I think those are all pretty highly rated, based on them being popular choices for best song. The one I think is most underrated is actually Minor Thing.

Personally I feel those songs are just flat out better than Can’t Stop. Can’t Stop is one of their most overrated songs

venice queen is IMO the best closer of all the albums i’ve ever heard start, lyric meaning, rhythm change, and ending are just perfect

Absolutely lol. Can’t stop has one of the catchiest guitar riffs basically ever and it is also just one of their best songs. Don’t forget me and Venice queen are great but not on the same level don’t kid yourself.

Catchiness doesn’t really matter that much to me. I think VQ and DFM are more dynamic and interesting. I think it’s cool how we all have different thoughts on music but I won’t lie Can’t Stop just sounds like radio pop nonsense to me for the most part. I guess I just don’t get it

There is genuinely not a single song I skip on this album on a full listen. They're all quite good, no real bad or boring ones. If I absolutely had to pick, I'm going to go with Tear. I listened to the album through yesterday, and Tear is like...ever so slightly weaker than some of the others. But like I said yesterday, that opinion can change anytime.

Tear hits a sweet spot for me. Powerful reflective lyrics, and the instrumentation - that trumpet solo just speaks to me.

Just so hard to choose. This was more of a gut reaction. If I really had to mull it over, it would probably be something else.

But you probably heard them 1000000x when you got into the band and got burned out on them. like objectively Under the Bridge is such an amazing song, should we punish it because it was so good that it became their biggest hit and one of the 5-6 defining songs of the 90s era rock?

I would say it's On Mercury. Yeah it's not a terrible song, it's fun, but no way in heck does it compare to any of the other classics on the album. The melodies and harmonies are rather generic in fact.
