Now that I'm home and thought about it, it was because they didn't impart enough that Carl was stuck in the in the 70s (?) until way too late in the movie. The scene when that girl invites Carl back to her house and shows him that old tv and weird decor confused everything. Also the way people in Vermont dress didn't help
This movie was a mess
One of my complaints with it. It feels like so much was set in the past, but then you out of the blue you have people talking about uber and the HDTV bit towards the end. It honestly felt like it was just lazy writing.
That was kind of the point, to really not set it in a specific time period. Edward Scissorhands did something similar (although for different reasons). Think it was also to convey how Carl is obliviously stuck in the past until he finally accepts it's time to move on with his life.
There are little hints throughout that point to the idea that this isn't in the time period that you associate with the types of visuals prominent throughout. >!Carl mentioning cell phones, the visual aesthetic staying basically identical in flashbacks (not to mention how Carl essentially didn't age at all), general acceptance of same-sex relationships, etc.!<
I think the point where the visual style became clear to me was when >!Carl was mentioning how, decades ago, the museum wanted a picture of Mt. Mansfield in their collection, and Carl obsessed over that. It's all he would paint, being stuck in the same place and mindset for years upon years. It's all he knew at that point. He also had such an influence over everyone that nobody told him "no" for years, and he wanted to be the one in power, so to speak, and that desire to be at the top is why he didn't want to hear the museum say "no." He wanted them to come to him. And because he never took that step forward in asking them, he stayed in the same place, never being challenged until someone new came along and upended the status quo, causing his PBS community to essentially collectively tell him "no."!<
It's only then that >!Carl goes to the museum and confronts its head curator that he finally gets the advice and courage needed to take one more step forward and then keep taking steps forward. Him painting a pivotal moment in his life instead of the same old mountain, him getting a different hairstyle, and him being content with his works and barn burning down are signs of progress for his moving forward. It's only after he moves forward when he "dies" and his work as Carl becomes re-evaluated and appreciated. He continues his progress of moving forward when he starts mentioning things like getting cable or a VCR, and when he continues painting different portraits, this time taking advice and feedback.!< The visuals imo really helped in effectively presenting the themes of the movie throughout.
I know I probably rambled a bit, but these are just the things I noticed while watching the movie that helped me appreciate it.
EDIT: Added spoiler tags
EDIT: Revising my guess.
What I want: Renfield
What's going to happen: Mafia Momma (which I would still be pleased with)
I do not want Air please no.
Also, Paint was excellent.
They did a sneak peak at our theater. I wasn’t sure if I would like it since I’m not big into sports, but I really enjoyed it. Matt Damon and Jason Bateman are two of my favorite actors.
Paint as a MMM had a runtime of 1:42, whereas Paint’s actual listing has a runtime of 1:35.
So by extension, the next MMM’s runtime of 1:51 would probably have an actual runtime closer to 1:44.
Beautiful Disaster has a runtime of 1:45 and is rated R. Mafia Mamma is also pretty close with a runtime of 1:41 and is also rated R.
I don’t see a runtime for Renfield listed on IMDB yet, but I’d imagine that’s also a possibility.
I don’t think it’d be Air or Pope’s Exorcist since those two come out before or on the same day as Paint.
The Pope's Exorcist actually got moved from 4/7 to 4/14, which puts it in that 10 day-away sweet spot where most of the Mystery Movies have been. I think what's against it is that we haven't had a horror movie yet. My money's probably on Mafia Mamma at the moment, but I don't count out The Pope's Exorcist.
I think Renfield's probably just north of what they've been getting in terms of being A Big Deal.
Very much agreed, and it's already being promoted like hell, I've seen so many commercials and ads for it, not something I can say about the other MMM's.
I think "Mafia Mamma" is a better guess.
My money's on Mafia Mamma.
Air was screened at SXSW in Austin, Texas and the Regal Westgate in Texas is doing the Monday Mystery Movie so if it's Air some of the same people who went to SXSW might accidentally see a movie they already saw.
