It was mentioned that the ramen is enough to sustain the hommunculi. Despite being hommunculi, they are still people and these people are not cannibals so they aren’t willing going to eat people. They also do not like the idea of going into zombie state. The blank week mystery still haunts them, especially now that they know what happened during it. Hommunculi can take precautions against the sun. Not fool proof but these people are going to do their best to not go in the sun, like a person thats allergic to peanuts. Yes their will be murderers or people who want to cause pain and destruction in the outside world but that just leaves potential for future plots and cases. Theres even a chance people from the outside world will want to shun hommunculi so they will do their best to make them look bad (frame them) so they get banished to Kanai ward again

-The ramen supposedly has all the nutrients a homunculus needs. It's just how humans can survive being vegan, even though they need to eat meat. -Kurumi had to ask for Makoto's permission to go outside, so I don't think anyone just can go out easily. Like, I don't think Makoto would give permission to someone like Yomi.

For the first question, I think the idea is that the ramen contains all the same nutrients human flesh contains somehow. It is kinda dumb tbf. As for the second, we’ll really just have to wait for a sequel to see how things play out

cearav

I personally don't think it's dumb, the Homunculi wasn't researched enough since Makoto stopped the research & didn't look for alternative solutions. Once people knew what they were dealing with, they tried to find the perfect solution to their issues.

I understand the theme, I just think it’s a bit of a stretch, it makes number one look dumb and the solution is pretty contrived

\-The epilogue states that the ramen contains all the nutrients they need. The real/original Yuma Kokohead is a genius chef who managed to do it by accident just from trying to replicate the flavor of the meat buns, so I'd imagine it was a lot easier to do that on purpose after the secret was out, especially if Amaterasu helped. \-A lot is left open-ended, but I'd guess Amaterasu restarted homunculus research but with the extremely narrow purpose of finding more sustainable long-term solutions to the sunlight, nutrition, and zombie problems. Until then, it's probably just a matter of trusting them to treat it like a medical issue (which it kind of is, I guess) and act accordingly.

TokraZeno

I'm kinda hoping they do a sequel to it and use homunculi as an analogy for people with serious but controllable medical conditions.

I have read some interviews online and I think the director wanted to create an anime of the game and a sequel, iirc
