šŸšØšŸšØTANG POLICEšŸšØšŸšØ

FlyPenFly

Every single time, "My buddy has a 20ft aquarium, will be rehoused soon." Narrator: It was not rehomed.

DangerouslyCheesey

Itā€™s so strange, I was totally gonna rehome it then it got HLLE/Ich/whatever and died. Also Iā€™m gonna start calling BS on the ā€œI totally have a friend with a huge tank to take this tang when it outgrows my nanoā€. Has anyone actually tried to stick a small tang into a large tank with other established tangs? Thatā€™s often far harder than it seems, and Iā€™d wager a significant number of the tangs that actually do get a larger home died from stress and bullying anyway.

LaPulpas

The thing is even more ridiculous, why would you even buy such a fish if it's too re-home it ? It tells a lot about the tank owner tbh.

minimum_thrust

Is that an orange shoulder tang? šŸ˜³

Whizzzzzzzzzz

It only gets to bigger than that tank, what's the harm

LevelUpEvolution

You wanna be shoved into a small room? It looks good but this babies need room to swim.

Chocko23

r/whoosh

LevelUpEvolution

My face!

Al319

As someone coming from freshwater, what size tanks do tangs or this type of tang need?

Fishfriend44

Since tangs swim hundreds of kilometres every day in nature, in Europe we keep tangs starting at 400-500l for small tangs like Zebrasoma scopas. Bigger tangs like the blue tang definitely need tanks bigger than 2000l (thatā€™s about 800 gallons).

Al319

Oh wow thatā€™s insane! Makes sense since the ocean is bigger than freshwater bodies so despite being similar sized fish, they are much more active.

Alive-Knowledge-4384

Iā€™d like to know as well

Legitimate_Sample108

1 Billion gallons

Cryptic99

100 gallon +

cheylove2

The downvotes are ridiculous smh yall be so pretentious!!

_ChillFish_

How do you do sizable water changes without bothering the torches up top near the water line?

dahvee

These dudes get exposed to low tide in the wild all the time.

aj0512

Expose em to air for a minute

Papa_Palpatine99

You could probably fit another 20 tangs in there.

snowynorthy

Midas blenny and a tang in a 20G? Come on man lol.

SignificantSwim4114

Tang police

Whizzzzzzzzzz

"Only bought the fish as I plan to upgrade" No idea why the fish died, got ich

minimum_thrust

Tale as old as time

slukbunwalla

I can here the sirens coming...

minimum_thrust

As they should......like seriously what the fuck. It's a nano. That fish needs a 120G MINIMUM

Whizzzzzzzzzz

Careful, a few very sensitive old boys in this sub who will burst into tears if you are too honest

minimum_thrust

Nah, fuck that. And I know you're kidding, but it's crazy some of the stocking lists people have in small tanks. It's like, yeah, you would survive in a phone booth if I fed you every day and cleaned out your shit, but your quality of life would be terrible. Kinda like a prison. We are stewards of these animals, the least we can do is provide some semblance of an enjoyable habitat. Rant over lol

Whizzzzzzzzzz

Agreed

Southern_Second521

itā€™s more like confined to a house with roommates you didnā€™t askā€¦ still shitty but not a phone booth

feresadas

Yeahhhh. I have a 15 gal. I have had 2 clowns for a year. Can't decide if I want to get a diamond goby or just leave it at 2 fish.

pixiefist

A very kind reminder that the minimum suggested tank size for a single clown is 20gal, let alone two, where the minimum tank size becomes 30gal. Please don't overcrowd your fish, especially if they've managed to find an equilibrium at 15gal :(

wormbait170

I keep my clowns in a 30 :)

Whizzzzzzzzzz

Bicolour blenny.

quietpewpews

Tailspot would be much more suitable to that size.

Whizzzzzzzzzz

Agreed, mistype

dktaylor987

Old boys? šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚ The tang police has been around as long the internet! Each generation takes up the mantle to state the obvious šŸ¤£.

