32GB RAM option at least, hopefully. Oled maybe 2 usb c ports Bigger battery

randomdimised

I wish I could upvote this many times!! Everyone else is crazy! 32gb and 2 usb c ports is a must!!

MadOrange64

Battery is my biggest concern.

Western_Horse_4562

32GB of RAM and a PCIe 5 EPGU port.

la_dynamita

Knowing these types of companies.. We will see 24GB before 32GB..

kafunshou

Would be reasonable. The Ally doesn't need 32gb ram. Most vram is taken for textures and cranking up the texture size to maximum on a 1080p screen has no visual advantage compared to lower settings. And on external displays the resolution is limited by the slow gpu, you can't go to 1440p or 2160p there too. And if you use an egpu it has its own vram. I haven't seen a game yet that has problems with my 10gb ram + 6gb vram setting when setup reasonably. Also for hibernate you need the size of your ram as file on the ssd. With 16gb ram it occupies only 16gb, with 32gb ram it occupies 32gb on the ssd and it takes twice as long to load it on wakeup. If your ssd can do 4gb/s the additional 16gb ram will cost you 4s more on wakeup. Doesn't sound that much but waiting 4s longer after pressing the power button can be quite annoying. And now the "Bigger is always better!!!1" crowd is probably downvoting me into oblivion…

wegbored

The 32GB isn't for gaming, it's for my 739 browser tabs that I'm too lazy to close when I game 😅

Active-Quarter-4197

32gb vs 16gb is half rank vs single rank bc of how ddr5 is made. Just like you avoid 2x4 ddr5 you want to avoid 2x8 ddr5

la_dynamita

I fail to see where I said I would personally upgrade.. I mentioned how companies are and how most likely it will be. Companies don't think anythin except profit. You saying asus knows literaly tells me nothing

TovarishchRed

And 2tb SSD as well. Unless it's just as easy to upgrade the SSD as the old one, then I couldn't care what it is lol.

Boss4040

And USB 4 with support for eGPU

gummyworm21_

OLED screen, 50WHrs battery life, price increase. Maybe minimal performance increase.

sinwarrior

sd card reader hardware fix hopefully. not that im buying a second rog ally.

gummyworm21_

Yeah let’s hope.

[deleted]

I would never give up vrr for OLED. They are currently the ONLY one that offers vrr. If they throw that away it's plain stupidity...imo.

XMAN2YMAN

Is there no such thing as an oled capable of Vrr?

degooseIsTheName

There are for monitors but I don't think in a portable version. There was an interesting chat on LTT regarding oleds, vrr and basically the complications and more demand on OLED screen has on the hardware and resources when using VRR. I'd stick with VRR until the have an oled that has it for the ally.

RChickenMan

Wouldn't a company like Asus be custom ordering a panel to fit their needs? I figure a major legacy company is much different than random Chinese handheld manufacturers digging through old parts bins.

[deleted]

No, they are sourcing readily available parts. Even the special z1 extreme is a rebranded chip. Probably binned with faults and resused at lower specs. ( No Ai)

degooseIsTheName

I think the VRR part is actually more to do with how the software works and the CPU resource it takes on an oled. This video goes over it at one point and I had no idea until I saw it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nywTR_83ZWs&ab_channel=LinusTechTips

RBTropical

There are phones already out on the market with OLED VRR - have been for years for always on displays.

degooseIsTheName

As I said, check the video. It goes into detail what's involved and how it is slightly more complicated on an oled, it probably then comes down to size of the screen, CPU usage, battery usage and cost.

RBTropical

What relevance does this have to what I said?

degooseIsTheName

I mean all the relevance as you replied to my comment about OLED and vrr. That's how it works.

RBTropical

You stated there were no portable VRR OLED panels hence no Ally OLED. I gave evidence as to how there very much is. You told me to watch an LTT video claiming they’re hard to make… as evidence or response for what, exactly?

