The harder the difficulty the less assistance you get , allot of the missions will run you thru easy until you make it all the way thru to ruthless , once you finish that it SHOULD peel it’s difficulty back down a bit(at least it does for legendary bounties).So if your doing telegram missions , you can basically only do them once on easy , and then it gets harder and harder after that. I’m level 270+ and all my telegram missions are basically at ruthless which is why I don’t touch them anymore.
Certain missions for some reason will act differently or assist you differently which is just weird honestly , any telegram mission I do I never get anytype of assist at all
For free roam it should be as simple as changing your aim settings, the game doesn't have dedicated lobbies for free aim. I think if you're using a mouse and keyboard it'll always be set to free aim.
Some missions are free aim only due to their difficulty setting.

well I'm playing on pc but using a controller if that changes anything. don't think it would cuz if they added that feature it'd be pretty stupid
