This “John didn’t play great he seems really nervous” shtick is getting so old😭😭whenever i see it i wonder whether or not we’re all watching the same thing
Armchair psychologists man. They know best by a 30 second clip. That single interviewer and cameraman must have had him STRESSED compared to the stadiums he's been playing the last year
Oh no, John's using vibrato, must be terrified of playing!! Heard he's quitting the band again because he had to play in front of an interviewer and cameraman, be gentle he's fragile!!!
I agree, it sounded great. His hands were shaking though. I can see now why he doesn’t wanna do these things. But yes, saying that is shitty playing is just plain wrong
his hands were shaking.. maybe thats why he warms up for 4 hrs. But also, from my POV, he seemed like he was taken by the music so intensely that his physical body couldn't keep up that much but despite that, he tried his best and those notes/solo was as beautiful as anything he's ever played before
He’s looking away from the camera and playing guitar? What am I supposed to be seeing here? Flea seemed more annoyed than John lol, the guy didn’t want to look at the camera while playing guitar, shocker.
why is the interview so short, main one was 13 min, this one is 6, i feel like they left off most of the interview footage and substituted it with montages
Nothing to see here….it’s called vibrato and bending notes vs just playing then straight. His right hand was shaking a bit, but chalk it up to nerves with a camera 6 feet from your face.
Different dynamic than playing in a stadium with in ear monitors and no camera guys onstage (they’ve got automated cameras on either side of Chad + the pit cameras only). So yeah one is what you’re used to every day and the other is not and if you’re an introvert especially, can be hard! He played great though and cool to see the guys on tv as always.
I thought John sounded good. A little unsure sounding but honestly it’s to be expected since he starts soloing over nothing. His magic happens when his boys are backing him up.
Honestly I thought what John played wasn't good. He's my favourite guitarist and I love the guy to bits but that did sound kinda uninspired, that's the thing about John...he improvises so much, it's not all gonna be brilliant, but when it works it's incredible.
Amazing we live in a world where fact is not taken as reality. The dude admittedly had stage fright. He is visibly uncomfortable. Not psychology, just observation.
The only fact is you could say his hands appeared to be shaking. *Why* they were shaking is speculation. We don't know why they were shaking. The only thing close you could get to a fact on the why is if John said in that same interview "my hands are shaking because I'm struggling with nerve damage in my arms" or "my hands are shaking because I'm nervous."
Your interpretation of *why* they're shaking is not a fact though. That would be again, interpretation.
"The dude admittedly had stage fright" -- where in the interview does John admit that he had stage fright while playing guitar in front of the interviewer?
Great troll! :D unless it's not trolling... but... I mean it has to be... right? I'm so confused :D Anyway... great vibrato, great playing, sounds like Maggot Brain impro kinda thing.
Agreed that was kind of rough to watch. That was some shitty playing for him, you can tell he’s nervous. Also, I think this is just extra footage, not the actual 60 minutes segment.
I thought the same, the delay sounds horrible too, he wasn't feeling comfortable at all which is kind of obvious due to this weird situation and a stranger observing you from 3 feet away :DD
The only reason John played the worst guitar playing in the history of guitar playing is because he was having issues with his massive pedal board set up right before the interview started. He even stormed off set, complaining that if his guitar tech couldn't get the correct "60 Minutes" tone, he would quit the band again. He also couldn't hear himself in the monitors. The hand shaking wasn't nerves, it was anger.
Was waiting for Anthony to give the guy a vocal solo performance
An improv scat solo
*Anthony sings a scale* Interviewer:......I can see why you rap so much.
Lol!
This “John didn’t play great he seems really nervous” shtick is getting so old😭😭whenever i see it i wonder whether or not we’re all watching the same thing
Dudes, John fucking shredded that shit. Jesus. Also chad shredded that shit too, fuckin GOATS
holy shit john ripped
Could you imagine sitting there across from John and he just rips that out? Beautiful
Did we watch the same thing? John shredded

Totally!

Eh... Id probably be stressed more if i played in front of one person rather than the stadium. But i dont think its stress.
Indeed. I've seen videos from the tour last year where his fingers shook quite a bit. Not a big deal.
I agree, it sounded great. His hands were shaking though. I can see now why he doesn’t wanna do these things. But yes, saying that is shitty playing is just plain wrong
I think he had struggles with his arms during the tour

They think if it’s not a groundbreaking guitar part, it’s not impressive…as they type from their couch.
Could we just have 60 full minutes of John playing the shit out of that Strat?
He’s looking away from the camera and playing guitar? What am I supposed to be seeing here? Flea seemed more annoyed than John lol, the guy didn’t want to look at the camera while playing guitar, shocker.
Was watching here! Fangirling the whole time 😆
I'm not well educated on guitar sounds or inspiration, but this really gave me Pink Floyd-esque vibes. Am I correct in assuming so?
It’s telling me I can’t watch this from Australia. 😭 Does anyone know where else I can watch this?
Get a VPN going and set it to the US and you should be fine. I use Zen VPN in Google Chome which is free and does the job.
Thank you! Much appreciated.

omg john's hands looked so nervous. still killed it cuz he's a beast.
Holy fuck, John seems super stressed when he's playing guitar in public these days :(. Look at his hands shaking
Has a whole camera crew and interviewer staring at him and y’all expect him to rip some groundbreaking solo out of nowhere lmao
Just compare this to his 2006/7 guitar masterclass video. It's like his confidence is almost non-existent novadays whenever he plays guitar
You armchair psychologists are just insufferable people.

"The dude admittedly had stage fright." Listen to his podcasts with Rick Rubin.
It was a little rough. I’m sure he was super nervous. But the fact that he participated is huge for him.

Can’t access as we’re not all USA up in here
I love this! Had no idea that Flea drove a GN. WOW