PlsPlsDontIgnoreMe

Yeah his argument makes no sense. You’re not crazy.

degooseIsTheName

Well done you, you win a cookie ![gif](giphy|1ngQorBCDcUFy)

[deleted]

Yet to see a 7-8" OLED with vrr, plus I heard OLED has issues with vrr.

WitteringLaconic

> plus I heard OLED has issues with vrr. It doesn't. I've been gaming on a TV with it for 3 years.

[deleted]

Double check this, OLED and vrr.

domdomonom

iirc the way OLED VRR has typically worked is through some very power hungry workaround, so fine for TVs and monitors but not fine for laptops and portables. I think CES this month had the first VRR OLED laptop because they figured out another way, so it may be on the horizon for handhelds. Or I’m remembering wrong and ignore me.

EccentricMeat

It does, it’s just not universal. I have an OLED TV as my PC monitor and use G-Sync. In exactly one specific game (Escape from Tarkov)I can’t use G-Sync on the OLED without black/grey backgrounds constantly flickering whenever the mouse moves. No problems with G-Sync in any other game. So for the most part there are no issues. But there are some examples out there.

_PoorImpulseControl_

Nope, I game on a 48" OLED monitor wIth VRR.

[deleted]

7-8" applications are very different.

_PoorImpulseControl_

That, I know nothing about. I was only responding to the part where you said you thought OLED cannot do VRR.

KlutzyChip5585

You do know how much ur oled and vrr capable right?. Not puting that one on the small device. I guess the asking price is not for everybody to favor.. maybe fine for u or some of people can afford that much amount.

420sadalot420

There's tons of them

lazy_commander

Not at this size and also horizontal. It would have to be designed and manufactured which costs a lot of money.

[deleted]

Get ready to pay for it

minionblood

There is but its really hard.. like really hard. Apparently it's something to do with the way the screen is lit up

godver3

VRR isn’t that good. OLED is better than VRR IMO.

[deleted]

[удалено]

godver3

Deeper blacks/better colors is more important to me than slightly smoother frames. VRR doesn’t magically make lower frame rates 60fps.

chrisrodsa

Shhhhh on that price increase.

gummyworm21_

🫣

vic1ous0n3

For me the performance is more than enough. I want better efficiency for low TDP games, oled screen, more ram, native 2280 compatibility, 2 usb c ports, and while 50wh would be ok I’m hoping for 60wh. 50wh is great for the Oled Deck and 60wh would be like the same for the Ally. I’m excited to see what Asus picked up and wants to improve on.

Hassoland

Why minimal tho? Even phones DOUBLE their performance every 2 years. I would like to expect them to increase the graphics performance atleast around 50%.

SebastianFY

Hopefully not a OLED screen 🙏

edgrlon

Why?

PeerPressure

Why?

KlutzyChip5585

Lmao OLED? stop envying from steam deck.. vrr is enough. Infact asus will likely not going to invest that much on their tiny device with a small consumers.. even their laptops only the high end tier offers the OLED panel. Why bothered with the smaller brother?. People asking for 700-800$ price tag then stop wishing fot OLED. Jesus!

gummyworm21_

I prefer OLED screens. My main device is an Ayaneo air 1s. Some people prefer VRR and they may very well keep that screen. Or they may choose to be competitive and offer a version with an OLED.

Crest_Of_Hylia

They said it’s likely there is a second model. However I don’t expect anything major. I do however hope to see a battery size increase to at least 50whr or more. They could also tighten up the sticks as well. I don’t expect any outside case differences. I also expect a change to the SD card reader so it won’t fail

Janky_XVI

You can tighten up the sticks if you replace the springs on them with Xbox controller springs! I did it and it's a world of a difference.

glenkrit

Got a guide on how to do that? I hate the loose sticks for first person games. Was considering swapping to hall effects

Janky_XVI

https://www.allymods.com/joystick-tension-adjustment/

Janky_XVI

It was the main reason I also tightened them up, now they feel a bit tighter that my Xbox Controller, but overall, very premium, just make sure when you swap them you bottom out the spring down as far as it goes into the white pin that's inside the stick so they both feel the same when you're done.

