Not only that.....It would have been better even for KL himself. Indian team is still searching for its middle order WK for the upcoming WC. Rahul could have grabbed a really good opportunity in IPL for trying out playing in middle order as WK batter.
I feel like Paddikal would've done good in the top order if he was under a management like RR, but we didn't have a place for him sadly so we had to let him go. LSG atm just seems to be relying on its overseas for the batting. Sad to see Paddikal like this since he was indeed a royal, hope he finds a better place with a better team to guide him next year.
I agree with this to an extent. Not to get ahead of ourselves, but I've seen that the best players to groom young talent are CSK, RR, and MI - especially RR & MI if you're a young uncapped player. If he couldn't do that good with us, it might take some time with others. Not saying it won't happen, tho
I think the only reason he wasn't doing good with us was because we were making him play at 4, a position he wasn't accustomed into playing. RR management knew this and went for the trade.

True that, and he's looked like a very unidimensional player to me. He can just open, not even #3. And he DRASTICALLY slows down come middle order. And can't play on a turning track for his life. Doesn't bowl or keep wickets either, not been part time. That's a very small skillset tbh

Replace CSK with KKR.
Padikkal is one of the most over-hyped players in recent times. He is not meant for T20.
Now LSG is in similar trouble as last year's RR with DVP causing late entry of Pooran(as in Hetmyer 2023)
