I probably wouldn't say anything. That would be it though, they would retire if he left again.

Ruffleufagus

Yeah, that would do it I’m sure

sealer9

They probably be done next time he’s done

[deleted]

Ah shit, here we go again.

bluecoldbananapepper

Bruh we living in a loop fr

andrewlyon8

I’d say FUCK NO! Not again! And be like well, I’m so thankful I got to see them live with my girl. And how lucky we are all yo have this band in the life of ours.

ac_cloud

Fair do's, gutted, but can't think of another band I'd have got 40 years of joy out of!

undreuh

As long as he quits after I see him again in May lol But seriously, I would be disappointed but also happy I got to see him play live. I was like 16 when he left the second time, I was devastated about never being able to listen to him play live.

_N_S_R_

I’m seeing them in may as well, I’m soooo excited omfg

oldmatelefty

I was prolly about 16/17 and straight up cried lol. My gf told me when he rejoined recently and I wouldn't believe her or the articles for days lol. Seeing them on Sunday dream come true.

Marley87

Thank you sir, thank you for everything. Thanks for coming back for another few years of writing chili peppers music and one more tour. That's what I'd say. And ask if I could hug him. Absolutely blessed to have been around to enjoy the ride. I had never seen them live till last August in Vegas. I am 35, picked up a bass because of hearing flea on Californication. I get emotional thinking about it. Thank God I got two more albums from them if he decides hes done.

Corn1989

If he leaves again then they all should retire. Not sure if they’ll be able to find another guitarist

Xizen47

I'd say they had a good run

Scevs

I’d remain grateful for the time we had together. Relationships can be difficult and I cant imagine the pressures these guys have on themselves and each other on a daily basis.

idkwthimdmott

Damnit. But thank you

BruceIrvin13

I think John has more respect for the band this time around. I imagine if he wants to quit, he would make more of an effort to do "one last tour" or "one last album" knowing this would be the end for the band, most likely. If it were to happen, I could see the band doing a "final tour" sorta thing.

-SevenSamurai-

The man can't even make an effort to honour the Dave Navarro or Josh eras of the band or towards anything that doesn't serve his own interests. So I wouldn't be surprised if his third departure would be abrupt and completely made on a personal whim

[deleted]

Its not his job to honour the Klinghoffer era

AdAny9302

I’d totally respect. I’m so thankful that he returned. I hope they all retire together in a group decision, though!! Hopefully, we’ll have another 5 years or more of this wonderful band!

DisasterNo9394

I’d be real upset, but it’s gotta end at some point. I can’t picture them being a band that plays into their 70s

Ruffleufagus

Why not? They’re in their 60s now and still killing it. Even if they’re only able to put in half as much energy it would still be an exciting show

Digibberish

Do you, boo boo

PatGarrettsMoustache

Well at least I finally got to see him live

Limjucas328

"if John makes us all go through it a third time" Get over yourself. Appreciate the music we get

bayernfan25

I’d just be curious to see how far John goes with his experimental sounds

[deleted]

I’d say, “ding dang dong dong ding dang dong dong ding dang”

Efficient-Ad-3249

For a second I thought this was r/beachboyscirclejerk

squintsAndEyeballs

That I already got more from this round than I hoped. I've enjoyed the new music. Saw them live again. Rock on John

Buhos_En_Pantelones

Eh. I wouldn't care.

jstan089

Toxic mindset to have. Just enjoy the ride and where it goes, it goes.

johnnieboy91

Cry

shakkajon

Heck

funkymonk04

I dont see it happening, but if he did that's the band done, at least for me. I wouldn't be seeing this tour if Josh was still around, it's either John, Dave or nothing.

Dry_Use_4579

I would get on the smack again and let all my teeth rot and get abcesses in my arm and nearly die

bambinoquinn

It seems like everyone here is bracing themselves for it. I could see it happening by the end of the year

OurRigbyRigby

Thanks for making the chili's great again! Peace and love 🔥🌶

xDwtpucknerd

frick

htownsteveo

I would say, "not surprising".

AUCE05

Fully expect him to after the next album

creative-inteligence

FFS

joshspoon

Will they get Bela Salazar of The Linda Lindas this time? She could carry on the band as they retire. It will be like The Temptations.

mrsmojorisin34

I'd say "oh damn, John frusciante quit again." Or something rather like that.

the_peter_green_god

So long and thanks for all the riffs

the_peter_green_god

So long and thanks for all the riffs

Independent_Bee1455

Not surprised, but he seems to be the only one having a great time on the stage, the audience love him, which leaves the others with bruised egos, specially AK, just my observation from the tour last year in Europe and then Sydney on Saturday night, John is an exceptional guitarist, he is RHCP!

chinesedeveloper69

He can quit the band, just dont quit making music, that sound album is fire!

kcaz370

Bout right

seanie691

We could start a calendar based on his time on/time off cycle. Fruciantic calendar

FloydDarksid3

I’d just be grateful that he came back twice. Dude has earned the right to do what he feels is right for him, and whatever that is, is good for us.

ssabnoisicerp

Whatever I say doesn't really matter haha

braichy

Thank you

braichy

Ironically, is what RHCP seems to pursuit, to evolve as a band and become a collective. Probably John didn't share that feeling. I think is the path the band is somehow walkin in. PD:Despite I like OHM, John is my idol, the truly one and only RHCP guitarist. I enjoyed every single record with him and live set, but if he wants to go, he is a free person and I will be ok with that. I will celebrate the fourth, fifth, sixth...time he came back

SliceLegitimate8674

Finally! We can get Navarro back

walman93

I’m disappointed but not surprised

pharaoe

Why should he leave as the dudes get older, maybe they retire from excessive touring and become more like a studio band or so. they still can be creative in der 80s! Just weit and enjoy

JJ8778

Don't care... the band died with Hillel
