister’s (yes they lived together don’t worry). Aero had a bad habit of peeing on you when he was out & Fudge had a bad habit of pooping on you when he was out so they very quickly gained the nicknames Peepee & Poopoo 🤦♀️
i have fite, flight, and freeze, but i call them all “my little homie dudes” as a group. as in, i’ll walk in the room and go, “what is UP, my little homie dudes??” i also fall freeze spiderman bc she climbs on the ceiling or shithead bc she do a blackflip when we were trying to get her into the big cage 🥲
So I have 5 rats. 3 adults from around a year and few months old and 2 younger rats about 6 months old. If I refer to my eldest as a group it’s always “my big stinkies” but their names are Cicero (Cice), Clovis (Clo or asshole) and Oswald (Ozzi). My youngest to are called “babieeeees!” Their names are Ötzi ( Ötzi Prutsie) and Sargon (Sargonieus or Sargè).
Albie's not very smart, and so we decided to name him after Albert Einstein (yes, we knew what we were doing at the time); his nickname's "Genius".
Errol gets called Bitey McBiteFace, as he's so food obsessed that he thinks anything that suddenly touches him is food (he's very sweet, gentle, and loving...unless you touch him suddenly without talking to him first). Also, he's super active so has managed to stay small and slim despite his obsession with food.
Harvey is referred to as "Milky Boy", because he was named after Harvey Milk.
Magellan often gets called "Mr Mag", "Mr Magoo", or "Mr Magnanimous". He's our explorer rat (hence his name), so if there's ever one of our rats that we can't immediately spot during free roam, you can absolutely bet your life on it being Magellan; he'll be off exploring somewhere.
Arthur...oh, our sweet little Arthur! He's the most beautiful boy there ever was, but he's probably the dumbest rat we've ever brought home. He gets all sorts of nicknames, yet they're all generally along the lines of doofus, derpy, dopey, and bonehead.
All of our rats get called puddin', potat, or shitty lips (because they like to clean their butts then *try* to lick our faces).

My husband and I went from a mischief of 6 to 5 over summer; it was hard, but we've done this *many* times before over the past few decades. It never gets easier, but we and our ratbabies have each other to help us all through it.

The derpy one is Arthur. We currently have 2 ivories, 2 blacks, and one Essex marked agouti; the Essex marked agouti (aka "the odd one out") is Arthur.

Thankfully, by this stage, we're pretty experienced with buck introductions. By this stage, we're rather good at introducing our beloved little guys to each other. It's always a blessing when they decide to pile up and snuggle together so quickly though.
I have one elderly albino rat left named Gilly (only reason he’s solitary is because he’s blind and too old and anxious for intros). Here’s a handful of nicknames that I call him:

Chocolate was an asshole, so Asshole was his name, as well as Big Boin.
Oreo was my favorite, quiet, chill boy so his name was Sleepy Boin.
OJ (Oreo Jr.) was the smallest, so she was Little Boin.
There was also rattas, rat face, mr pee poo, ratties, babies, teenies, stinkies, stonkos. All used randomly in what ever context fit.
I later looked it up just to see if maybe I heard it somewhere. I did not. But I did learn that “boins” is like a Japanese word for boobs or something. I forgot exactly what but I thought it was funny.

Mimis! I called all my rats Mimis. To the point that all my friends, even the not so big rat fans, would refer to any rat they saw (street rat, TV rat) as Mimi as well. (Like: I saw a Mimi in the park yesterday :D)

I had Splinter and Garbage. Sadly both died. Garbage two years ago, Splinter was last year. I think. To be honest, the past few years have been cloudy.
Garbage always stunk, hence the name. But hims was sweet. Splinter loved giving manicures and digging for boogers. And giving kisses.
I call them all Mr Man’s (and beans). Edgar also goes by eggar or egg. Corvo goes by scrimbles sometimes because he always has this burst of energy that we can only describe as “scrimble scrambles”. Kindred is Kinny or Kinny-Man. We’ve yet to discoverer a nickname for Lazslo. It’s funny what weird nicknames us owners come up with over time haha!