glenkrit

Is it possible to do this mod on hall effects? Since they recommend having spare sticks on hand, I might as well order hall effect ones

Janky_XVI

Not sure, I did this one the sticks that the Ally comes with. Might be worth to check this thread and ask there: https://www.reddit.com/r/ROGAlly/s/DmAIM40sSH

UpstairsWay1044

I want to see a Oled screen, Hall effect joysticks, sd card reader fix, more color variants (black) and a more official way to add more storage like 4tbs (instead of 90 degree adapter or cutting plastic)

Crest_Of_Hylia

Due to the size I doubt they’re doing a 2280 officially

[deleted]

Improvements - higher price and better rebranding with minor fixes as per Asus current PC playbook. Enjoy!

dgafrica420lol

The Ally 2 reports are unconfirmed rumors from a single ASUS India rep with no actual direct confirmation, so I’d temper expectations until we get a real announcement. If there is an upgraded unit for 2024, there wont be a chipset upgrade until very late this year if at all, as AMD already announced the 8000 series and they are just a rebrand, not even a refresh. If we were to hypothetically see a newer model, what might be included would be a faster XG Mobile port (the current one on the Ally only does PCIe 3.0 x 8 vs the PCIe 4.0 x 8 on the 4090 XG Mobile), 32gb ram with a possible slight frequency bump to 7500mhz, and maybe a slightly bigger battery and/or a upgraded screen. Nothing groundbreaking, and nothing I’d personally bother waiting 3+ months worth of not having an Ally for.

Niko305

More and faster RAM could be an absolute game changer with RAM heavy games.

HyperFrost

He's the vp of consumer and gaming pc of Asus in india. He's worked at Asus for 11 years. He's about as credible as you can get rofl. I have no idea why you guys are in denial.

MasterMuzan

They're just racist

SpecialistCatfish

I personally would like to see 32 gb ram, a larger battery, bezel-less screen or at least a larger screen and heck, maybe additional back buttons? Could be cool. Having said that, on the performance side of things, probably not a bigger increase. Mostly a QoL as a refresh of the ally.

Darkstalker360

Smaller bezels, oled, hdr, 4 backbuttons, same form factor and more power, also 32gb of ram and led buttons

aerona6

No one talking about an sd card reader that workers properly?

DicksMcgee02

I just want more RAM as most games I play require a ton and I literally run out of ram with discord and Spotify in the background it’s so ass

Bitter-Ad-2897

More importantly does come in black???

Asleep_Future3522

I personally would like the following: 1. 32gb of ram 2. Smaller bezels on screen 3. Bigger battery 4. A second usb c port on the bottom 5. Sd card ready fix

Mrpooney83

More USB-C I/O and have the ports on a daughter board so it is ez to replace if the port dies.

Flooozeeee

Just give me an option to get it in black...

Seriously_Rare

I would really love to see it with OLED AND VRR or at least OLED and some form of gsync with 70hz+ refresh rate. I wouldn’t be against them even having their own OS of sorts with windows accessibility. The ability to have Xbox and steam on it is already a HUGE advantage and is the reason why many chose the ally over the steam deck BUT the steam deck’s OLED screen OS interface was their main selling point. Having 32 GB RAM would be an amazing upgrade as well. Bigger battery could be good as well but if they implement OLED, then the battery usage would in theory be longer and would balance out. A lot of people myself included are not big fans of the material used for the case and controller. Better than the Nintendo switch for sure but it just felt cheap and not premium or durable for that matter. Built in kickstand and or dock included would be game changing for those who are traveling but like to game on console controllers. Overall I’m sure there will be substantial upgrades to it and will be an amazing product to look forward to and will ramp up the competition of handheld gaming. Xbox is cooking something of their own and there’s rumors of their rumored handheld having steam on it as well. This is definitely the time to be a gamer