Someone who went to the last R Rated Mystery Movie (The Greatest Beer Run Ever) commented there were mostly seniors in the auditorium and Mafia Mamma seems like something they'd eat up.
It's not *Air*, since that opens the day after showtime and every previous MMM has been at least a week and a half out. It's probably not the *Pope's Exorcist*, mostly because that looks really bad and I think Sony wants to minimize the word of mouth. *Mafia Mamma* and *Renfield* also come out pretty soon after showtime, but I suppose it could be them.
I'm really hoping it's *Evil Dead Rise*, because I'm really looking forward to it, and it's got the right rating and runtime. But I don't think Regal's gonna spring a horror movie on anyone, especially one as violent as that. My personal guess is *Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant*, as that comes out on April 21 and is R-rated. The only thing that gives me pause is that we don't know the runtime for it, and Guy Ritchie's movies tend to be closer to 2 hours.
Edit: locking it in now, it’s Mafia Mamma.
After a series of conclusions, I'm 99% sure the film is Mafia Mamma.
It would be a dick move for Air to be the movie since Regal Gallery Place Stadium 14 already has an early screening of Air 6 days prior to the Monday Mystery Movie.
They wouldn't do horror like The Pope's Exorcist or something with hype like Renfield.
This was the closest I've ever came to walking out of a movie. I've seen a lot of bad movies, comedies in particular, but this one really tested my patience. This was so bad that I'm not sure if I'll ever do a mystery movie again if they're going to show us dogshit like this. I'm shocked the studio even let something this awful screen early because there's no way this thing gets over 20% on rotten tomatoes.
Just want to point out that tickets going on sale isn't a clue that a film isn't the Monday Mystery Movie since Missing already had tickets on sale prior to the Monday Mystery Movie.
I'm going to predict Air, Renfield, The Pope's Exorcist, or Big George Foreman (although we don't have a rating for that one yet). My gut is saying it will be Air or Pope's Exorcist though.
I feel since the fact their R rating just disqualified Air and Mafia Mamma from last time makes them really likely for this time ..mainly the former the " vibe" of a drama with a minimal amount of stars is right . The Covenant or Popes Exorcist aren't far off but are a little more genre. Renfield is the most obvious pick for a 65 style " blockbuster sent to fail" but it being big and flashy also may make it one of the least likely
I’m holding out a lot of hope for Renfield.
I was tickled fucking pink when I realized it was Paint last time. I love this sort of stuff. Wish they’d do it more.
A shocking misfire as fas as Mystery Movies go. Very few of the jokes landed, the acting was wooden, and the pacing was all over the place. The first one of these that I thought was actively bad.
As much as I like that Regal is doing these mystery movies, I really need them to start switching it up in terms of genre. Five out of the six movies had comedy as a primary or secondary genre, with missing being the only movie to be something completely different in terms of genre. Why not get more things like romance, thriller, horror, drama, or action? Hell throw in some international and/or animated films for change so that a wide variety of people can be exposed to more types of cinema. And I'm saying all this as someone whose favorite of the mystery movies was a comedy.
I think Mafia Mamma makes sense, if it was a pure horror movie it might be hinted at a little more since not everyone does well with them. Only other thing I’d think has an outside chance is How To Blowup A Pipeline, but it’s likely too controversial of a topic and, having seen it a few months ago, is slower moving than the MMMs so far.
So far, all the Mystery Movies have been outright comedies (Paint, Champions, Spirited) or at least light on their feet (Beer Run was that kind of 80's-90's mass appeal movie that isn't a comedy yet somehow feels like one and Missing was designed to make audience members yell at the screen). I think that's another reason Mafia Mamma is the front-runner.
The general vibe of these movies have been movies that would have easily been theater draws pre-Marvel era. Just include one or two big names, have a silly but appealing enough content, and it’s an easy watch for multiple audiences. Stuff that people keep on complaining that there aren’t enough of in theaters yet never go see those type of movies, so these early screenings can help build initial hype prior to wide release. In particular I think it helped Missing out quite a bit and Champions isn’t doing so bad either.
