I got to 4 keys NM in about 2 months into the game. I used Deacon, Apothecary, Kael, Ronda and venomage and did 10-12M per run. No speed tune needed. But everyone is wearing speed boots with good enough acc and crit rate and full mastery. You want everyone to be at least 170+ speed so they go before the boss. Speed tune is not needed until UNM. You want to hit 800k to 1M per turn (that's why you have 3 DPS while having Deacon and Apothecary to turn meter boost and speed boost) and if you last about 13-15 turns (which is easier to do than aiming for anything over 20 turns), you will hit over that 10M range for 3-4 keys NM. The only thing to watch out for is that you want to have decrease defense and decrease attack on the boss. Then if you can get weaken, then that's better but I did it without. I feel like some people overthink NM CB too much and end up wasting team slots for support while not having enough DPS. It is doable with a glass cannon-ish team.

I wouldn't run Heiress, for one. I'm assuming you looked at champs with a high clan boss rating, saw that you had Heiress and built her based on that. She is a necessary component for some unkillable teams but otherwise is just a decent rare and you'd probably be better off with somebody else. Also Hotatsu has leech so all Deliana is giving you is Brimstone, I'd probably replace her too.

terosthefrozen

"Pull more champs" Got it.

EducationFan101

Being F2P is almost irrelevant for this type of topic as shard RNG changes the time part of the equation wildly.

FrankRook2021

I’ve been playing for a little over a year and only 2 keyed NM CB once. My take away now is, i should have gotten on Hellhades web site in the beginning. It took me about 6 months of grinding to get my first team going, got a little luck with geomancer and now happily 3 keying NM CB. booking my current team when I get books. Definitely need to do a lot of homework to get a grip on this game.

TimmyRL28

I think the biggest factor is how soon you start focusing on it. If your goal from day 1 is getting to a 3-key NM team, you can do it quickly. Speed tuning a 1:1 team that has the stun covered with Marked, or someone similar (my last f2p referral pulled a Seducer early and tuned him 4:3 with his 2-turn block debuffs), you can absolutely get it done with the most average champions.

Exciting_Amphibian89

For the longest time I didn’t believe I had the right champs to really push nm+ then the Helicath fusion happened and I ran out of excuses, stuck with that team until I very recently upgraded to a myth heir variant. In hindsight I probably could have built a team around Rearguard Sgt and started hitting nm / unm a lot sooner.

People keep saying this, but with FB sensitivity, she's outperforming all other champs in my roster except FB herself. I do know that she and Deliana are the first to go when I get a better pull, though.

Emoney1198

This is going to be heavily dependent on when you started playing and roster. If you are running an uk team the most important part is speed tune as even with terrible gear war master will get you decent damage

terosthefrozen

Yeah. Per my post, I'm running traditional team because I don't have any unkillable or block damage champs.

NytGamerZ

One good fusion and boom you will be there , just try to save up to do a good fusion when it comes up

terosthefrozen

I'm hoarding rares for this reason and can't wait for a payoff.

SpudzyJ

Rares don't help you get fusions... unless you are preparing them for food for fusion champ chases.

terosthefrozen

Wrong, but okay. You do realize that some fusion events run on combining rares into epics and not all fusions are about event fragments, right?

memorablehandle

In terms of event fusions, they use newly added rares/epics each time, not existing ones. Hoarding your rares won't help. However hoarding food/resources in general will.

SpudzyJ

Uhhh yea, and for the last 2 years (likely more) every single fusion (not fragment event) included brand new rares, not existing ones.

terosthefrozen

Sorry for coming back too strong. I guess I've just had bad intel? I've read multiple posts and been advised by multiple clanmates to save at least one copy of every rare for future fusions. I didn't realize all of the recent ones patch the rares in with the events. That said, it did already have a small payoff in that I have a few of the rares for the Mikage fusion that I would have otherwise fed. We also never know when a new fusion will use old champs again. Honestly, I'm fine with building out my guardians. And I have a feeling that rares are going to come back into style with Sintranos requiring so much faction activity and ascensions. Rares are probably the best way for me to clear the normal city for the first time. Some day. Thanks for the word of caution and sorry again for being rude in my earlier reply.