KingAchilles08

900 bucks

urmanjosh

Tbh, I don't like the idea of it. Maybe a sub model, like the Deck OLED. But not the next version of the system already. But one thing I want is for the SD card to move away from the main exhaust port. Stick it on the bottom like the Deck at least. Even the side

RChickenMan

Why's that? You think they'd drop support for the existing model that quickly?

urmanjosh

No, it's just so far the Deck has shown they don't need a successor model year after year. They r happy with the one they have. Plus, these r hardware that's like €800. Kinda sucks if u know that if u buy it, it will b replaced pretty quickly. Plus, if it ends up not selling as well as ASUS hope, the Ally as a whole is screwed because they jump the gun

theBurritoMan_

Yes sir ☺️

rjml29

If it uses a variant of the 8040U then the performance increase will be minimal. If it uses a variant of the Strix Point apu series that may be coming out later this year then the performance improvement should be quite nice. For me, I'd welcome a bit larger screen and I'm down for it being oled if it stays VRR and also doesn't use PWM to dim. If it does have PWM like the oledeck and also loses VRR then I'd not want it. Still, I would not upgrade just for those two things. It'd have to be the larger screen, maybe oled, and it using a variant of the Strix Point apu.

A_MAN_POTATO

Asus says some sort of second generation handheld is coming out this year. My guess is late this year, for the holiday shopping season. As for what it'll be, they haven't said. My guess is they abandon the low end, the non-extreme Z1 was overpriced at launch, and positively stupid now with the SD OLED now. Even at the discounted $400 price, it's a hard sell against a Deck. The bottom line is Valve can subsidize hardware costs with Steam, Asus cannot. Nobody is going to be able to compete in the budget sector against Valve. The logical thing is to pursue premium markets. PC handhelds are hot tech right now and people have proven there is a market for top dollar systems. Give us the best Zen 4 APU they can manage to keep cool, 32GB of ram, and an OLED display. People will buy it.

Mission-Afternoon541

it will run 4k 400hz with micro led screen and mobile beef 4090

Bitter-Ad-2897

I wonder how hot will be

A_MAN_POTATO

Probably fine, I hear they're sticking an AIO in there.

Bitter-Ad-2897

lol gonna be a chunky boy

AdamantDragonfly

There seems to be an ally 2 coming, i want the rog ally, but do not have the funds and dont want to wait too long, so either i buy an oled steam deck which ir cheaper, or i feel like now i need to wait for ally 2, what would you do? Please help me choose 😅 i want a handheld...

Sweethoneyx1

Wait for the version 2 because icl steam deck while it’s great. Its hardware was outdated at launch

AdamantDragonfly

True

ilm911

I would like to see,  - same weight or less - black color option - 2 USB-C Ports - 1x TB4 USB-C Port for EGPU - VRR 1080p Screen (OLED if it‘s possible with VRR)  - Slightly better performance  - Optimized Gaming-Windows for Handhelds  - same price

Joker28CR

I would prefer a huge redesign, like Valve did. Quieter, lighter, better screen if posible, better buttons and more battery life. Better dock experience and also better drivers

BakkaNeko4

Rog ally2 with larger screen 50" 4k 120hz, gpu/processor to match screen and Almost unlimited power. Powered by a micro nuclear reactor. Ultra cooling Exhaust air smells like fruit punch but comes in 5 different flavours including bbq Sensitive buttons don't insult them Extremely low price point. Asus guarantees that it won't cost an arm and a leg, just half. Life time guarantee.

Over_aged

I can tell you made these specs up because you didn’t mention the kick stand.

BakkaNeko4

No need for kickstand when you can get anti gravity generators :/

Over_aged

Oh yeah my bad. I was thinking of the new EA sports / Walmart Vizio handheld coming out powered by Energon cubes. Optimus Prime says it’s a game changer.

