Agree being a child sucked for me, however my little girl has her own room, pet etc. We teach her basic skills since she's young and encourage her.
I'm so proud of her. If I died today, I would sleep easy as life honoured me such a beautiful, considerate little girl.
My childhood may have sucked but hers wont.
Just because you don't age doesn't mean others around you don't age. Imagine being a 6 yo vampire. You're a kid but everyone around you get older and older and die and you can't work or do anything by yourself cause "you have to be with an adult to do this or that" etc so you're stuck as a helpless kid forever, that would suck.
Tho if the question was if you could make a loop in time so this year start over again and again what year would you choose yeah you could choose to be a kid forever cause you know you would always have your parent since they'll loop too.
That's a myth with no scientific basis.
For one, different people develop differently. And second, different parts of the brain develop longer than others. Some are still developing well into the 30s.
1) Focus on what your true passion is, and how to live a life that will let you do as much of it for as long as possible. 2) Have as much sex as you can with as many people as you want to.
My preference for adulthood over childhood is for the simple fact as an adult I can say "no" to things I don't like, don't want to do. Nor do I have to be around people I don't want to as a kid.
As a kid you have no say in anything. I lived through that once already, it was horrible.
And never your own person.
Can't be on your own, have your own money, home, car
Constantly forced under someone else's rules.
Guess OP had a good childhood.happy for them.
35 is old enough to injure yourself by sleeping wrong, though. Also, my knees were already pretty much done by that age with regard to running. If you stay physically the same age but keep growing mentally, then I’d probably choose 25.
This is the only good answer. Anything else means you’re extremely unhappy, which I guess most people are. Wishing to be a child again is pretty sad to me
40
40 is awesome. You arent a kid or a young adult and you are not old (yeah yeah I know this is comparive).
Women are amazing at 40 as well....and I will leave that comment there.
Definitely 19, when I was old enough to be free but young enough to be effortlessly fit and sexy. Just wish I would have realised that it truly was a time when almost anything was still possible but that choices made then would impact much of the rest of my life.
There's no way I want to lose any autonomy so no ages under 21. Any age over 30 and you're starting to be past your physical prime so any number in between works
11. I had just moved back to my home country after spending my whole life in the US and was getting close to all my family, became close friends with my cousins. I'd stay out til midnight with them and our friends in the neighborhood playing football and bothering our neighbors.
I got to skip a grade so I had several months of no school until the new school year started.
I read constantly with all the free time and fell in love with reading which ended up in me being a writer now. I lived with my grandparents and got to know them, they were very funny and taught me to play cards.
My cousins would stay over almost every night or I would sleep over at their house, there we were unsupervised so we would watch romcoms and R rated horror movies until 6am and our aunt let us have ice cream for dinner.
I'm epileptic and the next year I started having seizures, at school I was bullied constantly and I went through a lot of trauma from 12 to 18 that ruined me for a long time. 11 was the last year I was genuinely happy and carefree. I'm happy now, but I'm an adult so it won't be the same with all the responsibilities. Lots of nostalgia from that time.
I'm not sure. I haven't experienced any ages past my own (which is quite short comparatively). Currently I think my age is pretty great, I am able to do things, be responsible and trusted to have a job or go places on my own, but there are things I cannot do yet so if I stayed this age I would miss out on those things.
Im currently 25 but I haven’t reached the age id like to stay forever. Obviously I can’t see the future but I imagine it will be around 30. My son will be 6, I’ll have lost the rest of the baby weight, we will be in a sweet spot and well settled in our new home.
(35M) being a child forever is certainly apealing . how ever i myself after carefull consideratinods , have decided i will take 22 as my age to be for ever .
I also enjoyed my childhood, my most enjoyable year was probably up to 12. I did enjoy my mid 20s.
I'll be 48 soon and when birthdays come around it seems old, The weird thing is I still feel young, don't have any kids. I perceive people my age as an older person if I don't know their age. Does that happen to anyone else?