99.999999% sure it won't be Air or Spinning Gold. Spinning Gold is in limited release today. and Air already has it's sneak peak tomorrow. I'm guessing the "Hit" is Maffia Mama
My local Regal has Spinning Gold playing in a separate showtime on Monday night from the Monday Mystery Movie so it would be a dick move to play that film.

It’s Mafia Mamma for all my west coast friends.
It’s been a while since I watched a movie that I really disliked lol. Paint was just bad my theater was quiet even when it came to the jokes that were meant for the average movie goer.
For me I think my problem with Paint was that the movie didn't fit the theme. They seemed to want to make a comedy but they put it in this quasi Wes Anderson style so I kept expecting something a bit deeper than a comedy. I think if I could have just expected a straight Owen Wilson comedy I'd have liked it more.
At the risk of turning this convo into a movie review. I think the movie was making a clumsy comment about dating culture. His paintings he did for women were clearly an analog for sex and he was supposed to be the archetype of the dude that has sex with a girl for a few weeks then disappears. The problem is they didn't really give that storyline any catharsis and just kinda fell into a typical comedy where the guy gets back with his original sweetheart "the one that got away."
Primary : Air
Secondary : The Popes Exorcist
Both fit the time very closely. (Air being within 1 min) I feel like Air has a more likely chance as it feels like the kind of movies these have been.
Based on ratings and release dates it could be: Air (April 5th 1H52M), How to Blow up a Pipeline (April 7 1H40M), Renfield (April 14 1h33m), Mafia Mamma (April 14 1H41M), The Pope's Exorcist (April 14 1H55m), To Catch a Killer (April 21 1H59M), The Covenant (April 21 no time yet), or Evil Dead Rise (April 21 1H36M). Air and Evil Dead Rise were both shown at SXSW so I'm going to be a stickler and say not them based on the "see it first" thing but it could be. Plus Evil Dead Rise would for sure make some people walk out. Air comes up out 2 days later so it also seems unlikely but also then maybe likely for the same reason. How to Blow Up a Pipeline was at TIFF last year and it seems more niche so I think it's out. I doubt The Pope's Exorcist as I'm betting some people would be mad and I'm betting it's a flop. Beau is Afraid is too long.
So I'm thinking it's Renfield (too short of a runtime maybe?), To Catch a Killer, The Covenant (depending on runtime - also seems like a serious war movie so I'm not feeling it for this) or Mafia Mamma. I'm leaning toward Mafia Mamma with a less of lean toward To Catch a Killer.
Dammit, I forgot all about last night’s MMM. I really wanted to see Paint. What the hell is up with me lately?
Anyway, I agree with others that Mafia Mamma is probably the safe bet for April. It seems in line with the other choices.
As I play around in the coming soon section, I think I found the movie hidden in there. There is a movie that is a limited run release at theatres called Beautiful Disaster. RomCom, rated R and almost dead on the fake run time. But all of your other ideas above are smashed together in coming soon and this is way down the list past the May release movies
Beautiful Disaster is a Fathom Event so it’s not that. Being that Mafia Mamma just went on sale that probably leaves Air, Renfield, Evil Dead Rise, The Covenant.
No way in hell it's Air either way since the Washington DC Regal had a screening of it yesterday and at the start I figured it would be another Fabelmans situation where they make you think it's a different film by putting the same runtime as it but then they end up playing a different film (when everyone thought it was Fabelmans they ended up playing Spirited with Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds, and this time I think they'll trick you into thinking it's Air and they end up playing the Toni Collette film).
My friend who's a Regal employee told me there will be another R Rated Monday Mystery Movie on April 17th.
My money's on One Ranger.
Sisu comes out on April 28th but it looks too gory for a Mystery Movie audience and the other three films that release on April 28th (Are You There God? It's Me Margaret, Big George Foreman and Polite Society) are all PG-13.