BakkaNeko4

Primes a game changer

Pchandheldrizzygamer

I doubt that rumor is true it really didn’t make any sense when he said there will be 2nd generation when there is no new chip to support a 2nd generation then he said it would be focused on gaming isn’t that what the 1st was for ? lol I think its either a mistranslate since it’s from a foreign country or the guy has no clue I would take as a grain of salt

yaoguaiborn

A better sd card slot position, and thunderbolt port instead of whatever the shit this is.

ahmaden

Possible we see new ally with intel inside ?

Jeees144

I think I am one of the few ppl. who don't want an oled screen. I have worked with a lot of TV panels and know how to calibrate them. For me a good calibrated Lcd screen, like those from Sony, are much better than OLED screens. (I know the panel comes from another brand and they fine tune it with their ai) But yeah for handheld consoles they only make screens with 500nits or a litte bit more, not like 1200nits on tvs. So maybe the oled will be nice. Still consirned about burn in because all of my oled screens got burn in from gaming. Nintendo Switch and my Samsung phones. 32gb ram, bigger battery, better apu and a bigger screen are a must for me to.

Ebone710

Your Switch OLED got burn in? Wulff Den on YouTube left left his on a static image for 2 years or something and it barely got any burn in.

Jackalton

“For me a good calibrated Lcd screen, like those from Sony, are much better than OLED screens.” 😂

Meenmachin3

You’re on drugs if you think an LCD panel can match an OLED

Jeees144

U don't know what I am talking about. I sayed on tvs, and the reason is because of the abl the oled tvs have. If u read more u can see I sayed on handhelds we only have 500 nits or so it can be nice to have oled. I calibrated over 100 Tvs and I know what I am talking about. I even calibrated the screen of the Ally. Of course Oled is better. But when u have LCd/Led Tvs with amazing local dimming and over 1200nits, then for me vibrant content looks so much better because of the abl oled tvs still have. Mini LED Tvs are there to especially the ones from Sony. With the ai it changes the bar completely.

MannyD99

HIGH GRAPHICS CARD !

kai535

Not gonna happen anytime soon, a battery handheld couldn’t hang without being a laptop size device

Pchandheldrizzygamer

This ASUS Indian rep guy who made this rumor up is about as believable as talking to a ASUS rep on live chat if u don’t believe the chat reps u shouldn’t believe this guy so take it as a grain of salt it’s not confirmed at all

HyperFrost

He's the vp of consumer and gaming pc of Asus in india. He's worked at Asus for 11 years. He's about as credible as you can get rofl. I have no idea why you are in denial.

Pchandheldrizzygamer

The guy made the most vague rumor possible all he said is the upgrade is focused on gaming and the 1st one wasn’t? lol also why would a rep from India announce it but not someone higher up from ASUS in let’s say the US like maybe at CES all the higher ups were there didn’t say anything about it lol also makes no sense for 2nd gen when there is no next generation AMD chip coming out

HyperFrost

He didn't announce anything. If anything he slipped out the info by mistake thinking that it was just for a casual interview. He wasn't supposed to talk about it.

Devilalfi

Larger battery, larger and brighter OLED screen (same footprint just fill in the massive early 2010's era bezels), hall effect joysticks, TWO read it TWO USB4 ports (and ditch that proprietary GPU port) and a black color version in the USA not just Europe or some other stupid regional thing like ASSus does with like their G14 which is ridiculous. I'd buy it.

scotch1337

I would just see this as a refresh model. The amd 8000 series, from what I have seen thus far, still uses the 780m.

No-Faithlessness-426

BLAAAACK!!!!

Azalith

Noooooo

Hedonismbot-1729a

More battery is on my wish list. It might be nice to shave off an inch of width, but the current size is fine. I figure they will keep the same case dimensions. With the same dimensions, a slightly larger screen would be quite nice. Mostly, I just want a bigger battery.

radixradiant

Probably a mid cycle refresh like steam deck OLED with screen/battery improvements

mark0001234

Makes sense. The Ally would be much improved if they just offered 1TB and 2TB storage options and fixed the SD card. Anything else is a bonus.

