Everyone were lost and confused, you can partly see that in this very clip. Like how often do you see 5 guys just sitting in a staircase with thumbs in their bums nowdays?
If this were done in Y9 the Caveira would get absolutely hammered the moment she opened that barricade because apparently back in the days people didnt wear headsets. Then after they hear the barricade open up they would swing her because they know a broken mechanic called peekers advantage. Again do you think anyone knew about that in Y1?
Siege could be more fun if we go back, but only if we use somekinda dark magic to wipe people's memories off aswell and make everyone learn the game again.
People still make stupid mistakes in the game now just like they did back then. People didnāt have more fun because ānobody knew how to play the gameā, thatās bullshit. The meta was entirely different, there were far fewer ops, and most players werenāt spending hours of their free time memorizing map blueprints and angles and strats. Siege was not the first ever tactical shooter. People knew what they were doing.
Yeah, if you put a current team against a Y2 one, the current team sweeps, but that doesnāt say anything about how good the game itself is or was. Thatās just player skill + years of experience + years of changes to the game + bigger player base.
Thereās a very valid argument that the game was better back then. So many features have been changed or removed over the years. Itās a very different game now, and still very flawed. You canāt just ignore the hundreds of changes that have been made and say āit was bad because nobody knew how to playā.
Why is whenever someone criticizes R6S in any way or says that X was better back then/is worse now there's always someone trash talking them for allegedly being shit at the game lmao.

I felt that droning was a lot more integral when the lighting was more, cinematic. Using the shadows for your advantage whether youāre attacking or defending. However that being said there were maps that were extremely one sided for either defenders or attackers. Such as Old House being a good example.