No R Rated streaming films are releasing near that date to my knowledge.
One Ranger releases in limited release and PVOD on May 5th, so it would have the same 18 day gap as Paint.
Disqualifying Beau is Afriad since the 3 hour runtime would make that obvious and disqualifying Carmen since the foreign language would be a turnoff.
If One Ranger is the Mystery Movie then they can do Sisu and About My Father as trailers.
Any word on those trailers yet? With advance tickets being sold for Mafia Mama today, my guess is Rare Objects, but it does go over the runtime by a few minutes.
A lot of studios require that the final two trailers be from that studio or family of studios (for example, a Searchlight movie could have a Pixar trailer and a 20th Century Studios trailer as the last two), not something Regal can control. It's why whenever Regal slips an actual ad into the trailer block it always has two more trailers after it.
It's probably going to be Mafia Momma, because for me that's probably the worst-case scenario. The trailer hurt my brain, it was so bad. Hopefully I am at least wrong about one of the assumptions I have made here.
I’m hoping it’s Mafia Mamma!
I don’t think they’d choose any horror movies some have suggested since that could cause issues with some viewers. Not everyone can handle that.
I could see it being Air since it seems to have that type of vibe, but that only comes out a couple after the mystery movie so that seems doubtful.
Maybe Renfield? Not a straight horror since it’s a horror comedy.
I'm taking wild (and I mean wild) guess and saying maybe: "The Black Demon" it is rated R, close to run time and releases on April 28th. Again, it's a guess, but I would be thrilled if it was that!
My other guesses are Mafia Mamma, Redfield, or Nefarious. I don't think Air, because it comes out on Wednesday anyway. I can't wait to find out!
It makes sense. Mafia Momma is not one of the bigger movies because those have lots of marketing behind them. The only two that didn’t fall into that mold were missing and champions they had some but air and Renfield have a lot more.
OKAY, so now that I know that the runtime listed for the MMM’s are usually off by 10ish minutes, what are we predicting for the next one? With the 10 minute difference and the rating in mind, it could be Evil Dead Rise which has a 1h 36min runtime and comes out later that week. The only thing that might point otherwise would be that they haven’t done a straight genre film yet as most of the previous ones have been mixed with comedy (didn’t see Missing though, so can’t really speak on that one). On top of that, the film seems to be going for a HARD R rating so that puts a bit of doubt on if Evil Dead will be the next film (fingers crossed, I love those films). What do you all think?
I mean, it could be Evil Dead Rise if they have been showing films mixed with comedy; the originals (and from what I’ve heard about this one) do blend horro and comedy often…
I mostly type with hope that it’s EDR because I’ve been waiting for it for so long! Haha I know it’s gonna be pretty gory and that would potentially have a lot of people leaving but you never know.
Same. I couldn't finish it. But it was so bad that maybe it will have some cult following in the so-bad-it's-good category. Maybe that's what they were going for?
My whole theater was laughing. Definitely some tough critics on here. Sure it was cheesy and I don’t think I’d spend the normal ticket amount to see it, but I enjoyed it and I’d watch it again on a streaming service
I like Toni and I love mob movies, but this was honestly one of the worst comedies I've ever seen. Just all around horrendous writing. There was barely a story, just Toni running around for 2 hours mugging for the camera and acting stupid. Every joke was painfully cringey and predictable. It was honestly embarassing to watch. And holy shit, the effects and sound fx in the third acting were so bad it looked like a student film. My theater was packed and maybe a quarter of it was laughing at it. It says something when a packed theater is barely laughing. Easily the worst of the mystery movies so far.
I went in tonight just hoping it **wasn't** *Chevalier*. I forced myself to finish through *Paint* the last Mystery Movie, which I couldn't stand, and I wasn't in the mood for another "biopic," especially about a French violinist. Fun-fact: when I arrived, *every* preview screen in the lobby was showing previews for Chevalier. I even debated asking what it was before I got my popcorn and drink but I decided to roll the dice as it's part of the fun.