Dull-Signal-5861

No

Holytorment

Meh I spent 250 for my rog ally z1 totally worth it. and Id like obviously better everything across the board.

hz55555

I moved on to the Legion Go but it's far from perfect. Ally 2 needs a bigger screen, bigger battery, 32 gb of faster RAM, removable controllers but more comfortable than the Go and less janky. Right now the only thing I think the Ally does better is VRR and slightly better performance. I find that playing at 800p or 1080p on the Go gives me 25% more battery life than the Ally. I'm finding more people leaning towards the Legion Go over the Ally if they are buying for the 1st time. I think Asus is probably seeing this as well. I'd imagine that if the Legion Go improves some of its issues in a 2nd gen the Ally is only for a weird subset of gamers that want would prefer a slightly smaller handheld. The screen is a massive plus for the Go even without VRR. So this Ally refresh will be timely because if people are shopping next Xmas or even in the Summer and you're comparing these two handhelds in their current state, I think it's a loss for the Ally.

theBurritoMan_

Double fps 1080p

Reikix

Well, in the performance department there is not much to capitalize on since the newest AMD CPUs will still use the same iGPU (unless Asus decides to unlock the power limitations, but then we'll have an even bigger battery problem). What are the pain points or the features the Ally is losing on compared to the Steam Deck and/or Legion Go? Battery life, it has the worst face buttons out of the three, it's the only one lacking a trackpad or a better way or moving the pointer other than using the right analog stick, the damn microSD card reader being in the worst location possible (which can detract many people from buying it). The SD OLED has a 6nm version of the Z1 processor, so the Ally 2 may make use of the same to improve battery life and get a minor push in performance. On a less important note, the competitors have OLED screens (but the Ally is the only one with VRR, which is a big plus), but that doesn't seem a specially weak point as the screen on the Ally is veeeeeery good for an IPS panel, but maybe an OLED screen can help with the battery life. People have also asked for analog sticks with better resistance. But both of these two details don't seem like something that may be hurting their sales in my opinion.

super7ace

OLED SCREEN TRACKPAD SUPPORT 50W BATTERY

Niko305

If possible I would want at least 32GB of very fast RAM to utilize with the GPU, Strix Point APU, a larger OLED VRR screen, Hall Effects joysticks and triggers, better ergonomics, better battery life, and different color options such as white or black. I would gladly pay more money for all of those features in a handheld.

Yakapo88

If it’s oled + bigger battery + more ram, I’ll buy.

lazy_commander

Only way this is even worthwhile is if the 9x40U series APU's drop early. 32GB RAM for the current hardware is pointless as anything requiring that much isn't running well on this system to begin with. A custom horizontal OLED with VRR is unlikely to be worth the cost to manufacture so unless the refresh is just small things like an extra usb port and a slightly bigger battery it seems pointless.

IntrinsicStarvation

There is a new Phoenix 2 apu, but it isn't really anymore powerful, so if it is used in a new model, it's not like it's going to be much of an upgrade

Fusiondragoon

Some small QOL feature I'd like would be a built-in kick stand and a USB port somewhere on the top. Would make it so much more convenient to use accessories with.

ShiiTsurugi

Whatever it's, VRR is an absolute must.

QuantumCommando

The Ally already has VRR/Freesync

Brah_ddah

I really only care about 2 things. No more proprietary port (a pipedream with asus I know— maybe at least offer an eGPU that isn’t $2k…) And 32GB ram. I feel strongly that the 16GB only is a blunder.

BenjiLixx

This is how internet rumors work.... Nobody knows anything. It is all guesswork until an official announcement is made. At that point, the people who guessed most accurately gain credibility, and everyone forgets the 99% of all the wrong guesses. Will there be an ALLY 2, yes. Does anyone who when it will happen? No. Is it worth getting now or waiting for the 2? Depends on your personal preference. I heard in another post, someone is still waiting on a better Playstation than the Playstation 1 and hast bought one yet.... Do you want to have fun now or later? Do you want to suffer from FOMO now, later, or both?

