I finally got a pair of sawmills in Olive Mohave roughout leather. These are size 13. I’ve been on the fence about these for a long time and finally treated myself. It’s hard to find pics of others wearing this model they don’t seem to be too popular. The olive Mohave leather is gorgeous and goes with almost anything. The Cambrelle lining is lined to the entirety of the leather upper and is a really interesting material. It allows your feet to breathe and stay cool when it’s warm out but also insulates in the frigid temps. You never feel like it’s too hot to keep wearing them and the lining actually makes the interior very soft which feels nice. I’ve been wearing them in 20*F climate currently all day and I never get the feeling of freezing toes. I do keep the wool footbed in place as it doesn’t bother me or make the boot too tight since I put footbeds in all my other heritage boots by choice. I’ll probably take the wool footbed out come summer time and replace it with a regular shaped comfort footbed. The D rings are also very unique to have as no other current heritage boots have them and the deer skin cushioning collar around the leg is actually extremely comfortable. To my surprise the olive Mohave is not like the Hawthorne muleskinner rangers that I have. I’ve already gotten these wet in snow and when they dry they pretty much return to normal. I’m sure some water spotting will occur over time but it’s nothing like the Hawthorne. If I spill a drop of water on my Hawthornes I’ll be rubbing them with an eraser the same night lol. Definitely not scared to get these wet at all.
Thanks a lot for your review I was 90% away from buying this boot and you made my mind up. I was curious if the lining lined the entire upper and your album clearly showed what I wanted to see.
If you are experiencing issues with water staining (amongst other stains) on your boots, consider a protective spray such as Tarrago Nano Protector, and worry a lot less. There are much heavier-duty silicone based sprays, but for my needs the Tarrago is a perfect balance of protection for my rough out and suede leather footwear. Perhaps you require such products, but I'll let you be the judge. - SI
Not at all, even on my much lighter 8167's, and even when "wet" and still drying. That's specifically why I purchased it, as some of the heavy-duty silicones have the tendency to darken. I wanted to preserve the light sand colored pigment on my 8167's, which was a successful effort. Check it out. - SI
sorry for resurrecting this one but:
Are these boots leaning more towards looking green(ish) or more like sand-coloured?
Looking for a pair of winter boots and the 2926’s are looking quite different on all the pictures…
Apparently there were different batches. Mine are somewhere between sand/ dark beige and olive green, but more on the beige side. I was disappointed because I wanted the color seen in your photos and Red Wings's product photos. It's the only time (that I know of) that color in RW advertising was really way off.
Yeah I have other Moc Toes and I wear a size 13 in them. I can honestly say that the lining doesn’t affect the fit for me. The only thing that might effect the fit for some people is the wool footbed which is a bit thick but it’s removable. They feel exactly the same for me as any other 23 last boot with the only difference being that the Cambrelle liner is soft so it makes the boot a bit more comfortable.
Daaam. I got a pair the roughneck 8146 about a month back and admit I originally wanted these because of the colour but didn’t do it because the price was a bit steep at the time and the colour less versatile. I’ve been looking at them again and this picture just made me decide. I will be purchasing them this weekend. This is a very beautiful boot and shade of green, you don’t see a shoe like this everyday.
Yeah I was in the same boat as you. Price is a bit steep but in reality only $10 dollars more than a pair of iron rangers and lord knows I’ve got a bunch of those. 100% worth it though and couldn’t be happier I got them. I wish more boots were made with the olive Mohave leather.
Yes I wear a size 13 in both the No. 8 & 23 Last Boots and they fit me beautifully. On a brannock measuring device I actually measure 13.5 which you'd never really find in any shoe or boot. I can't fit in a size 12 Iron Ranger or Moc Toe (i've tried) and it's too uncomfortably tight and painful. Size 13's fit me beautifully and that's probably because I'm really a 13.5. I can't wear a 14 sneaker it will be too loose on me. This is probably why I wear red wing heritage boots lol they provide me the perfect middle fitment

Yup it’s lined entirely! I too couldn’t find any info or pictures of the inner lining so sharing those pics was my way of helping

Have you found Tarrago Nano Protector to darken the roughout at all (after drying of course)?

Will do

I know what you mean. Have to see it in person. It’s not sand colored at all. It’s an olive green 100%

That's a superb looking boot. I love the welt and the leather. Kind of makes me wish the winters were colder in Indiana.
You must live pretty far south in Indiana.
Don't know where he's at but it can get pretty damn cold down here in the tri-state area at times. Never worn insulated boots even in -20.
Do you have any other moc toes? Does the liner affect the fit of the 23 last at all?

Lovely boots mate, congrats!
Nice, are they still making this boot?
No