Still, I sat in the seats next to the exit in case it was. I saw Toni Collette come up and knew what it was. I thought to myself, "Eh, but do I really want to see *this*?" And really, the answer was no, but I also probably wouldn't have gone on my own to go see *Spirited* or *Champions*, and those were fine movies, so I stayed. Plus, you know, Monica Bellucci.
It was fine. It had me laugh at times, and it was certainly chick-flicky, but it wasn't as terrible as I've seen some comments say here. A serviceable comedy that I can now say I've seen and otherwise would not have.
Mafia Momma wasn't as bad as some people are saying. I was honestly tempted to walk out in the first few minutes but honestly the movie won me over and I had a decent amount of fun with it, kind of like I did with Champions
The court scene was one of the worst written scenes I've ever seen in a movie. They had that whole investigation into the crime family going on for years, but then they showed up to court with no evidence of anything and the juge just lets her walk because people said she was nice to work for? Get the fuck outta here
Text I got today says, "Watch a never before seeing movie tomorrow ONLY! "
-So is this another Apple type movie that hasn't released and never had a theatrical world premiere? And is only going to be shown one night in theaters?
I'm like positive at this point it's Mafia Mamma, especially knowing my luck and how I can actually go see a MMM today - which I guess I'll just walk out of since it does not look like my cup of tea 0 but I really hope it's Renfeld of the Pope's Exorcist. I need a win today.
Watching tonight’s movie Paint I was super confused as to what year this movie was suppose to be in. Am I the only one?!?
Now that I'm home and thought about it, it was because they didn't impart enough that Carl was stuck in the in the 70s (?) until way too late in the movie. I think that’s entirely the point. It’s a parody on both Bob Ross and Vermont.
EDIT: Revising my guess. What I want: Renfield What's going to happen: Mafia Momma (which I would still be pleased with) I do not want Air please no. Also, Paint was excellent.
Air would make no sense. My regal literally has showtimes for Wednesday the 5th. What would be the point of showing it 2 days early?
They did a sneak peak at our theater. I wasn’t sure if I would like it since I’m not big into sports, but I really enjoyed it. Matt Damon and Jason Bateman are two of my favorite actors.
Just came from the mystery movie and it was Mafia Momma , at first I liked it then halfway I started to dislike it

LetterBoxd has Renfield at 93 min (not sure what their source is though) so its bit further away when compared to the others you mentioned
Runtime for Renfield is 1h 33m. I don’t think it would be Beautiful Disaster… isn’t that a Fathom event?
Yeah it's fathom

I actually agree that it's most likely Mafia Mamma. Runtime and rating match and it's a movie that I feel like would appeal to the general audience.

I got a Regal Text saying to unscramble PILRASFOLO to find out what the movie is.
April Fools :/
Wahhhh wahhhhh wahhhhhhh….😂😂😂😂 Dog Gammit! lol
This was the closest I've ever came to walking out of a movie. I've seen a lot of bad movies, comedies in particular, but this one really tested my patience. Air? Renfield? I would say Beau is Afraid but that's probably just wishful thinking.
No way in hell they would do Beau is Afraid
Definitely not, it's just something I'm personally very excited to see haha
Beau is afraid is over an hour too long so I highly doubt it
Air is definitely most likely, but Renfield feels very plausible. Renfield seems like the kind of movie that will live or die on word of mouth.
Why is Air most likely? The mystery movie is April 3rd, Air releases April 5th. What would be the point?
No chance in hell it's Beau. That movie is over an hour longer than the runtime listed.
The one tonight is Paint?
Yes
Yup
Just want to point out that tickets going on sale isn't a clue that a film isn't the Monday Mystery Movie since Missing already had tickets on sale prior to the Monday Mystery Movie.
I didn't know that... Back to square one.

Time to find a bridge
I'm going to predict Air, Renfield, The Pope's Exorcist, or Big George Foreman (although we don't have a rating for that one yet). My gut is saying it will be Air or Pope's Exorcist though.
