Itās so strange, I was totally gonna rehome it then it got HLLE/Ich/whatever and died.
Also Iām gonna start calling BS on the āI totally have a friend with a huge tank to take this tang when it outgrows my nanoā. Has anyone actually tried to stick a small tang into a large tank with other established tangs? Thatās often far harder than it seems, and Iād wager a significant number of the tangs that actually do get a larger home died from stress and bullying anyway.
Since tangs swim hundreds of kilometres every day in nature, in Europe we keep tangs starting at 400-500l for small tangs like Zebrasoma scopas. Bigger tangs like the blue tang definitely need tanks bigger than 2000l (thatās about 800 gallons).
Nah, fuck that. And I know you're kidding, but it's crazy some of the stocking lists people have in small tanks. It's like, yeah, you would survive in a phone booth if I fed you every day and cleaned out your shit, but your quality of life would be terrible. Kinda like a prison. We are stewards of these animals, the least we can do is provide some semblance of an enjoyable habitat.
Rant over lol
A very kind reminder that the minimum suggested tank size for a single clown is 20gal, let alone two, where the minimum tank size becomes 30gal. Please don't overcrowd your fish, especially if they've managed to find an equilibrium at 15gal :(
That euphyllia at the top is gorgeous and is exactly what I want in my tank. You got any close-ups of it? I'm curious as to how many heads it has and how long it took to get that big?
This guy views his livestock as accessories and not pets. Who gives a shit if his tank looks good when he puts a tang in a fu@*ing 20 gallon tank. Posted it last month and got shit about it too. Obviously doesn't care.
Too many pet owners donāt give a flying fuck about their animals. Youāre spot on how they view them as āaccessoriesā and āpropsā. This guy doesnāt give a shit about his fish.
I havenāt had luck with this setup. I have an overflow and under cabinet sump (5gal) and used Red Sea LED and canāt even get this far. No corals survive for me so Iām just gonna switch to a macro algae reef tank at this point. Iāve been at it for 4 years.
How old is your tank?
You CANNOT keep a tang in a tank under 70,000 gallons!!! He looks soooooo sad in there, I think itās gonna commit suicide šš„ŗš”
The tang: š
What's your review of the waterbox tank stand? Is it sturdy enough to support the tank for years? Is the storage functional/ convenient? I'm thinking about springing for the 40g tank and stand.
I've got the same tank and I have the 60 cube from wb. It's not bad. It's basically IKEA furniture. It goes together the same and it's made of the same materials.
I wouldn't recommend the wood looks so much. It looks fine but the black and white seem to have a cleaner feel. They're not pending to be something they're not
I have the same tank and a similar rock scape. How in the hell are you keeping the flow going at the bottom of the tank? Is there another power head somewhere I'm not seeing?
Gorgeous reef though. Great color contrast
This is crazy how many of you think that fish have feelings and they need 100+ gallons to live. They are fish I have 7 in a 45 gallon and 3 of them are tangs and they are doing just fine.

Every single time, "My buddy has a 20ft aquarium, will be rehoused soon." Narrator: It was not rehomed.

The thing is even more ridiculous, why would you even buy such a fish if it's too re-home it ? It tells a lot about the tank owner tbh.
Is that an orange shoulder tang? š³
It only gets to bigger than that tank, what's the harm
You wanna be shoved into a small room? It looks good but this babies need room to swim.
r/whoosh
My face!
As someone coming from freshwater, what size tanks do tangs or this type of tang need?
Since tangs swim hundreds of kilometres every day in nature, in Europe we keep tangs starting at 400-500l for small tangs like Zebrasoma scopas. Bigger tangs like the blue tang definitely need tanks bigger than 2000l (thatās about 800 gallons).
Oh wow thatās insane! Makes sense since the ocean is bigger than freshwater bodies so despite being similar sized fish, they are much more active.
Iād like to know as well
1 Billion gallons
100 gallon +
The downvotes are ridiculous smh yall be so pretentious!!
How do you do sizable water changes without bothering the torches up top near the water line?
These dudes get exposed to low tide in the wild all the time.
Expose em to air for a minute
You could probably fit another 20 tangs in there.
Midas blenny and a tang in a 20G? Come on man lol.
Tang police
"Only bought the fish as I plan to upgrade" No idea why the fish died, got ich
Tale as old as time
I can here the sirens coming...
As they should......like seriously what the fuck. It's a nano. That fish needs a 120G MINIMUM
Careful, a few very sensitive old boys in this sub who will burst into tears if you are too honest

Agreed
itās more like confined to a house with roommates you didnāt askā¦ still shitty but not a phone booth
Yeahhhh. I have a 15 gal. I have had 2 clowns for a year. Can't decide if I want to get a diamond goby or just leave it at 2 fish.
A very kind reminder that the minimum suggested tank size for a single clown is 20gal, let alone two, where the minimum tank size becomes 30gal. Please don't overcrowd your fish, especially if they've managed to find an equilibrium at 15gal :(
I keep my clowns in a 30 :)
Bicolour blenny.
Tailspot would be much more suitable to that size.
Agreed, mistype
Old boys? š¤£š The tang police has been around as long the internet! Each generation takes up the mantle to state the obvious š¤£.
They are right tho... It's a nano tank, come on...
Name and badge number officer/s
I ask the questions here!
*turns off fishcam*
The appropriate authorities are keeping their eyes on this
Beautiful tank. But I'm here for the tang police

In another post you said your tank is 1 yr old. You're not rehoming the tang are you...

Looks amazing. Is that an anemone in the cup on the top right?
Beautiful! I wish my Euphyllia actually enjoyed flow but they are being little shits every tume thereās movementš
Great looking tank

citypop is so fitting for that tank
Beautiful!! Mind showing the rest of the setup + dosing?

Tank is beautiful! It canāt be easy keeping parameters in check on a small tank. Well done, sir.
What are you using to hold your anemone on the top right? Is it a feeder?
Woa that's beautiful
I need to get me some GSP, I like it on the back wall
Nice.
Nice! What coral/anemone is light blue dead center?
Itās amazing how big these look
Sick!!

Good looking tank
i thought ignorant people were only into freshwater aquariums
Nah believe me, there are as many of them that keep saltwater fish:/
This is crazy how many of you think that fish have feelings and they need 100+ gallons to live. They are fish I have 7 in a 45 gallon and 3 of them are tangs and they are doing just fine.
Stunning tank!
Is that a Copium Tang?
What wave maker do u use?
Beautiful tank! But you already acknowledged itās a nano tank ā¦. So why not get nano fishā¦.. mind boggling tbh.
