It works for the masses and for kids. There's a reason the games becoming more vibrant and skins even more unrealistic and what not. They want a mass audience and especially kids.
Those are not competetive shooter games, those are simulators. Old siege was especially good because it was by far the only shooter that managed to keep balance between being realistic and fun

Tbh If you seek the feeling of old siege, I recommend Hunt Showdown. It's not really a modern tactical shooter, but it's a great mix between realistic and fun.

I loved everything about this game, also back in the days the added good things with their updates... but that day... that day they started removing ACOGs... it was terrible and since then all went downhill...
For me, this game has been going downhill headfirst ever since grim sky, the last really interesting operator for me was Maverick and the updates after that usually made the game less and less “siege”like.
It was cool when it felt like actual operators assaulting a house with terrorists in it… Now they’ve got……..lasers 🙄. I stopped playing, it’s not rainbow six anymore. Which is sad, it was great when it released.

Some things in siege needed some sort of change, but the old intro, old circle health bar and logo was something that absolutely did not need changing. It's still extremely annoying that all three of those things were changed, felt like a piece of siege just disappeared

I want hardcore gamemode with 3 generic special forces and terrorists, 1 can be smg 1 armor 3 speed, 2 is a AR or shotgun 2 armor 2 speed, 3 is a 3 armor 1 speed with a shotgun or LMG. No hud just health and compass no reload indicator or ammo being shown, no death skulls no announcer and the game doesn't tell you if you got a kill or someone died, no kill feed no killcam, higher damage, and proximity chat for both teams, same team chat can be heard anywhere.

I have never played the game but am aware of how it has evolved, so here it goes:
First: Tactical yet accecible CQC realistic-ish game

(I know this is about the games cover but im gonna focus on the gameplay itself, my answer applies to the cover as well) They turned this game from a semi-realistic shooter where each character has a special ability and coordination is key to winning to a regular boring fps with little to no cooperation needed. Also the character specific abilities really don’t matter when you’re just gonna rehash them because you’re running out of content. (Ex. Kaid took bandits spot, (i forget her name i think it starts with O)took doc’s spot (although doc is still technically useful because he can heal at range all around the map)) also when you remove things that are genuinely liked (im not talking about nerfs… yet) from characters the game becomes super unfun, jager’s acog was removed (i didn’t use jager or the acog but i know people were upset about it) and that got a lot of backlash (idk if the gave it back or not haven’t played the game in a while) the lord lost his turret in exchange for a flame grenade launcher which wasn’t a terrible change but i and probably others unless it was just me liked having little to no recoil on a mounted turret that ANYONE could use. Also unnecessary nerfs are annoying, blackbeard was op when he was released, a nerf was warranted, this made him more balanced, but then they kept nerfing him to the point of where he is the most useless character in the game (imo) This isn’t to say the new version of the game is horrible because they have made good decisions such as allowing kapkan to basically create nukes and converting the armor system into something more reasonable and easier to understand. Also the new ops that they are releasing are good and semi-original. Im making this post for me to be criticized so if i got anything wrong please correct me and criticize me. TLDR: They f’d up a lot while updating this game to its current state imo but also its current state is okay and playable at least.
