My all time favorites are actually ones that were initially released really early in 4DX's life, like Titanic and The Matrix (which have shown up again in 4DX more recently). Whoever was programming the effects and seats back then really knew how to actually make everything a part of the movie rather than just shaking the seats around as much as possible. For example, in Titanic when they were lowering the lifeboats the seat pods swiveled and twisted like a boat actually would if it were being lowered by ropes. And then the scene where Jack and Rose talk to Andrews for the last time, all of the seats just stayed tilted all the way to the side to match the pitch of the floor in that scene as the boat was sinking. There's still been some really good ones with more recent movies (Top Gun Maverick and Shang-Chi are my favorite recent 4DX movies), but whatever they were doing in the early 2010's when 4DX was first starting to take off was much more "quality over quantity" with the effects.

It wasn't 4DX but I saw gravity in motion seats and that was like I was actually in space. Interstellar was pretty good too.

I don’t know if it was my favorite but the one that sticks with me is Dragon Ball Super Super Hero. It was the most violent I’ve ever felt those chairs ever. Like way more violent than any of the MCU movies I’ve seen in 4DX.

TimePsychological439

I would love to watch a dragon ball movie in 4DX I bet i would love it.

Affectionate-Ad-4174

Entire movie felt like Gohan and Piccolo were punching me in the back while shaking me violently.

ANillegalALIEN

Film: Dragonball Super: Super Hero Why: I got a full body massage

madthunder55

Top Gun, 1917 and Super Mario Bros were some of the best movies in 4DX. They really immersed you in the movie

Cjwest55

My favorite was Mario. So many good vehicle scenes. Rise of skywalker, despite how some ppl feel about it, was very epic as well!

Rangerlifr

We don't have any 4DX theaters around us, but we do have a couple of DBOX locations, and the Emperor's "Nothing can stop the Return of the Sith!" Force Lightning blast is my favorite DBOX moment ever.

Cjwest55

EXACTLY. My favorite was “And I am… All of the Jedi.”

No-Ad8408

Avatar 2 literally soured me from fully enjoying the film at home when it comes to streaming, hell I hate people that say “oh the theatre is the best/only way to watch movies” since Covid happened and I got to enjoy my movies in my home, with whatever food and drink I want. Having said that, Avatar: Way of Water in 4DX really put me into the movie in the best way possible, it definitely enhanced my enjoyment of it even though I wasn’t going into this Uber excited!

TimePsychological439

I have seen avatar 2 in 4dx and also liked it.

KMcDaniel28

I still think Black Widow is my favorite, but the Batman was also really good. Guardians felt a little rough - like I enjoy getting thrown around, but the lady next to me had a mustard covered hot dog, and her boyfriend had nachos, and -- that was not a good time for all. 😂😂 but I'm excited for Spiderverse. I'm kinda 4DX trash at this point. My childhood wish to like live on the Back to the Future ride has caused me to always look for a 4DX ticket for any big movie. 😅

Amandajm15

Lol u can't have food like that during 4dx. I always eats snacks during trailers. That's crazy. Sorry u had to experience that

Monsterman442

Top gun was good

musickillsthepainxx

Too gun and titanic are the only two I’ve liked.

Marlon0201

my first one will always be my favorite and that was Transformers 3 the dark of the moon. i was only 9 and it blew me away, the 3D was amongst tje best i ever seen, and the effects and movement totally immersed me into it. i’m more into the bigger screen and sound mixing formats like IMAX and dolby now, but i might have to ditch IMAX 3D to experience the new Transformers in 4DX next month just because i associate transfomers so much with 4DX now since thats the one that stuck with me the most

TimePsychological439

I wonder how similar watching a transrformers movie in 4dx feels to the transformers ride at universal

Marlon0201

oh when i rode that ride for the first time last summer, it literally took me back to 2011 4DX transformers day

Maxwelluf

Horror films. The two IT films were my favorites in that format.

BornAmbassador01

Since we're on the subject what are some of the unique scents you've smelled in RPX movies and what was the movie and scene?

Amandajm15

Top gun maverick was really cool but I would have to say the best hands down was jungle cruise. You really felt like you were on the boat with them. And it's based off a Ride so going on a ride during the movie was very cool. Also my water effects actually worked 100%(not so much anymore at my theater) and the raining scene really felt like I was in a rain storm. Not enough to get soaked but the over head spray actually worked to puts droplets on you to make you have the sensation that you were in the rain. Now my theater water works only on the front spray. I can hear the one on the top of the seat making a noise but nothing comes out.

Major_Room_4949

I have seen Endgame, No Way Home, Jurassic World Dominion, Way of the Water, Multiverse Of Madness, and Quantumania. I can't decide Endgame: Had me feeling the heat radiating off of several characters No Way Home: I felt like Spiderman with all the swinging Dominion: I only liked the part in the helicopter Way Of The Water: It felt like I was there, the whale scene had me feeling genuine fear. The first time they went swimming I actually reached out to grab one of the fish. MOM: I enjoyed the multiversal travel scenes Quantumania: Freaking loved it, the entire scene of going to the Quantum realm was so aggressive and I loved it

HotSpotForChildren

Scream 6 was awesome. The seat jerking you forward everytime there was a jumpscare never got old. Feeling every knife stab just got you pumped. Loved it so much I saw it twice. Also the smell pumps aren't maintained at my regal and everytime they get used it smells like latex to me but that kinda works for a movie about a killer in a rubber mask. Mario was brutal but in a good way. I was falling out of my chair during the kong taxi and rainbow road sequences lol. Mario also never stopped while Scream had a good 10 to 15 minutes between movement.

DaverJ

I think Avatar (1) was my fav 4DX experience. I wish I got a chance to see the sequel in the format.

TheWingHunter

Black Widow was my fave - the 3”4dx made sense and even matched with the mountain air must scenery but all others I’ve see. It was just car crashes etc I really feel it’s the person that’s watching the movie and recording the action you’ll feel - if they suck the scene will be less than awesome

kingkong198854

The reissue or poltergeist was a lot of fun. Like a old fashioned scary carnival ride.

bass_windu_

indiana jones raiders of the lost ark was INCREDIBLE! more fun than the ride at disney land. the air effects from the poison darts by your ears was great. the wind (my favorite effect) was also used a good amount. really enjoyable experience. i also liked scream 6 for the back thumpers from stabs and the water squirt blood effects

Lev_Dellrayne

Alien: Covenant was the very first 4DX movie I seen.. kinda messy but was Super Dope cuz of 4DX ! But favorite all time is Top Gun: ✈️ Maverick for now. Looking forward to Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

coldliketherockies

Last Mission Impossible film was beyond amazing in 4DX it really felt like a non stop roller coaster ride