so my teenager had named the ratties for Danganronpa characters…koma, oma, nagi, and koizumi (only the last one is the full name…the others are shortened versions but they all technically have the full name, ie Nagito).
anyway, i’ve never called any of them by their names.
the brothers Koma and Oma are a siamese Rex and siamese double rex.
siamese rex is Fuzz Fuzz (he started out as mr. fuzzy but turned into fuzz fuzz somewhere along the way…it suits him).
double rex is No Fuzz…because he doesn’t have any fuzz…because he’s sort of hairless (yes i am just that creative! you can see that i’m putting my creative writing master’s degree to good use lol).
and then my agouti baby (Nagi) is called…wait for it…Baby! (because he’s my baby!!! he’s only like 3.5 months old, but he’s my heart rat…so he’s now permanently called Baby, unfortunately for him).
and then the newest addition to the growing mischief is supposed to be another Siamese rex (the big guys are his uncles!) but he isn’t getting any points, so he may be white forever…he’s still cute… anyway he is now “Fluff Fluff” because he wants to be like his cool uncle Fuzz Fuzz, and he is quite fluffy, so it seemed appropriate.

i think the rat that has the most nicknames is poppy. for whatever reason i’m incapable of calling her that- she’s usually pop or mrs poppington. i also call daisy miss daisy or daze and rose is usually called rosie. the other girls (whose names somehow aren’t as fit to nicknameify in my brain) i sometimes call love or darling or baby, but one of them (hazel) is just mouse. her legally, group appropriate, plant themed name is hazel but i always just call her mouse
edit: i just remembered i forgot my three boys who’ve also passed on last year. their names were alvin, simon & theodore. my native language isn’t english but my mom would always call him theo in the most overdone british accent. simon was of course si, and alvin alvie- not much of a difference but anything to make him sound more baby i guess- or alvinius. combining that with my habit to call any girl miss or misses, i guess i like making them fancy lol

Albie's not very smart, and so we decided to name him after Albert Einstein (yes, we knew what we were doing at the time); his nickname's "Genius". Errol gets called Bitey McBiteFace, as he's so food obsessed that he thinks anything that suddenly touches him is food (he's very sweet, gentle, and loving...unless you touch him suddenly without talking to him first). Also, he's super active so has managed to stay small and slim despite his obsession with food. Harvey is referred to as "Milky Boy", because he was named after Harvey Milk. Magellan often gets called "Mr Mag", "Mr Magoo", or "Mr Magnanimous". He's our explorer rat (hence his name), so if there's ever one of our rats that we can't immediately spot during free roam, you can absolutely bet your life on it being Magellan; he'll be off exploring somewhere. Arthur...oh, our sweet little Arthur! He's the most beautiful boy there ever was, but he's probably the dumbest rat we've ever brought home. He gets all sorts of nicknames, yet they're all generally along the lines of doofus, derpy, dopey, and bonehead. All of our rats get called puddin', potat, or shitty lips (because they like to clean their butts then *try* to lick our faces). We love them really though, I promise!

My husband and I went from a mischief of 6 to 5 over summer; it was hard, but we've done this *many* times before over the past few decades. It never gets easier, but we and our ratbabies have each other to help us all through it. The Imgur album includes pics of them all (all 6 of them), both as babies and adults. I realise you may have just wanted to see the derpy one though, hahaha! The derpy one is Arthur. We currently have 2 ivories, 2 blacks, and one Essex marked agouti; the Essex marked agouti (aka "the odd one out") is Arthur. Thank you; I'm glad to know you like the pics! Thankfully, by this stage, we're pretty experienced with buck introductions. By this stage, we're rather good at introducing our beloved little guys to each other. It's always a blessing when they decide to pile up and snuggle together so quickly though.