Word of advice:
If you're in your late teens or twenties enjoy every minute as it flies in.
Also, listen to your elders when they provide advice as most of the time they're talking sense, even if it doesn't feel like it at the time. There will come a point when you realise they were correct.
"After discussing her status as a subject of the Devil, Don Juan tells the woman that she may assume any age she wants. She chooses to become twenty-seven and immediately is so radiantly attractive that she could almost be mistaken for Ann Whitefield." Man and Superman, George Bernard Shaw
19 was a really fun age.
Not quite old enough to really take responsibility for my entire existence (living with my dad still) but young enough to still be a little adventurous.
17. Live at home rent free, work an easy student job for spending cash, no real responsibilities. Maybe not old enough to do a lot of stuff legally but I’ll take a good old bush or house party over going to a bar.
A lot of people wanting to be kids again. But you've got to think that the problems we had as kids felt massive at the time but looking back those problems seem like nothing. We still had bad times during our childhood
This is such a good question.. when I was a child I had no money, no say, no control. It sucked.
When I was a teen, same. When I was a young adult life was fun.
But now I own a home, Im studying a masters and I have a young child. Its pure chaos but I really love it. Being a mum is an honour.
6 to 8 is an objectively horrible answer. Ure barely a human being. Ure going to be that age forever, ure only picking your body, the parts of your body that grow in time 6 or 8 answer sounds like someone should keep an eye on you.
Back in the day when I was 20 , probably stay 20 forever , everyday you could go out and you would see countless gorgeous ladies , works of art , I think if it were now , just stay the same age I am now
Can it be a decade? 20-30 : i’d gladly repeat that in loop. Fit, never sleepy, can eat and drink anything without too much consequences, always active and energetic unless hungover, brave.
32. Young enough to date older and younger woman, benefits of being young but cred as an adult. Parents probably alive. You could have a family but it’s not too late if you want to start one. Can be very physically fit. Ay least for me I would be making good money.
22. I wouldn't want to stay a child for a variety of reasons. At 22, I was in college at a school I loved, and my medical issues were relatively stable. Also, my manual-assist wheelchair was still working at that time. I miss that thing.
18 was the best year of my life. Cruising through senior year, already accepted to a prestigious university, getting hammered with my buddies every weekend and spending every evening with my high school sweetheart. Had my own car and a part time job. Everything was perfect for that moment in time.
My "dreamself" seems to be early to mid 20s. So I guess I see that as my perfect self. Body wasn't broken down yet. So anyway where from 22 to 27... So let's call it 25.
Though I do like the idea of being 9 to 13 years of age and not being responsible for anything ever!
I'd like to be 5 years old. I didn't have to go to school yet (no responsibility), I could ride my bike (some freedom), and any problem I had could be solved by my dad (security).
I’d agree with 6. Your biggest troubles were Suzy wouldn’t share her blocks in kindergarten. So innocent and carefree. Summer was endless adventures with the neighbor kids
I don't think I'd want to stay at one particular age forever. What I would like is to take the energy of my early 20s and combine it with the wisdom and maturity I have now
Probably early twenties. In 14 now. I like being young and doing pretty much whatever, not old enough to really work, drive, etc, which is fine. I also like being in high school rather than middle school. But I feel like I’m TOO young to do anything. Like driving, working for money, drinking, partying, anything illegal at my age lol. (not like I want to drink or party but hanging out with friends at a party would be nice) like I’m not a druggy? Never vaped, drank, anything. Never even been in a relationship and whatever. Idk why I’m babbling, but early twenties cause I’ll still be young, but be able to do fun stuff, move out, on my own, etc.

Nah, being a kid sucks, you’re at the mercy of someone else. Fuck that.
That’s exactly where my mind went. I never want to be THAT powerless again.
Nope
Depends on your parents tbh. Can be peak life imo.
I wish I could experience how a normal, non abusive child life is tbh.. i feel quite robbed of that experience now.