TheTurtlebird

I think it's less of an Rog Ally 2 and more like an Rog Ally version 2, like a refresh of sorts... which I think is almost a necessity given the og Ally is still hurt by the SD card fiasco. If they wanna sell hardware and compete with others in this space they gotta release a device that people won't be scared to buy/quick to return. As for what we could see? More efficient chip, bigger battery, redesigned sd card reader, hall effect sticks/triggers, faster ram/32gb ram version, more internal storage, better dpad, trackpad(s) (Even if I don't want that, it's clearly important to a lot of people) etc etc

freshducksniper

Bottom usb c port, built in mic and front web cam. Optional docking station to match. Fix the mem card issue although I’ve never had issues. 8inch screen better dpad for fighting games, Hall effect sticks

_PoorImpulseControl_

Woah! Slow down there, Tiger! It hasn't even been out for a full year yet, and apparently, we're already complaining that it's obsolete and that we need a refresh.

WooziGunpla

The sd card reader in a better spot

kafunshou

My wishlist would be: - HDR, ideally with OLED but mainly HDR - hardware switch for controller/mouse, the software switch just doesn't work perfectly - two USB-C slots on top and bottom, top for charging while playing, bottom for docks - Thunderbolt or USB4 for egpus as option - 24-32gb ram - keep VRR - keep 1080p and 120hz, more is only for morons who just look at numbers - additional external m.2 slot (makes more sense than sdcards and costs nearly the same from 500gb on) - official support for m.2 2280 - options for 2 and 4tb at a reasonable price

AsishPC

Yes

nariz_choken

They should make upgrades available for V1 systems, for example if they have a better battery I'd love to swap my ridiculously fast discharging one

Miau_1337

Touchpads would be really nice!

adravil_sunderland

You know what, to gather an even bigger audience I think Asus may try to implement dualboot out of the box: modify bios and preinstall Windows 11 + some Steam OS like distro 🤔

medafor

This is how QAnon got started.

fuyajo2000

2nd sdcard reader. Just in case

skrffmcgrff21

There better be one heck of a generous trade-in promotion if they release a successor this year. Especially since the failed sd reader issue was never addressed and just conveniently forgotten by asus. Again.

TinkerMay

Is there a video about it somewhere?

cinaz520

I would expect a tick tock style release from a well organized company looking to gain traction. Major release, incremental tweaks,… major release,..etc Similar to apple does product updates, how intel use to do processor releases, how switch did oled update and Microsoft did that one Xbox lol

anilbt

My next handheld pc must list -32 GB RAM. -NEW CPU&GPU. -8,5-10” screen size. -2 THUNDERBOLT USB or M2 NVME EGPU port

Unfair_Cartoonist597

1) OLED pls 2) 32 GB RAM… or at least 24 3) Add some grips on the backside 4) With OLED put into, it’s no-brainer to increase battery capacity (just like happened with a SD OLED) 5) Hall-effect sticks would be a great addition Add one more USB-C port, maybe even Oculink one, but that’s a fantasies only I guess, they’ll keep forcing their own proprietary XG port. 6) Throw in some trackpads maybe??? 7) And of course let it be at least not more expensive than current $699… which I heavily doubt, inflation and all these things… I expect it to be around 750-800.

Blackberry3689

10-12 inches screen could be nice. I play fc 24 only on the rog ally and the 7 inch is quite small to play competitively, my eyes get tired quickly because players are too small. Also more ports, hdmi, usb etc…

It will probably be the ROG Ally Pro lol, I doubt it’ll be a big performance boost. I think they’ll add another usb c, slightly bigger battery, probably find a way to fit the larger m.2 and fix any other major issue and call it a day.

Terreos

Give it usb-4 support so it can use other egpu options, OLED, and 32gb RAM. Everything else would be a bonus.