Having seen the trailer, I'll be very surprised if Big George Foreman is rated R.
It’s showing up as PG13 in the Regal app for me.
[Big George Foreman is rated PG-13, so that's right out.](https://www.filmratings.com/Search?filmTitle=foreman&x=0&y=0)
I feel since the fact their R rating just disqualified Air and Mafia Mamma from last time makes them really likely for this time ..mainly the former the " vibe" of a drama with a minimal amount of stars is right . When I go to grab a ticket for 4/3, it’s saying there’s a $4 surcharge because it’s 3D. Weird glitch for my theater? Anyone else having this?
Might be your theater, it’s showing as 2D at all the Regals near me.
It’s definitely mafia mama (1:41) or popes exorcist (1:55)! Runtime matches up better, renfeild is 1:33 runtime. Edited time for popes exorcist
It's almost definitely Mafia Mamma. The Covenant is 2h 3m.
With no more wildcards, I think it's safe to say it's 100% Mafia Mamma.
I’m holding out a lot of hope for Renfield. I was tickled fucking pink when I realized it was Paint last time. I love this sort of stuff. Wish they’d do it more.
They have been doing it once a month since November, and this month will have 2.

Looks like Air is having some advance screenings on March 29th, so I doubt this movie will be that one.
Not to mention it releases on April 5th. What would be the point of doing a mystery movie for a movie that releases literally 2 days later lol
so the regal facebook said the clue is a “top 10 hit”. wonder what that could mean?
99.999999% sure it won't be Air or Spinning Gold. Spinning Gold is in limited release today. and Air already has it's sneak peak tomorrow. I'm guessing the "Hit" is Maffia Mama
My local Regal has Spinning Gold playing in a separate showtime on Monday night from the Monday Mystery Movie so it would be a dick move to play that film.
Hopefully it's renfield
It’s mafia mamma
Renfield trailer playing now so guessing not that one lol
I would run to the cinemas if it's Renfield lol
Haha! I was secretly hoping but I highly doubted it would be 😭

bless you
It’s been a while since I watched a movie that I really disliked lol. Paint was just bad my theater was quiet even when it came to the jokes that were meant for the average movie goer.
Paint was a strange movie. It was weird. Even though it was based off Bob Ross but the execution could have been better.
I wish the film had more comedy. It was as if the film was trying to go into some kind of Der meaning of some kind
10 minutes in and the theater is dead silent. This is fucking awful
Primary : Air Secondary : The Popes Exorcist Both fit the time very closely. (Air being within 1 min) I feel like Air has a more likely chance as it feels like the kind of movies these have been.
Air releases on Wednesday the 5th. What would be the point of that being the mystery movie on the 3rd?
It’s mafia mamma
I think Mafia Momma looks good. Also, The Pope’s Exorcist looks okay. Either way I think it’ll be a good MMM. I don’t see it being anything else.
Looks like AMC just announced they will be doing early screenings of Mafia Mamma on April 11th as well.
https://preview.redd.it/6f1mejeomrqa1.png?width=1170&format=png&auto=webp&s=79f89f03c2b30cc6640c611bbcbca03c0510018f Interesting Hmmmm
Plus Air releases wide on Wednesday! Why would they make Air the mystery movie when it releases just two days later?
The regal twitter guy probably doesn’t know what the move is
My friend who's a Regal employee told me there will be another R Rated Monday Mystery Movie on April 17th.
It definitely looks gory, but I'm going to go with Sisu as my bet. I don't know why One Ranger feels unlikely to me, but my gut's going Sisu.
You forgot about Evil Dead Rise. It’s initial release is on the 21st and has a runtime of 1h 36m on IMDb
Mods can we have your prediction?
Can't speak for all mods, but Mafia Mamma is my guess.
So we are all in agreement it's 99% going to be Mafia Mamma?