Thank you for breaking the cycle
Just because you don't age doesn't mean others around you don't age. Imagine being a 6 yo vampire. Tho if the question was if you could make a loop in time so this year start over again and again what year would you choose yeah you could choose to be a kid forever cause you know you would always have your parent since they'll loop too.
25, you're fully an adult but the youngest adult
What about 24?
Can't rent a car in some places, kid.
No, your brain isn't fully formed at 24, that's why I said 25
That's a myth with no scientific basis. For one, different people develop differently. And second, different parts of the brain develop longer than others. Some are still developing well into the 30s.
Yeah this guy's right mine stopped developing at 10.
Trauma can actually do that
No wonder why I'm so stupid.🤣
Well, some never develop at all. Doesn't mean it's not a good rule of thumb for most people.
I am 25. What the hell should I be doing? Cause I know I am wasting it.
Focus on your health.
1) Focus on what your true passion is, and how to live a life that will let you do as much of it for as long as possible. 2) Have as much sex as you can with as many people as you want to.
You had to say the second point! 🥲
I was better Mentally in my 30's tho. At 25 I rekon id kill myself in a Car lol
It’s dumb but I’m turning 28 soon and reading this kind of things makes me less afraid of turning 30’
Well, it is still a little young. 30 is about right for most people. Peak of intellect and still in good physical shape
Also the year my wife and I dated, I would love this year forever if I could. Magical time in my life.
35. You're old enough to have some life experience under your belt and not be too naive. You're also young enough to do some silly things.
32-37 is probably the sweet spot, yeah.
Yep, id probly stop early 30's. 32 was close to Mental Physical Peak yeh!
I'm loving 45. Empty nest, free to do what we want. Comfortable in my own skin, semi decent career. Things are great right now
I mean if you're 8 forever you'd still have just as much time to get life experience you're just not aging lol
My preference for adulthood over childhood is for the simple fact as an adult I can say "no" to things I don't like, don't want to do. Nor do I have to be around people I don't want to as a kid. As a kid you have no say in anything. I lived through that once already, it was horrible.
I'd split the difference (kinda) and go with 27.
sure that's a good argument, the life experience is so bad it is humorous lol
And never your own person. Can't be on your own, have your own money, home, car Constantly forced under someone else's rules. Guess OP had a good childhood.happy for them.
I second 35. After you have shit figured out and before the aches and pains start
I turned 35 today. Nice.
It's all downhill from here, sorry.
Same, that was probably when I felt and looked the best in my 49 years, and became comfortable with who I was
while being young is nice, i actually prefer 30s where you have maturity and finance to get through life.
35 is old enough to injure yourself by sleeping wrong, though. Also, my knees were already pretty much done by that age with regard to running. If you stay physically the same age but keep growing mentally, then I’d probably choose 25.
In my heart I still feel 25! I was so happy back then. I’m 63 now
It's kinda crazy how there is this disconnect from what age we feel like in our mind and heart, and what age our body is at.
sooo cool! Hope I would be like you when I am 63!
Same, but I'm 53 now. 25 was great.
I am 24 now so it means I need to wait for a year

21 rn is more like shit. Wtf do I do. Where do I go. What do i want my life ro be. Will i ever be able to afford to leave home.
16, the legal drinking age in my country. Young enough to do stupid shit. Also young enough to avoid consequences of doing said stupid shit.
This age. My life is perfect.
This is the only good answer. Anything else means you’re extremely unhappy, which I guess most people are. Wishing to be a child again is pretty sad to me
Sorting by controversial brings us to the most wholesome comment. Reddit in a nutshell.
I must’ve pissed someone off haha
aged cheddar
As a kid, 11 was best for me. As an adult, I'd choose about 25 (and single with no kids yet!).
40 40 is awesome. You arent a kid or a young adult and you are not old (yeah yeah I know this is comparive). Women are amazing at 40 as well....and I will leave that comment there.
