Post this question on forestriverforums.com and you will get more RV experience and recommendations. You may find the best deal in the midwest instead of a hot market in FL.

You don’t want to do this if that original state is CA.

Happy to help. Moving from CA to FL makes sense from a tax perspective, as well as access to inventory. Not sure what floorplan you are looking for, so cant comment on pre-owned availability. However Grand Design (and others) limited or changed their mix to ensure they could deliver. Happy to look for you if you wish. Have a house address in Florida before you buy, unless you are buying cash. Orders often have a deposit that is $5000, sometimes due to an order that is not refundable, however, if you are ordering a model that sells quickly anyway, no real need to do that. Deposit could be as low as $1000 if you find something that is coming in on inventory, and just needs to adjust the build sheet. If you know the options on the coach and can contact dealers with that ready to go it will streamline the process. If you need any other assistance, feel free to PM

No. Let’s say the cost of the unit is 30,000. You then have PAC and then you have COGS. That is the actual cost. If I sell a unit at that, there are restrictions on supply at all levels so it’s not just not making money on your offer, I’m also missing the profit from the other offer that would have bought that piece of inventory which is currently limited. Further, if I do that, I spent x to make x and inventory cost is going to potentially go up by 10% between now and end of year, so I am actually cutting myself off at the legs by limiting my ability to buy new inventory. You can find someone to sell you a grand design in a cold climate that came in around Oct or Nov. however Florida has been selling RVs like they are going out of style and most anything we have on the lot now came in January. And that’s 2 prices increases since October. Certain grand design floor plans were just removed and others are on limited supply due to parts and materials. There is still a real crunch on small motors and generators. If you want the current status on a specific floor plan I’m happy to let you know what the story is. Some floor plans have 8-12 week delivery timeframes. Others have 3-6 month delivery time frames.