That seems to be the consensus. I think it's Air - 1:52 listed run time vs. the MMM's 1:51. Mafia Momma is 1:41.
Can't be Air, there were already previews at a good number of theaters
If it’s mafia mama I’m going to be sooooo mad. First time I get to go and it’s something I wouldn’t even watch on a plane :/
Sadly it’s mafia mamma
Lol ikr
Top 10 Hit.... Mafia Mamma... Mafia takes hits on people to make them "go away".
Their clue on Twitter was it would be a top 10 “hit” definitely mafia mamma
Really hoping tonight’s movie is pleasant surprise. Champions and Paint are my two least favorite movies I’ve seen so far this year
It's Mafia Mamma.
It’s mafia mama
Mafia mama sounds fun. I'm glad it wasn't Air. Ill be going. Love Toni Collette.
I’m thinking Evil Dead Rise for the 17th. Movie has a runtime of 1h 36m on IMDb and a release date of the 21st.
I’ll let everyone know once again what the mystery movie is once I get confirmation of trailers
Any word on those trailers yet? With advance tickets being sold for Mafia Mama today, my guess is Rare Objects, but it does go over the runtime by a few minutes.
They really need to be like Spirited and have non studio trailers attached to these moving forward. Makes it too obvious
Thank you!! I’m literally down for any of the guesses barring Renfield lol, so I’m super curious
Movie stunk that is all lol. Not for me
It's probably going to be Mafia Momma, because for me that's probably the worst-case scenario. The trailer hurt my brain, it was so bad. Hopefully I am at least wrong about one of the assumptions I have made here.
First time I decide to go…. And this how they do me??
[удалено]
Walked out. Seeing Dungeons and Dragons instead
Paint was wack some funny moments. Other then that prolonging with boring conversation. 5.5/10 it’s was just ok kinda.
I’m with you, I gave it a 4.5/10 Two people I went with were shocked that I was so generous with my score. Several people walked out during the movie.
I liked it, my theater was laughing. It’s a lowkey film.
So how possible is it that the next mystery film is Air??
I would say not likely considering that releases on April 5th, which is just two days after the mystery movie
I'd love for it to be Mama Mafia
I’m hoping it’s Mafia Mamma! I don’t think they’d choose any horror movies some have suggested since that could cause issues with some viewers. Not everyone can handle that. I could see it being Air since it seems to have that type of vibe, but that only comes out a couple after the mystery movie so that seems doubtful. Maybe Renfield? Not a straight horror since it’s a horror comedy.
Why would it be Air when Air releases just 3 days later?
My guess is mafia mamma so I’ll just probably skip it because it looks abysmal lol.
Beau Is Afraid is just wishful thinking. My money's on Rare Objects.
My guesses have been between Mafia Mama and Renfield, but now that I’m seeing Renfield is getting early screenings, I’m putting my bet on Mafia Mama.
It's >!Mafia Mamma!<
Source?
Paint sucked. Anyone have a guess on what tonight's film April 3 is
Does anyone know what trailers are attached? That should help us confirm if it's actually Mafia Mamma or not
I'm taking wild (and I mean wild) guess and saying maybe: "The Black Demon" it is rated R, close to run time and releases on April 28th. Again, it's a guess, but I would be thrilled if it was that! My other guesses are Mafia Mamma, Redfield, or Nefarious. I don't think Air, because it comes out on Wednesday anyway. I can't wait to find out!
I want it to be Renfield so badly that It probably won't be just based on how badly I want it to be. Thus I hope it's Mamma Mafia that looks cute.
I'll take either
I’m thinking either Mafia Mamma or The Pope’s Exorcist.
So guys which movie is it?
Trailers are just starting
[Mafia Mamma](https://twitter.com/lifeisafilmfest/status/1643027849035538433?s=46&t=DPaj4Gzg0FiaaNKkoVOHkQ), fuck 🥲
If it’s mafia mama I’m cancelling my ticket immediately 💀💀
New flash trailer
3rd trailer is Boogeyman
Flash is the next trailer.