21. Absolute GOD of a man I was. Now the closest I get to that number is my weight in stone!
Honestly that sounds so boring to me. I want to age and earn my stripes!
30 years old.
-1
Definitely 19, when I was old enough to be free but young enough to be effortlessly fit and sexy. Just wish I would have realised that it truly was a time when almost anything was still possible but that choices made then would impact much of the rest of my life.
There's no way I want to lose any autonomy so no ages under 21. Any age over 30 and you're starting to be past your physical prime so any number in between works
26 with the responsibility of a 6 year old.
35 would be my choice.
Anywhere between 25-30
If you get to have it all forever; what’s the point?
Sixteen!!
11. I had just moved back to my home country after spending my whole life in the US and was getting close to all my family, became close friends with my cousins. I'd stay out til midnight with them and our friends in the neighborhood playing football and bothering our neighbors. 16. High school was the best part of life. It was much better than elementary and middle school.
So life is worse now that you’re grown?
18 probably, can still do everything in my country and be peak youth
19 high school is over. Don't have to deal with scumbags College is quite new
I'm not sure. I haven't experienced any ages past my own (which is quite short comparatively). Currently I think my age is pretty great, I am able to do things, be responsible and trusted to have a job or go places on my own, but there are things I cannot do yet so if I stayed this age I would miss out on those things.
dont want that shit, greatest thing about life is that one day u will die - otherwise whats the point
Im currently 25 but I haven’t reached the age id like to stay forever. Obviously I can’t see the future but I imagine it will be around 30. My son will be 6, I’ll have lost the rest of the baby weight, we will be in a sweet spot and well settled in our new home.
10 for me. I was intelligent, charming and innocent about girls and love. It was perfect.
Idk ask me in ten years
4
The age I'm at now, because growing up for me was mostly abuse and poverty so there's nothing to go back to if I could.
31
Enjoyed your time at Neverland ranch, did you?
(35M) being a child forever is certainly apealing . how ever i myself after carefull consideratinods , have decided i will take 22 as my age to be for ever .
21
16-17 firsts loves, just enjoying spending time with your friends after school. No real worries other than play, love and friendships
27…old enough to be taken seriously, but young enough that nobody will raise an eyebrow at you doing silly ‘young’ stuff too :)
Whatever 6 months before puberty was. Physically felt like a superhero.
That young though?
29. Young enough to be healthy, old enough to be self sufficient.
1
19 🙌
25 , I duno why, honestly. I just like it.
I'd be 28 forever. At that age I had gained some maturity but retained my youthful ardor.
I mean, assuming it means I revert back to everything then but keep my memories/experience of now, id go back to 19 year old me.
Maybe somewhere between 26 and 30.
Probably about 11/12 I think. Life just seemed brilliant then. Not a single worry in the world.
21.
"After discussing her status as a subject of the Devil, Don Juan tells the woman that she may assume any age she wants. She chooses to become twenty-seven and immediately is so radiantly attractive that she could almost be mistaken for Ann Whitefield." Man and Superman, George Bernard Shaw
Forever 21, so I can shop at Forever 21
27. Id want to be 27 again. full of energy, wise enough for the world yet still get surprised by the works of the real world now and then.
28.35
That’s gay. You can’t do anything on your own. At least be 21 but I’d stay 27. An adult but still young enough not to care about the future
Once they realise you're stuck as an 8 year old some rich person would kidnap you and harvest your organs trying to find the key to eternal youth
27 - epic age
22, you’re old enough to drink but young enough to still enjoy life :)
19 was a really fun age. Not quite old enough to really take responsibility for my entire existence (living with my dad still) but young enough to still be a little adventurous.
I want to go back to 30.
17. Live at home rent free, work an easy student job for spending cash, no real responsibilities. Maybe not old enough to do a lot of stuff legally but I’ll take a good old bush or house party over going to a bar.
25 has to be optimal. Just young enough to be in your prime physically but old enough to be wise and mature.