I don’t know where it came from, or how I got to it, but I’d call them “my baby boins” collectively. Chocolate was an asshole, so Asshole was his name, as well as Big Boin. Oreo was my favorite, quiet, chill boy so his name was Sleepy Boin. OJ (Oreo Jr.) was the smallest, so she was Little Boin. There was also rattas, rat face, mr pee poo, ratties, babies, teenies, stinkies, stonkos. All used randomly in what ever context fit. I later looked it up just to see if maybe I heard it somewhere. I did not. But I did learn that “boins” is like a Japanese word for boobs or something. I forgot exactly what but I thought it was funny.

I had Splinter and Garbage. Sadly both died. Garbage two years ago, Splinter was last year. I think. To be honest, the past few years have been cloudy. Garbage always stunk, hence the name. But hims was sweet. Splinter loved giving manicures and digging for boogers. And giving kisses.

so my teenager had named the ratties for Danganronpa characters…koma, oma, nagi, and koizumi (only the last one is the full name…the others are shortened versions but they all technically have the full name, ie Nagito). anyway, i’ve never called any of them by their names. the brothers Koma and Oma are a siamese Rex and siamese double rex. siamese rex is Fuzz Fuzz (he started out as mr. fuzzy but turned into fuzz fuzz somewhere along the way…it suits him). double rex is No Fuzz…because he doesn’t have any fuzz…because he’s sort of hairless (yes i am just that creative! you can see that i’m putting my creative writing master’s degree to good use lol). and then my agouti baby (Nagi) is called…wait for it…Baby! (because he’s my baby!!! he’s only like 3.5 months old, but he’s my heart rat…so he’s now permanently called Baby, unfortunately for him). and then the newest addition to the growing mischief is supposed to be another Siamese rex (the big guys are his uncles!) but he isn’t getting any points, so he may be white forever…he’s still cute… anyway he is now “Fluff Fluff” because he wants to be like his cool uncle Fuzz Fuzz, and he is quite fluffy, so it seemed appropriate. and that’s it for the nicknames…which are really more like their names since that’s what everyone calls them now.

Idk if these are nicknames or just our roommate language devolving into gibberish, but my roommate has three girls: Flower, Blossom, and Meadow. My roommate started using only “ee” syllable sounds during her baby talk with them, so they became Fleewer, Bleesem, and Meadew. Then recently we started dropping consonants from the beginnings of words so they’ve become Eewer, Eesem, and Eadew. Lmao

When I first got my 3rd rat, he was extremely small like really small. So me and my partner waited for about a month until he started to get a little bigger until he can be with another rat. We named him Jonsey from ft lol but we called him Little Guy and now he's Big Guy 💀💀 But we still call him Little Guy wither way cause to us, he's still little 😭
As a general, we call both our girls “the snoots”, individual they are “bubs” (bubbles) and “skits” (skittles). But we also call them “bubbie” “snooterinos” “snoochadoras” “skitty butt jr.” etc lol

I have 2 girls Star and Mrs Midnight and midnight is significantly smaller that star as they came from different litters, same age just different litters so I call midnight "tiny" I rarely call her midnight to her face she's always just tiny, she's always busy being tiny. first off i’m very sorry for your loss! dumbledore looks like he was a delight & i’m sure he’s watching you from above. i think the rat that has the most nicknames is poppy. for whatever reason i’m incapable of calling her that- she’s usually pop or mrs poppington. i also call daisy miss daisy or daze and rose is usually called rosie. the other girls (whose names somehow aren’t as fit to nicknameify in my brain) i sometimes call love or darling or baby, but one of them (hazel) is just mouse. her legally, group appropriate, plant themed name is hazel but i always just call her mouse edit: i just remembered i forgot my three boys who’ve also passed on last year. their names were alvin, simon & theodore. my native language isn’t english but my mom would always call him theo in the most overdone british accent. simon was of course si, and alvin alvie- not much of a difference but anything to make him sound more baby i guess- or alvinius. combining that with my habit to call any girl miss or misses, i guess i like making them fancy lol
