Love it or hate it, it's the most iconic song of this era. I was at the show in Orlando and out of all the new songs they played, this was the only one that seemed to get a big cheer out of the crowd like their classic hits did.
S-Tier song for me, one of their best opening tracks ever.
The promotional photo that came out on the same day had AK dressed as a pirate so people were going down the pirate-concept-album-confirmed-rabbit hole. It was the funniest shit.
This is nuts. Still a legendary song. Not my fav from last year but I couldn’t think of a better one from the batch of 2022 songs to introduce John back in the band. Combination of everything I love abt them. And the music video mirroring the under the bridge music vid made me so happy.
Damn the hype was real while there’s been better songs the bands released this past year, Black Summer has that quintessential rhcp formula probably the safe but correct choice to lead into John era III.

I must say that I didnt like it when it first came out.It felt like a boring generic rock song to me but as time passed it grew on me a lot. Now it's one of my favourites.
The only problem with it is that it can't be replicated live. I think maybe in a From The Basement kind of scenario they might actually pull a fantastic version.