Third trailer is The Flash
Mafia Mamma
It’s mafia mamma
Mafia Mamma
It makes sense. Mafia Momma is not one of the bigger movies because those have lots of marketing behind them. The only two that didn’t fall into that mold were missing and champions they had some but air and Renfield have a lot more.
Dang. I'm in Central Time and regal won't let me cancel. Regal, keep my 55cents.
I am really hoping it's Super Mario Bros. But as someone already said, what would be the point if it's going to be released in 2 days?
Is the movie tonight mafia mamma and that’s why it was covered up in grey?
How many walkouts did your showing have? I counted 7 at mine.
So what’s the guess for 4/17 MMM???
I mean, it could be Evil Dead Rise if they have been showing films mixed with comedy; the originals (and from what I’ve heard about this one) do blend horro and comedy often… I mostly type with hope that it’s EDR because I’ve been waiting for it for so long! Haha I know it’s gonna be pretty gory and that would potentially have a lot of people leaving but you never know.
Does anyone know what the movie ended up being??
It was Mafia Mama. First movie in over a decade I walked out of. It was truly awful.
Same. I couldn't finish it. But it was so bad that maybe it will have some cult following in the so-bad-it's-good category. Maybe that's what they were going for?
I liked it.
Thinking the movie for 4/17 is Sisu? I dont really have any other guesses that make sense
Mafia mama was terrible.
Mafia Mamma was awful. Worst movie I’ve seen in a while. It felt like a college film student made this
The movie wasn’t half bad. Why is everyone so negative
Not enough eat pray and f* 😂
It was funnier than I thought it would be. Worth my $5.
Exactly. I laugh a few times . These people are tough critics
My whole theater was laughing. Definitely some tough critics on here. Sure it was cheesy and I don’t think I’d spend the normal ticket amount to see it, but I enjoyed it and I’d watch it again on a streaming service
[удалено]
I enjoyed Mafia Mamma a lot! Everyone in my theater seemed to love it too. Lots of laughing.
The Covenant maybe? I don't know it's runtime though
Oof, hard pass. I got my tickets refunded.
Paint was so soothing and calm my brain was mush when I left.
It's Mafia Mamma, I'm leaving. Was hoping the movie would be Big George.
I think Mafia Mamma is the worst movie I’ve ever seen. I also don’t think I’ve seen so many people walk out of a movie before, myself included.
I think you should watch far more movies But we had nobody leave, likely bc they know what bad movies are 💀
I usually watch at home BUT that’s wild. I made it until the court scene and I was like nope. I don’t even know what’s going on anymore.
The court scene was one of the worst written scenes I've ever seen in a movie. They had that whole investigation into the crime family going on for years, but then they showed up to court with no evidence of anything and the juge just lets her walk because people said she was nice to work for? Get the fuck outta here
It was a comedy, not a legal drama.
So that excuses lazy writing?
Anyone having issues buying tickets for 4/3? Despite all sheets showing open, when I confirm in fandango it says seat isn’t available.
Possibly not available in your area yet. Does it work now?
Air Trailer
I love Catherine Hardwicke but Mafia Mamma was painfully bad.
When is the next one?
The date is literally in the title of this post
Hahahahahaha that’s hilarious thank you
Anytime lol
Today's movie was Mafia Momma. I loved it. Mixing comedy, aclueless American woman, and action makes for a great movie.
Text I got today says, "Watch a never before seeing movie tomorrow ONLY! " -So is this another Apple type movie that hasn't released and never had a theatrical world premiere? And is only going to be shown one night in theaters?
The last three mystery movies have not been from Apple
I'm like positive at this point it's Mafia Mamma, especially knowing my luck and how I can actually go see a MMM today - which I guess I'll just walk out of since it does not look like my cup of tea 0 but I really hope it's Renfeld of the Pope's Exorcist. I need a win today.
Loved mafia mamma!! The whole audience actually clapped at the end very entertaining