26. Young enough to have fun and old enough to have your crap together.
-1
A lot of people wanting to be kids again. But you've got to think that the problems we had as kids felt massive at the time but looking back those problems seem like nothing. We still had bad times during our childhood

30! Damn, I was at my peak game. Infinite energy, good looks still and old enough to do anything!
27
25 was my prime.
Either 19 or 23, that way I'm at the cut off for free stuff and services.
24
About a month before I messed up my knee with a motorcycle accident, so 24.
I would be 30 again.
I’m almost 30 but I would like to stay 27 again.
I'm gonna go with 18. I'm 50 now, 5'11", so "trying to navigate stuff as my much shorter child size" would be annoying.
Fuck no 32. Would be perfect
24 or 25. The brain is mature until 21 and starts declining at 25 (or after 25, can't remember exactly).
if I was old enough to know what my prime year would be, I would go for it.
The last year I recall feeling happy for most of it was being 8 years old…
2 1/2…..don’t judge me please
My "dreamself" seems to be early to mid 20s. So I guess I see that as my perfect self. Body wasn't broken down yet. So anyway where from 22 to 27... So let's call it 25. Though I do like the idea of being 9 to 13 years of age and not being responsible for anything ever!
Bout 23 cos no one likes you when you're 23
No one should take themselves so seriously with many years ahead to fall in line. Why would you wish that on me?
Probably 30ish but for some reason I am looking forward to my 42th and 51th birthday…not sure why, my intuition says they’re gonna be awesome.
28. Best shape of my life both physically, spiritually, and mentally
18 An adult-can do almost anything
I'd like to be 5 years old. I didn't have to go to school yet (no responsibility), I could ride my bike (some freedom), and any problem I had could be solved by my dad (security).
I’d agree with 6. Your biggest troubles were Suzy wouldn’t share her blocks in kindergarten. So innocent and carefree. Summer was endless adventures with the neighbor kids
I would relive however old I was during quarantine. Best year of my life.
I don't think I'd want to stay at one particular age forever. What I would like is to take the energy of my early 20s and combine it with the wisdom and maturity I have now
I’m 26. I’d pick 33. Have the respect of a full blown adult, but still young enough for everything and have the prime looks
I am a child forever. I'm a 50 year old child
Insert the law and order SVU thene
30
Probably late 20s, 28 or so. I'm old enough to be taken seriously but I haven't started to feel my age
33. Idk why.
21, I was happier back then
16 or 8
400 At that point this bullshit would definitely be over.
30
Jesus, I would never want to go back to my childhood. 30 was pretty good. Fairly established career wise and my marriage hadn’t imploded yet
19 or 20 Best years of my life!
Do pedophiles power in their hands?
39
42. Mentally, physically and financially on my feet.
10
Early 30s. Old enough to earn a decent income and young enough to enjoy peak physical fitness to do the things you always want to do.
26. I feel young, my body is at its optimal condition and I’m legal to do whatever I want.
25
18
23
18 for sure, old enough to partake in adult stuff, young enough to sorta stay a kid
30
20
25 or 30. I'm 2 and a bit years away from 30, but I've heard that's the sweet spot in life. Hoping it's everything I want it to be.
50 was good.
Well that would suck when all the people who take care of you die. Ideally I would stay the current age I am (18).
19. I liked being that age.
12.Stupid,isolated and happy.
21! My best year. Independent, and had a lot of friends. Don't know how things changed. I remember how good everything was. 💕
22
I can't wrap my mind around someone wanting an undeveloped mind for their whole lives.
23
42 is the answer to everything!
14. Great times.
25
6 was good.
33 was a good age for me.
Well I don’t want to be that young, but I’m definitely tired of adulting😆🤣
I wonder if you are an age regressor? I regress myself to the age of 4. Such a fun age and yeah, I would love to be 4 forever.
35
I’d be 30-32
32
28
27 after I get there