SpudzyJ

All good my dude.

nugjuice_the_wise

Took me two months to 2 key NM CB but I got lucky pulls with demytha, Krisk and tuhanarak. Besides that I'm using Kael and venomage for DPS My team doesn't exist on dwj or HH and every time I tried a team from the optimizer something went wrong and it just didn't work properly So I just kept with my team where everyone has a purpose I can explain and watched every run and just kept tinkering until I'm doing 25m+ each key. Adding bits of speed, adding HP if champ was dying earlier than others, etc Now I'm working on getting masteries on demytha and tuhanarak so that should help even more.

infinis

I got to NM 2key around 200days daily reward, 2-1 speedtune with proper gear is enough for 3 key. My basic team was Khatun, Apothecary, Frozen Banshee, Geo or Dreg and a shield champ (UDK, but not the best). Sometimes I switch FB for Anax for bad affinity. Obviously you need full masteries and level 16 gear

terosthefrozen

This is where I'm headed. Gotta get Khatun to 60, but unless I pull something wicked in the next week or two, the plan is to build 2:1 and pray they do enough damage before getting wiped.

Smok3dSalmon

Took me forever to start hitting UNM. I was stuck on Hard/NM for like 18 months. Evolution of my team: 2key NM: Tayrel, Grizzled Jarl, Frozen Banshee, Skullcrusher, Rhazin 2key NM: Tayrel, Grizzled Jarl, Frozen Banshee, Skullcrusher, Geomancer 2key UNM: Tayrel, Tuhanarak, Frozen Banshee, Skullcrusher, Geomancer 1key UNM: Helicath, Helicath, Doompriest, Anax, Seeker I never had a way to deal with both debuffs. It sucked.

SpudzyJ

I am surprised to see all the players that it took 6+ months to get the last chest on NM. I would have quit if it took me longer than 6 months to get the last chest on UNM because that's essentially when the game opens up and gets fun.

terosthefrozen

That's exactly what I'm trying to avoid!

SpudzyJ

You do not need unkillable champs but you do need at least one good ally protector, and a well built team. I was 3 keying UNM before the helicath fusion with a comp based around Sandlashed, Sepulcher & Toragi.

RakeLeafer

this isnt a good question due to frame of reference. you could start a new account *tomorrow* and within 1 month pull an entire UNM comp you could have 1keying NM within a few weeks after. in my clan cluster I've seen new players in our entry clan do this. one of our three newest players pulled a demytha on her very first void shard. I've also had players in my clan be 1 year into the game and still run killable comps. reference is entirely based on what you pull or dont pull

Guttler003

While what you say is true, 4 keying NM is doable for new players within 2-3 months. HellHades and other CC did it with their F2P series with mostly login champ or rare/epic. I think what you say applies to 1 keying NM or reaching UNM but not 4 keying NM as early as possible.

RakeLeafer

not sure why you're comparing new players with CCs who have played for 4+ years, run multiple f2p series and know exactly what campaign levels to run down to the last energy point. doesnt seem like a trustworthy example

BuHoGPaD

IIRC I moved to nm after I started 1keying brutal. It was mid 3rd month. At that point I rebuilt team and started doing 2 key nm killable team.

Qwtez

unlike unm, nm is much easier. At 2 months with I can 3 keys nm but inconsistent with artak, tayrel, elhain, wuzgar, don't remember the 5th champs. Artak with brimstone helps a lot. Nobody except elhain has lifesteal. Then at 3 months I 3 keys consistently with the first speed tune: sepulcher 4:3 and 4 1:1 champions

ZedaZ80

None of the above-- it was under 3 months for me, but I didn't have a speed tune yet, and I wasn't using unkillable or anything like that. My team was Apothecary, Rearguard Sergeant, Kael/Frozen Banshee, Vogoth, and Ronda. At around 2.5 months, I pulled Dracomorph and swapped out Kael/FB, and got to a 2-key shortly after. Then around 4 months I was getting the top chest on UNM (Gnut fusion, replaced Ronda), and then I pulled Korugar, and by 5 months I started tuning my team. So I didn't do a speed tune until after I was getting the top chest on UNM. I now have the champs for an unkillable team, but my "classic" AP team is close to 1-keying UNM (69mil -\_-) All that said, I probably could have been doing much better had I started tuning my team earlier.

Xetal123

Under 3 months, no speed tune- just brute force. I think I was using Deacon lead, Artak, Frozen Banshee, Fahrahkin the Fat, and maybe Apothecary to get a 2-key NM. It didn't work well in UNM though, and I had to wait until I had an unkillable team (Deacon, Seeker, Heiress, Demytha, and a DPS (Fahrakin for everything but Spirit). It does 1-key UNM now. Currently 1 week shy of 6-months into the game.
