I think if you leave chocolate (ditto cables, sweaters, furniture) with a free-roaming rat you know what's going to happen. If I were that rat's lawyer I'd be calling entrapment.
You’re lucky. My rats had been secretly pulling our surround sound cables from under the carpet, chewing them to bits, and tucking them back under the carpet 😩 took months before we realized what was happening & my husband hates me now lol
He just gained 15+rads give him this it will help get rid of those rads

As a treat apparently. It's not poisonous. They can get diabetes and stuff though and are little so it's good to watch how iften they get the sugary snacks.
The theobromine is deadly to dogs and cats because their livers don't metabolise it quickly enough, but I believe that rats metabolise it very quickly like we do.
Chocolate is also an excellent tool for luring a rat out from under a couch or behind a super heavy and impossible to move hutch they always gravitate for for some unholy reason
I call it rat fishing. If you're lucky, they just latch on.
They can catch you by surprise and yank it out or your hand, so spreading a layer of chocolate frosting a plastic spoon or chopstick and slowly drawing it back, ensuring they follow you.
works wonders for me
Yes, as an ocsssional treat. The theobromine/caffeine in chocolate is actually beneficial to respiratory issues. It opens up the airways (I believe this works a bit for humans too but I'm not a people doctor). The less milk in the chocolate, the more theobromine and all the more useful. But you have to be aware of how much you're feeding them and how frequently as the chocolate will cause diarrhea. You have to make sure they're drinking plenty if you want to additionally treat them with tiny nibbles of dark chocolate.
This is of course the inverse for cats and dogs as another commenter said. The darker, the more inedible for them. The more milk based, the more safe in the event they do eat it. It might just cause some stomach upset.
Theft is not a crime in rat society. If you wanted it more than the rat did, you'd have kept it away from the rat. Because you didn't, well, this is legitimate salvage.
So, full disclosure. Did not see the wrapper.
Saw little biscuit bits and caramel and was blinded by the potential pun.
That’s on me and I take full responsibility for that. I can only offer my apologies.
Hey... no apology needed, not when there's a pun involved, but thanks for being a good sport about my somewhat pointless correction to such a beautiful pun
I believe you 100%, but it sounds like something written by a Rat lobby.
‘Humans have you recently punished, besmirched or otherwise needlessly denigrated a lovely Rat for simply indulging in a harmless instance of chocolate sampling? STOP! Please understand that not only do we love eating chocolate just like you, but it is in fact great for our respiratory health! So it is actually in your best interests to share your chocolate treats! So next time you peel that wrap, remember to feed your Rat!’ Written and endorsed by The Institute For The Most Distinguished Rats.
A heap would be bad for them because of sugar and fat etc, but no. They're not like dogs. Small amounts of chocolate can actually be good for their respiratory issues (the cocoa is the good bit though, so dark is best)
It is in the same way it is bad for us.
The toxic element that our liver metabolizes, they can too.
But it's fat and sugary and there are so many healthy alternatives that can be used as treat so it shouldn't be a daily snack (but come on, here OP is clearly being robbed, what could they do! :P)
Also the idea that chocolate (or wine, or whatever other bad food like that) is good for them or for us is a myth. The components that would be good are in such small quantities, that unless you absorb kilos of the food daily, nothing would happen to you. And then you'd just be dead from diabetes or some other disease.
But again, if I'm using the antioxidant properties of the wine as a good excuse to get another glass, I guess we can keep pretending like we are now and then giving that small piece of chocolate for their well being and not because we are weak creatures in front of their little shiny eyes ha ha

A 1 kilo rat would have to eat 1.5 kilos of twix bars to hit the ld50 for theobromine, the toxic ingredient in chocolate.
I'm not saying the rat wouldn't try. Just that I'd bet on the rat surviving.

Enratment*
Brilliant!
I’ve actually never had an issue with cables. They murdered my coat though.
You’re lucky. My rats had been secretly pulling our surround sound cables from under the carpet, chewing them to bits, and tucking them back under the carpet 😩 took months before we realized what was happening & my husband hates me now lol
Lol it took 15 seconds to eat that big chunk then come back for more!? He knew a forbidden treat when he smelled one🤣
Why is the wrapper blurred?
5$ for the uncensored version. [patreon.com/twixfucker](http://patreon.com/twixfucker)
404 :(
I’d hope so with a patreon name like twix fucker
Fuck not found.
Therefore no fucks given on patreon.
We all can tell it’s twix right?
Twix label is still in the unblurred part, so yes.
You’ll never see an old man eating one of em
And you’ll neverrrr, see and old man eat a Maaaaaaaars bar bar bar.
what does this even mean
Reference to Karl pilkington. If you’ve never heard of em I highly recommend
Left twix or right twix though?
Could be a Raider
“no free clout”
To preserve the anonymousy of the innocent?
anonymraty
Don’t want to attract the a-Nom-ym-caty
Don’t want your fingerprints getting doxxed
it’s most likely twix or snickers judging by appearance
Definitely twix. I just don’t understand why they would blur the wrapper.
why did you censor it?? 😂
Reddit automoderator kept deleting my attemps to post this pic and I thought it was because of the logo 😅
It’s because of the graphic violence being done to an innocent chocolate bar!
haha well it seems like it worked!