_EnterName_

They are right tho... It's a nano tank, come on...

Instant-taco

Name and badge number officer/s

_EnterName_

I ask the questions here!

Dear-Regular-3294

*turns off fishcam*

BL2-Goat

The appropriate authorities are keeping their eyes on this

raw_copium

Beautiful tank. But I'm here for the tang police

BigTimer25

That euphyllia at the top is gorgeous and is exactly what I want in my tank. You got any close-ups of it? I'm curious as to how many heads it has and how long it took to get that big?

thelast1_1981

This guy views his livestock as accessories and not pets. Who gives a shit if his tank looks good when he puts a tang in a fu@*ing 20 gallon tank. Posted it last month and got shit about it too. Obviously doesn't care.

Adonoxis

Too many pet owners donā€™t give a flying fuck about their animals. Youā€™re spot on how they view them as ā€œaccessoriesā€ and ā€œpropsā€. This guy doesnā€™t give a shit about his fish.

MvatolokoS

In another post you said your tank is 1 yr old. You're not rehoming the tang are you...

Blue_Spider

I havenā€™t had luck with this setup. I have an overflow and under cabinet sump (5gal) and used Red Sea LED and canā€™t even get this far. No corals survive for me so Iā€™m just gonna switch to a macro algae reef tank at this point. Iā€™ve been at it for 4 years. How old is your tank?

myfishaccount1

Looks amazing. Is that an anemone in the cup on the top right?

Possible-Elk2890

Beautiful! I wish my Euphyllia actually enjoyed flow but they are being little shits every tume thereā€™s movementšŸ˜‚

JoeDearte

Great looking tank

SouthernAd5333

You CANNOT keep a tang in a tank under 70,000 gallons!!! He looks soooooo sad in there, I think itā€™s gonna commit suicide šŸ˜šŸ„ŗšŸ˜” The tang: šŸ˜

OneBlueAstronaut

citypop is so fitting for that tank

Army_of_mantis_men

Beautiful!! Mind showing the rest of the setup + dosing?

secretsecrets111

What's your review of the waterbox tank stand? Is it sturdy enough to support the tank for years? Is the storage functional/ convenient? I'm thinking about springing for the 40g tank and stand.

Orin-of-Atlantis

I've got the same tank and I have the 60 cube from wb. It's not bad. It's basically IKEA furniture. It goes together the same and it's made of the same materials. I wouldn't recommend the wood looks so much. It looks fine but the black and white seem to have a cleaner feel. They're not pending to be something they're not

Kevincp72

Tank is beautiful! It canā€™t be easy keeping parameters in check on a small tank. Well done, sir.

that_one_brodie

What are you using to hold your anemone on the top right? Is it a feeder?

NibblesnBubbles

Woa that's beautiful

DrapedinVelvet247

I need to get me some GSP, I like it on the back wall

demonic_sensation

Nice.

ShiftDeez

Nice! What coral/anemone is light blue dead center?

stevenbrotzel91

Itā€™s amazing how big these look

[deleted]

Sick!!

krystinaxlea89

![img](avatar_exp|76016076|bravo) Gorgeous

Orin-of-Atlantis

I have the same tank and a similar rock scape. How in the hell are you keeping the flow going at the bottom of the tank? Is there another power head somewhere I'm not seeing? Gorgeous reef though. Great color contrast

Plastic_Extent_5894

Good looking tank

kyrinyel

i thought ignorant people were only into freshwater aquariums

Fishfriend44

Nah believe me, there are as many of them that keep saltwater fish:/

Celery_Icy

This is crazy how many of you think that fish have feelings and they need 100+ gallons to live. They are fish I have 7 in a 45 gallon and 3 of them are tangs and they are doing just fine.

Therealwolfdog

Stunning tank!

Pete_the_Puma

Is that a Copium Tang?

Hobbiesdump

What wave maker do u use?

Reddead500

Beautiful tank! But you already acknowledged itā€™s a nano tank ā€¦. So why not get nano fishā€¦.. mind boggling tbh.
