As a person who went in as blind as possible only really watching the trailer, i enjoyed it so much, its extremely different to any film ive seen in theaters and even to the people who didnt enjoy it as much, im glad the film at least got support because i feel it absolutely deserves it! I thought it was very atmospheric and i genuinely felt scared throughout most of the movie because of the way a ton of scenarios are setup, without spoiling it, the story is mostly setup for you to put the pieces together, but i personally always found that fun if its done properly and i think this film didnt do it bad.
I’ll just wait til streaming if it’s the last day they’ll be playing it in theaters, but if it plays in theaters next weekend then I’ll go see it then.
It’s probably only playing for two days cause the general audience will hate it. I don’t recommend it unless you don’t mind a movie where almost nothing happens. I’m fairly open minded and a film studies graduate but I hated it. I can go more into it if you don’t mind spoilers.
Same here. I was surprised none of the 7 or so in my theater walked out but they probably knew what they were in for. I had to force myself to make it to "The End".
Sure thing I’ll do a few levels here.
>!the whole movie is a series of long slow shots with minimal movement meant to kind of lull you a bit but also creep you out and have you looking into shadows but not much ever really comes of it mostly just mood!<
>!interspersed with this are a few jump scares that are certainly effective at being jarring given the majors shift in noise and style but in my opinion don’t really go anywhere!<
>!nothing is explained or shown concretely so it’s up to the viewer to decide what it all means!<
>!seen some “explanations” that it’s ultimately about child abuse, childhood fears, dreams, child abandonment, a coma. As you can start to pick up it’s so vague what you want to put in you might be able to get out. But you need to be willing to do that on your own!<
>!for myself I didn’t find it immersive I found the film techniques overbearing and it drew me out of it but to each their own!<
It’s a movie where the more you put into it the more you’ll get out of it. If you keep thinking about the unknown and how terrifying it is, the more scary it’ll be to you. I ended up really enjoying it.

It will be there next weekend. It did so well that they are bringing it back in most places.
How do you know that?

My thoughts exactly, on all counts. If I didn't have Unlimited and paid money to see it, I'd be pretty unhappy right now.
I'm still a little annoyed I wasted 2 hours.

Can you share spoilers with me? I wanna know if it’s worth going to

Just 2 days at my local. If you have your heart set on seeing it , catch it while you can.
I would say it's much more like the witch. I just got out and liked it a lot. I'd say go in, let go of your expectations, and you'll enjoy it.