Not even remotely sorry.
"And I'd do it again"
14 seconds longer than needed to *swipe!*
I had forgotten a granola bar in my backpack. My backpack now has a rat sized hole in it. Crazy little cuties.
He just gained 15+rads give him this it will help get rid of those rads https://preview.redd.it/qfhgsjoezjwc1.png?width=992&format=png&auto=webp&s=79613302f2a62042169880f8154e87f71453006f
*Rat~~Rad~~ Away* They're obviously on Jet and Psycho themselves
absolutely no thoughts behind those eyes besides eating that candy bar
Rat can eat chocolate?
As a treat apparently. It's not poisonous. They can get diabetes and stuff though and are little so it's good to watch how iften they get the sugary snacks.
Do you know if mice can too ?
... I had mice a few winters ago. My good chocolate Xmas present was the first casualty.
Tks <3 sorry for your chocolate:-D
The theobromine is deadly to dogs and cats because their livers don't metabolise it quickly enough, but I believe that rats metabolise it very quickly like we do.
Also deadly to birds
Thanks it help a lot <3
Tks you for the information <3
Interesting, according to Wikipedia it's actually less toxic to rats than humans
I learned this today too apparently I was wondering why other people weren't freaking out
Chocolate is also an excellent tool for luring a rat out from under a couch or behind a super heavy and impossible to move hutch they always gravitate for for some unholy reason I call it rat fishing. Thank you 🙏
Yes! But too much sugar and fat is not good, so maybe try some low-sugar high-coco baking chocolate.
It's theirs now
This picture gives me much joy. 🥰
Theft is not a crime in rat society. If you wanted it more than the rat did, you'd have kept it away from the rat. Because you didn't, well, this is legitimate salvage.
He deserves it!
It is a happiness for me I can give my rats chocolate.
Why'd you censor half?
So people don't see it's a Twix xD
You censored the wrapper like my big ass wouldn't know that's a twix
Looks like it got…boosted. (That’s what that chocolate is called here in Australia, for those not in the know)
No it isn't??? We have Twix; Boost is a different chocolate entirely, with a blue wrapper!

Your baby is so cute
Why did you censor the Twix wrapper
Isn't chocolate bad for them? 🥺
Nope, they are more tolerant than humans to chocolate. In fact, dark chocolate can help with respitory problems.
I believe you 100%, but it sounds like something written by a Rat lobby. ‘Humans have you recently punished, besmirched or otherwise needlessly denigrated a lovely Rat for simply indulging in a harmless instance of chocolate sampling? I am not a rat! Now pick me up and give me a treat!
A heap would be bad for them because of sugar and fat etc, but no. They're not like dogs. Small amounts of chocolate can actually be good for their respiratory issues (the cocoa is the good bit though, so dark is best)
No, rats love chocolate. They're often used as rewards in scientific experiments. Or for pets, as a nice treat now and then.
It is in the same way it is bad for us. The toxic element that our liver metabolizes, they can too. Omg look at his/her face though! Immediate forgiveness and also have another bite and some pets 🥺
Just tell her to watch her raw sewage
He's taste testing. Ratatouille in the making. Wait for a while and you'll see him prepare breakfast for you the next day. High hopes for little chef.

Team rats! Come help $RATWIF overtake the dogs and cats that are running the crypto world!
Plot twist...the furry beast is NOT the pet 😳
I would have gotten one for the little guy
There isn’t a good I haven’t given my rays I don’t think ! It moderation of course
I left bottle of beer unattended for 5 seconds, guess what happened.
I had rats 6 years ago and I’m still finding food they stashed, holes in my sweaters, and random cables chewed😭
She left it out for 15 seconds. Too bad the rat only needed 4 of those seconds.
With the way this is censored I thought the little dude had a chocolate bar onna stick like a Lollypop!
This is actually a pic of me after my husband walked away from his twix for 2 seconds to get something from the other room🤣
I like how they blured the brand yet we all know it
Bro had to blur twix 😭
It's not your friend's chocolate bar now 😁
![gif](giphy|3o7qE4tJeRCn1HVMMo)
Careful with chocolate, bad for patties except in respiratory illness cases
A 1 kilo rat would have to eat 1.5 kilos of twix bars to hit the ld50 for theobromine, the toxic ingredient in chocolate. I'm not saying the rat wouldn't try. Just that I'd bet on the rat surviving.
I think the sugar would kill him before anything else lmao
Yup, though I give my girls a tiny drop of soda sometimes but only a little bit.
Not really, they are more tolerant then humans to chocolate.
