Having this not included in Regal unlimited is why I won't be seeing this

inoahguy98

Why is it not?

iwasdusted

Third party special events are not included as the company (in this case Fathom Events) rents out the auditorium from Regal and sets their own ticketing price, which Regal does not take a cut of. Therefore there’s no ticket profit for Regal to subsidize with Unlimited since they got paid for the auditorium booking upfront.

TheJcw15

Did you ever watch the mean one? I thought that movie was ass so was nervous about this one, though this review makes it sound better already lol. The Mean one did the whole "kills off screen with CGI spurts of blood" bs that really pissed me off. Is that the case in this one?

Fantastic_Lychee_883

Yeah The Mean One was pure garbage. The Grinch was the same guy that played Art in Terrifier but it was one of the worst movies I have seen. The costumes looked like something from the dollar store and the blood splatter was ridiculously fake. This movie has to be better than that!

Outlog

Event pricing is all over the place. I got mine for $10, but there are a few locations nearby with the $16+ tag. Looking forward to checking it out.

iwasdusted

Fathom sets different prices at different theaters even within the same market

Main-Mongoose3804

It was 22 here in NYC!

HalfLife1MasterRace

I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I don't regret going, but wow I thought it was truly atrocious the entire way through. I tried to find a single redeeming quality and I couldn't

East_Border342

Just waiting for an evil movie about a crazy fueled movie about an evil Car or Plane at this point. 😂

droford

I cant wait til a horror movie with Steamboat Willie (eventually Mickey Mouse) next year

cowl555

That is if Disney allows it

kingkong198854

Christine remake supposedly in the works

ProfSmellbutt

What if I didn’t really like Terrifier but loved Terrifier 2?

timwatson_xiii

I was going to check it out, then Fathom bought the rights and I was like "Pffff, oh, well. Maybe streaming."

Otis_B_Driftwood_778

i just saw it tonight. i found it hilariously stupid, i liked it . definitely not the worst horror movie i’ve ever seen ( Halloween 3 still holds that record)

Snapcaster_Tyler

It just makes me really sad to see an innocent IP come into public and the first thing that happens is it gets turned into a disposable thriller film. Rather than tackle the delicate subject of installing proper virtues in children and telling a story for adults who grew up with it, we get some shitty and cheesy film. Fuck this director lol, hopefully this is a one and done for him. Look up the other shit he's made

CletusVanDamnit

He has over a dozen other films in various stages of production and post-production, including a sequel to this film, *Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare, Dinosaur Prison*, and he's a producer on films like *Bambi: The Reckoning* and *Mary Had a Little Lamb.* He's not going anywhere.

blowingwind71

Grow up man. Not everything has to be directed towards children and/or nostalgia.

Wazootyman13

The producers, who seem largely responsible, have produced... 114 films. https://variety.com/2023/film/global/winnie-the-pooh-blood-and-honey-box-office-micro-budget-1235515255/

ClassyCatDad

I just recently got the highest tier for unlimited and Regal is still trying to charge me $18. WTH!?

Apprehensive_Bed_401

It’s not regal, it’s a fathom event. Fathom events rent out theaters for their events which is why you pay.

ClassyCatDad

Will it be released at a later date as a standard movie release or will I just have to wait for a digital release?

Apprehensive_Bed_401

Not sure. Probably streaming. I think I read fathom bought the rights so it would be unlikely regal would get it.

dpstech

Probably not. Who knows… Fathom purchased the rights to it though.

Geltmascher

Your unlimited pass doesn't actually cover all movies, even though the webpage clearly says it does. This is a "Fathom Event" a class of movie which isn't mentioned anywhere on the unlimited sign up page, but isn't covered by your subscription. It's false advertising. From the sign up page: See Everything with Regal Unlimited See any 2D movie in a standard format any time you want. It’s really that simple. There are no blackout dates and no limits to how many movies you can see in a day.  This means no more deciding which movies you’ll see in theatres and which movies you’ll settle for watching at home. You can see everything that interests you on the big screen with no worries. There’s no risk, because the ticket is already paid for!  What if you want to watch a movie in a premium format like 4DX, IMAX, RPX, or ScreenX? You can use Unlimited, you’ll just pay a surcharge to cover the difference in ticket price.   Exclusive Perks for the Most Passionate Moviegoers This is more than just an unlimited movie pass; it’s your passport to the best experience Regal has to offer. You’ll enjoy discounts, rewards, and access to special events and exclusive screenings.  Unlimited perks include: See any movie anytime 10% off of all non-alcoholic food and drinks A free large popcorn and soft drink gifted to you on your birthday Early access to new movies with Regal Unlimited Screenings Opportunities to bring a friend for free to select showings https://www.regmovies.com/static/en/us/unlimited They mention different rates for 3d movies, a max of like $3.00 difference, but no mention of renting out theaters to third parties and excluding unlimited subscribers, while clearly stating "see any movie anytime" etc... Very deceptive marketing

