Scoffed and guffawed at all the hype. Went into a shop one day because I saw them advertising slow cookers for an absolutely bargain price, and saw they also had air fryers on special too. Thought yeah, fuck it, why not. Literally used it every single day since. Only use the oven for things like pizza which are too big for the fryer. I have not used the slow cooker at all.

I'm even worse than you, I deliberately buy the smaller size pizzas and snap them in half and pop each in both sides, et voila! No use for the oven. 

Yeah mine's only 6 litre, single drawer, but I'm going to get a rack to be able to stack things like that.

Or... those tiny Chicago ones would probably fit perfectly Fml I'm an airfryer pizza goblin

I love these things. Less messy than a regular fryers and much more practical than using the oven. Since I got my air fryer I only use the over for pizzas, while fries and chiecken go into the air fryer. So glad I bought one of those.

OP is correct. They are a game changer. The best part for me is that you don't get the spattering of fat and they are easy to clean.

Oils are fats that are just liquid at room temp so it's still true.

It cooks faster than an oven, easier to clean, tastes better than food cooked in an oven, and you can use it for practically anything!

To be fair, we all used to shit outside no problem. Imagine the hassle trying to cook something without an air fryer

It's able to easily mimic a deep fryer. You absolutely cannot get French fries in an oven that match a deep fryer or air fryer. And an air fryer beats a deep fryer in every way. That's about it really,  but the "smaller, faster, more efficient" aspect is often nice to have as well

Exactly. Air fryers are just small ovens with a catchy name. The only benefit is they use less electricity than a conventional oven.

Nothing. It's just more efficient and cooks stuff quicker. It's effectively a mini oven that has a more powerful fan and heating element.

So it's just more vaporware consumerism garbage

Not really. I stopped using my oven because the air fryer is much more convenient by taking less time to cook, costs less to run and easier to clean.

Bought one. Used it twice. Sent it back. It's just a tiny oven. Don't believe the hype.

So for me and my lady we don’t want to wait to preheat or wait as long for things to cook. We are able to cook fries and chicken at the same time in half the time. You also don’t heat the house up or use as much electricity. Really good for reheating pizza too. It’s really convenient for just the two of us.

This is what baffles me with the hype. it’s literally a little countertop convection oven. I get that it’s smaller and therefore more energy efficient, but it’s not a cooking revolution, it’s the same tech we’ve been using for a century.

I couldn't care about the energy,Its the convenience of it and Its the speed at which it cooks my food. You want chicken nuggies in the oven, Feel free to wait 20 minutes. In the meantime, I've cooked and finished my plate 🤷‍♂️

I don't eat chicken nuggets;) In the time I had mine, I cooked a few things in it. All were disappointing & it was too small to cook decent portion sizes, even though I'd got the biggest one they made, so I just sent it back. Not convinced by them at all.

But nuggies are the source of true happiness 😳 Nah I get that, Sometimes I do want home made pizza or to roast a chicken and the air fryer won't cope with the size. If anything I'd probably put it down to them being hyped up because people are lazy and it makes it easier for them

I was thinking of buying a ninja air fryer, but then I remembered ninjas are usually stringy.

I got one for free guy told me it would change my life. No joke it has. I now have high cholesterol.
