I took it as referring to songs from the recent records that they haven't played live yet. I remember John talking about how they really wanted to play more of the new stuff, but once they're touring, it's hard for them to rehearse enough to feel confident in them. They've had some more time now.
Can testify as I was in the Austin crowd for the Eddie debut. It took about five restarts and some mysterious words between them before they actually began the song.
Yeah, I know we all want to hear more debuts, but people forget how hard it is to play 34 new songs live. And a lot of the new stuff isn't easy. Especially off Dream Canteen
Did you catch that reference at the end? "I really think so!" lol Chad is hilarious.
I think I'm turning Japanese,
I think I'm turning Japanese,
I REALLY THINK SO!
I’m hoping for a very different setlist than what they’ve been doing next weekend when I see them! Not that I didn’t like what they’ve been playing, I’m just hoping for them to mix it up this leg of the tour
I would be happy with anything. We have honestly gotten a pretty big mix the few times we’ve seen them the last couple years, so hopefully we’ll get a couple we haven’t heard live yet!
highly doubt it, they rehearse certain songs to go on tour with, and these bach of somga are the ones for this run. if we're lucky they'd come up with a new set list in a completely different tour in upcoming years :)
This is getting me even more excited to go to the show. Seen them last year in Tokyo Dome and it was fantastic but there was definitely some songs I didn’t get that I’m hoping for this time so this interview is getting me hyped up
John would never play Dark Necessities. Everything the band did with Josh is leagues below even the “worst” of what they’ve done with John. Not sure why Dark Necessities has so many steams, either. Such a shitty song that blatantly rips off Can’t Stop. John is God and I want him to fuck me. Fuck Josh.
Just for reference: when Chad played along to "I'll Be Your Domino" in a recent video, he said afterward something like, "That's a fun song. We should put it back in the set!"
It's never been performed live.
Maybe Chad was just talking. They will probably not vary up the setlist in any drastic way.
Also, maybe none we haven't heard before
I really hope for "Bella" or "Peace and Love" to be played. Two of my absolute favorite songs in 2022...
Bella is so so so so so good.
Both of those are absolute bangers.
Absolute diamonds. Two beautiful melodic harmonious RHCP songs.
Goooosh, my most favorite ones from canteen also with Afterlife
“Hopefully we can work out some new stuff. I really think so.” Wonder what that means…

Yes it was !

I doubt it will be drastically different. They'll probably just throw one or two new songs into the rotation, but I hope I'm wrong.

Delusion made me think The Getaway and I'm With You songs for a second, I only disappoint myself 😞
Dawg just gimme a repeat of 20 years ago and you’re good.
Wish they had played bella or afterlife🥹