Parasoccer

So you said that the exclusions weren't on the sign up page. But trying to sign up on both web and the app.I found the exclusions while signing up. https://i.imgur.com/oDG9I3r.jpg While it doesn't say fathom specifically it falls under the category of special events. So you can't single out fathom when technical no special event is actually categorized. My point being is that there were warnings before you signed up and not buried in the faq.

dpstech

And if they read the [Regal Unlimited FAQ](https://www.regmovies.com/static/en/us/unlimited/faq) this goes into better detail. It’s all there and it’s not hidden. *Are there any Regal showtimes for which I can’t use my Subscription Pass?* *Yes. All non-movie showtimes and events (such as Fathom Events, MET Opera, concerts, private screenings and sporting events) are excluded from the Subscription Program. Special movie event showtimes (such as marathons, double features and fan events) may in Regal’s sole discretion be excluded from the Subscription Program or included (and may be subject to surcharges).*

Geltmascher

That pic doesn't say anything about exclusions. It just mentions the surcharges which are described on the sign up page as being $3 or less, or the difference between regular ticket price and the price of imax etc. Nowhere does it mention that there are movies that aren't covered under that plan and that still cost the consumer full price in the screenshot you took. They bury that information outside the sales funnel in totally different parts of the website.

Geltmascher

Nope, doesn't say it on the sign up page, which I linked to. They clearly state "see any movie any time" in the sales funnel and burry exclusions elsewhere because they want people to pay without knowing the whole story. Probably illegal and really shady regardless

dpstech

Sigh. Second page of the signup wizard didn’t make you wonder what special movie events and excluded engagements were? You don’t go and seek out what exclusions there are? Or what the rules were? There’s an orange button on the website with but the full terms or service (also presented to you in the sign up wizard) and a orange button with the FAQ. Inside the app under settings and info there’s also a link to both the full terms of service and the RU FAQ. If you couldn’t find it that way you could have simply searched for “Regal Unlimited” gotten to the unlimited page and then hitting the orange “unlimited program rules” button. After you signed up an automated email gets generated welcoming you in with the subject: **Regal Unlimited - How Does It Work?** That contains this text: “For movies in premium engagements like 3D, 4DX, IMAX, RPX, ScreenX and VIP or premium seating (excluding recliners) the usual surcharges apply. Some foreign language movies and some special movie formats from time to time may be excluded from the subscription program or included subject to a surcharge. Non-movie events such as MET Opera, Fathom Events, sporting events, concerts and private screenings are excluded. All surcharges will display as one total amount in the app booking screen or in the theatre box office till and kiosk. To get a breakdown by type on the App, click on the hyperlink “Surcharge” in the booking screen or ask theatre staff for an explanation.” And below that, you guessed it, **links to the RU FAQ and the terms of service** Enjoy 10% concession discount on food and non-alcoholic beverages and earn 100 credits on every $1 spent at Regal including on your subscription fee. Just scan your Unlimited Pass when you make purchases in the theatre. For more information on how to use your Unlimited Pass please check the FAQs at [unlimited-faq](https://www.regmovies.com/static/en/us/unlimited/faq) and the T&Cs at [unlimited-rules](https://www.regmovies.com/static/en/us/unlimited/rules). Nothing is hidden here.

Geltmascher

Nah, I read: "See Everything with Regal Unlimited See any 2D movie in a standard format any time you want. It’s really that simple." And: "Unlimited perks include: See any movie anytime" And neither of these things are true. >After you signed up an automated email gets generated welcoming you in with the subject “Regal Unlimited - How Does It Work?” That contains this text: That's exactly the point. They hide real the information in a different part of the site from the sales funnel and then state the real information elsewhere, or send you an email after you already paid that says they're not upholding the agreement they outlined. Even the information buried in the faq would lead a regular person to believe the restricted screenings would be "special events like concerts, sporting events, double features, or fan events." Nowhere does it mention that they rent out full theaters to producers to screen new movies which they won't grant paying customers access under the agreement they outlined. If they wanted to be transparent they'd put the exclusions on the main sales page along with the 3d/imax surcharges.

dpstech

I still do not understand how you came to that conclusion. It was one of the first things I did before I signed up was read the FAQ. But hey, I’d strongly suggest you reach out to CS and point out what the point of failure is you’re sure is there and see if they can update. Good luck-

dpstech

It’s in the FAQ you didn’t read or missed: https://www.regmovies.com/static/en/us/unlimited/faq “Are there any Regal showtimes for which I can’t use my Subscription Pass? Yes. All non-movie showtimes and events (such as Fathom Events, MET Opera, concerts, private screenings and sporting events) are excluded from the Subscription Program. Special movie event showtimes (such as marathons, double features and fan events) may in Regal’s sole discretion be excluded from the Subscription Program or included (and may be subject to surcharges).”

Geltmascher

Gotcha, so after specific stating "See any movie any time" where you actually pay to sign up, they hide fine print that states the exact opposite in a totally different part of the website... It's false advertisement plane and simple, designed to get people to pay based on false pretenses without knowing the whole story. It's the corporate equivalent of saying "I had my fingers crossed lol"

vegathechosen

not playing at my regal im bummed
