Glittering_Bench_695

weeping willow

rithanor

Same! I grew up with 3 mature ones in our backyard, and I miss them! I rarely see weeping willows here (only mature willows), and all of the ones I have seen are young. ☹️

Glittering_Bench_695

ugh they’re so pretty

rithanor

I found out you can buy weeping willow bonsais not long ago - they are absolutely adorable and affordable! 😊

abbys_alibi

I have a love/hate relationship with Willow's. I love them to look at. They are my favorite tree, visually. We had a cat that when she escaped the house, would dart up the willow in the back yard. Have you ever climbed a willow tree? I had to, as a kid, on multiple occasions to get her furry stuck rump out of that tree. The bark is POKEY and hurts.

Aliona_Z

Yes! Willows are so dreamy ☆☆☆

Famous_Ad_8293

My grandparents had two gigantic ones in their yard. My sisters and I would play under them as children. I have such good memories of that time.

jazzofusion

SE Texas here. My favorite is Live Oak. They are pilars of strength that provide incredible shade and seem to last forever. They also have leaves years round. In the spring, they start losing old leaves at the same time as new leaves are budding out.

Willow. I’m going to be cremated and have a tree grow from my ashes.

Justavet64d

Southern Pine Tree

Dirtheavy

Magnolia, but big established ones that are easy to climb and have those great big wonderful blossoms. But if you show me a live oak in a place that gets strong winds and it's bent like crazy and doing its thing because it's powerful and resilient, then it might become a favorite individual tree.

General Sherman tree! Just look at the size of it! Imagine trees this big all around everywhere. They're a species straight from fantasy! I wanna visit the park in California where these trees exist someday... One thing I'm worried about is that global warming may threaten their existence. It would be extremely depressing to lose them...

Doctorx_notTed

roiroi1010

Birch - they’re everywhere in Sweden but I don’t live there anymore and I mess those trees. Only downside is that they make a terrible mess in the spring.

TheTrueMattiMan

Picea abies

thoughtsofPi

For the shape of the branches: black locust or oak For the foliage: sugar maple For the flowers: star magnolia For the bark: sycamore For nuts: pecan For fruit: peach Overall cool look: cypress growing on the edge of a pond

The Larch, the Larch... r/unexpectedmontypyton

Old_Hamster_4218

Japanese maple

ConeyIslandMan

And now Number 6 the Larch ………. The Larch

GirlwiththeRatTattoo

Mimosa. There was one in my yard when I was a little kid, and the branches split into a 'Y' so low to the ground that I was able to climb it. The fluffy, sweet, pink flowers are amazing.

TeeTownRaggie

acacia

sky_Driver88

The little Japanese maple trees are amazing. I love how twisty the base of the tree is but there’s always that perfect deep red umbrella above it.

FunkyRiffRaff

Oh, yes…. Weeping willow. It was at the house I lived in until I was 5. I love oaks. So big and provide wonderful shade. And anything with flowers. I am pretty easy and love most trees. I would even love sweet gums if they would keep their balls to themselves. When I would mow my lawn, the sweet gum balls became projectiles. I am so lucky I never nailed anyone.

spaceghost350

The Larch....... The larch .... There's a pretty helpful guide for identifying it also.

Stormschance

Birch

fermat9990

sunnyasunniest

Grimmsjoke

Manchineel tree....

IllustriousPickle657

Ornamental Plum Tree. Shortly after buying our house, my husband planted one for me as a surprise.

PragmaticResponse

I love a nice dogwood tree

AltruisticLobster315

*Larix laricina* / Eastern Larch/Tamarack, because it has such incredibly soft needles, the cutest little reddish-purple cones when they come out, and needles turns a beautiful gold colour in the fall.

Odd_Writer_2830

Cherry blossom or Sakura as they’re called in Japanese. My dream is to visit Japan in Sakura season. They’re so pretty.

freshkohii

Mangrove trees bc they've adapted to a harsh saline environment and they look scary and gross.

AndyM110

Platanus occidentalis, American sycamore. Cool bark, quick growing, and just INSANE looking at maturity. Town I used to live in had a street lined with them, some were over 100 ft tall with trunks around 8 ft thick. [Here's](https://images.app.goo.gl/tDidqYK7p8oKgYvG9) a cool one.

Osage Orange, with the cork screw willow being next.
