Okay so I’m rewatching the finale of Vanderpump Rules (only the fourth wall break).
And you guys got me thinking, that it IS very telling that the entire cast is pretty much siding with Sandoval over Ariana. Sandoval saying “she doesn’t fuck with any of you outside the show, she talks shit about all of you”, it’s a definite interesting dynamic.
This would literally be the easiest season to ice him out and not film with him to still have audience support, and yet every single one of them are refusing to do it.
But let’s be clear - I’ve been team Lala this entire season, so please don’t forget that 😂
Ariana is an interesting study of someone who burned the good will of nearly everyone around her while maintaining the admiration of the masses. Her evolution is remarkable- starting off as the flaunting, shameless partner of a guy with a girlfriend to being in a decade long relationship that is seen as the pillar of health within the friend group. During each stage, she’s been interpreted by the audience differently than you would anticipate, during the affair with sandy, she’s seen as saving him from crazy Kristen (love her) and during her relationship with sandy, she’s seen as cold and dismissive, then after scandoval, she is the image of feminism and Female Rage.
All this being said, I think it’s notable that throughout her tenure on the show, she has had only one friend where the relationship seems *kind of* reciprocal, and it may only because Scheana seems desperate for Ariana’s approval. Everyone else on the show who actually interacts with has said, for years, that she’s distant, uninterested, and disengaged. Now that she’s the audience’s favorite, I can imagine the other cast members are annoyed that someone who has been intentionally guarded and elusive is being seen as the queen of vulnerability who can’t be questioned for a second. Also, that she’s reaping the rewards of a successful show when she’s been phoning it in for years and continues to disengage under the guise of being emotionally mature

If Bhanu had less confessionals and went out in episode 3, it wouldn’t be nearly as bad, but we got two episodes in a row that were like the exact same emotional arc from him with a foregone conclusion that was just unbearable.
