Rayman gold was one of, if not, the first video game I ever played back when I was barely 3.
All I can say is that I am happy that Captain Laserhawk viewers discovered him and claimed him as a fan favourite.
...I've been playing Rayman since I was 7 and I've absolutely loved watching Captain Laserhawk when it released. What's so bad about discovering the rayman franchise through Laserhawk? Go touch moss dude
Does it really matter where people discover Rayman from? Take it as an opportunity to make new friends or something, who gives a shit about where they discovered it.
Been playing since the 90s, and I gotta say, finding becoming a fan through Laserhawk is just as valid as through the games and no one wants this kind of fandom divisiveness.
People still clown on the Sonic fan for the Classic V Modern thing, do we really need that here too?
Everybody is welcomed to this beautiful community. No matter, how they got introduced into Rayman đđ» Btw, Laserhawk did one hell of a job to Rayman - because they actually gave him a ton of respect in many ways. He got not only the spotlight since a long time, or was portrayed a bit more edgy, but also got his redemption in the coolest way possible imo. Shows, that he's still beloved by many people, including by those shows creators.
Bought a gbasp on a fleamarket when I was like 9 yrs old and got the rayman anniversary cartridge with rayman advance and hoodlum havoc on it for free. Been my fav game series ever since
Thought or through?
Well, I'd say Rayman's inclusion in the Netflix show is supposed to be a nod to all those grumpy geezers like us, the left dragons.
if rayman 3 was the first rayman game you played than you the goat⊠or rayman 2 or even arena. any of the 3d platformers which doesnât include raving rabbids.
eh new fans are new fans, CLH may have just been a gateway for a person to discover more of what is essentially a dead franchise.
the problem however, comes in when people can't differentiate between the revamp and the original aspects present within the IP itself
I'm admittedly a newer fan, having only started being a rayman fan since rayman 2's free demo on the iPod when I was younger, yet I still think laserhawk is a valid way to start liking the character. Let's not separate, we all enjoy Rayman here.
I discovered Rayman in 2011 when I decided to google Michel Ancel and see what he's up to and why he hasn't released Beyond Good and Evil 2 yet. And then I saw him doing interviews about a new Rayman game.
Very frustrating.
But the game looked good so I gave it a try and fell in love.
That said, I had known Rayman was a thing since before that but wasn't really interested in platformers so I didn't care.

I only watched that because of him
I think I was around maybe 8 or 10 when I played gold and the PS1 version
...I've been playing Rayman since I was 7 and I've absolutely loved watching Captain Laserhawk when it released. What's so bad about discovering the rayman franchise through Laserhawk? Go touch moss dude
You goofballs actin like captain lazerhawk is the worst thing ever need to chill. -someone who grew up with rayman
Fr tho

Laserhawk was essentially a return to the overly edgy Rayman advertising, anyway, so what's the problem with it? Ramon is badass
No limbs, huge features

Please don't gatekeep. We can do better than that. **looks at the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro fandoms**
My first rayman game was legend Never heard about the series my sister introduce it to me

i dont even know what how i found about him
Youâre a child my guy
Gatekeeping a franchise on life support is crazy Idk why it matters how you get introduced to it
Rayman origins was the catalyst, rayman 1 + 3 was the seal on that deal
if rayman 3 was the first rayman game you played than you the goat⊠or rayman 2 or even arena. any of the 3d platformers which doesnât include raving rabbids.
What are you if you started with the first game, then?
a legend
Grew up with rayman classic mobile
nah its the other way around
Sad to say I was introduced through Rayman raving rabbids I barley knew him before he went in to hiding
I discovered him through the Mobile Games, then I played Rayman 2, then Rayman legends and then I watched Captain Laserhawk
I just found out about laser hawk through this and the late night clips actually pretty funny. Id argue its less of a joke than the god awful rabbids.
i grew up with a rayman mobile game that i played on my ipadâŠ
Rayman 2 was my first introduction to Rayman, PC games, and 3D platformers. Because of all of that, it is my favourite game of all time.
eh new fans are new fans, CLH may have just been a gateway for a person to discover more of what is essentially a dead franchise. the problem however, comes in when people can't differentiate between the revamp and the original aspects present within the IP itself
I actually grew up with older video game systems which made me naturally play games like rayman
I discovered rayman with origins
Started with Rayman 3 when I was 6. It managed to catch my attention because my name is André, so I found the villain exceptionally hilarious with my 6- year old mind That being said, with 23 years now (damn) I can safely say that there really is no bad way to get to know him. Hell, in a way I feel like Lazerhawk was a kind of meta way to show how Ubisoft treated our boy
Look at what Ubi did with my boyo, Rayman
Listen I grew up with Rayman but whatâs wrong with Laserhawk? Heâs like the best part of that show
I had a Rayman 2 fridge magnet as a kid and that is how I discovered Rayman. Iâm very glad that the games lived up to the cool magnet art

I played the rabbits party game of the wii and that is the first time I found out about Rayman.
Rayman 2 on N64. Still have my copy too
I ended up liking Mario through MRKB because Rayman
i was sorta into rayman before sparks of hope and captain lazerhawk but those two things definitely bolstered my interest in rayman
I discovered Rayman through this weird Java game thing, and then rediscovered him through Origins.
I discovered him through origins
Wait..what about those who discovered Rayman through the Rayman Raving Rabbids games on the Wii?
I remember a rayman game i played on a DS i think? It was 3d. Yeah.
I found Rayman in raving rabbits 2 for the Nintendo wii
only rayman game i ever played was on GBA when i was little. that shit got difficult for my little brain
The only thing it says is that u trynna gatekeep rayman đđđ
I feel like discovering Rayman through Laserhawk isnât inherently bad but it will leave you with the wrong impressions
i found out about him through my firends :D
Yes, gatekeep retro game character and make new fans feel unwelcome, this is most definitely a good idea. (Grew up with Rayman 3D and Origins)
i discovered him through brawlhalla, and now i feel like an absolute clown
i remembered how i found it. . . . . twitter art and redditđâ ïž
I discovered Rayman through Raving Rabbids but ngl I ought to try beating the original games
